Black Prince Holidays Avis 4

We enjoyed a holiday from Ely with Black Prince, lovely river cruising, beautifully quiet, at one with nature! The boat itself was spotless and modern. Would recommend.

We have always enjoyed holiday's with Black Prince Holidays and have tried many bases just to give us different experiences on different canals across the UK. The holiday itself on board the canal boat was brilliant and enjoyed it . There was a few locks on our route so totally enjoyed it. However we have already tried to contact Black Prince Holidays to give feedback and no one has replied so have given feedback on here. If you wanted to improve peoples experiences on board a canal boat the first thing I would have checked was the bedding, whilst along our route as a family we found stains on pillowcases on the beds and duvet smelt damp. Of course you are on the water but if these were clean on it should have no smells at all only clean smells from being washed. Mattress could have been better on the double bed but no here or there for 4 nights or so. Lastly they need to look at the back door of the boat we were on as there was a gap at the top of it leaving drafts to come through at night making the boat cold even if we put central heating on for a while you could not run it all the time overnight

Called in to the Festival Park Marina in Stoke-on-Trent, as we needed some repairs done.

Couldn't have asked for better service. We expected to have to book in and wait for a few days but no, Gavin came to us once the office had closed to discuss the various things we needed doing.

Went over and above, also fixing a long-term issue which we were resigned to just having to put up with!

Very friendly, and very reasonable. Would recommend to anyone.

Picked up a superbly maintained and presented boat from the Stoke Marina. Spotlessly clean. Even the side fenders had been wrapped neatly and placed in the mooring pin locker.

I've been on over 30 years of canal holidays now and Steve did one of the best and most professional handover/introductions yet - recognising experience but verifying my knowledge and understanding.

Value for money = satisfaction minus price.

Black Prince aren't the cheapest boats afloat, but they are dependable and you know what you are going to get. To my mind - they present good value for money (now that covid pricing has passed)

This was my 7th or 8th trip with Black Prince (over 30 plus years) and I would be happy to hire from them again in the future.

Steve and the BP team in Stoke were pro-active, friendly, professional and a credit to the company.
