Visited the store to buy hiking clothes/ kit for a hiking trip in 2 days time.
The staff were so lovely and helpful. Special mention to an employee called Catherine. I needed lots of little bits and she helped me throughout. She was extremely knowledgeable and understood my brief! Good quality and affordable. She made me feel confident in my purchases with 0 pressure to buy.

I wanted to go and look for a new coat and hoody but when I went by at 4:10pm (21/1/25) the store was closed.

The lights were on but the shutter was down and door appeared locked but it had no sign in the window or anything to say why they were closed.

I had checked the website and it was supposed to be open until 5:30.
I was really disappointed because I wanted to spend some of my birthday money and I had made a trip to town specifically to visit the Blacks in Hull.

I am so disappointed as the store used to be a great place to visit but this has really made me think twice about using the store again.

As someone in need of size 13 walking shoes, I was pleased to find that, while they didn't have a *lot* of footwear in my size, I still had a few options. Staff was kind, casual, and kept the shoes I had my eye on on hand while I went elsewhere to see if I could find anything better (I could not, which is probably a green flag for Black's).

I’m sight impaired and required assistance picking a rucksack. Hugh, the shop assistant was extremely kind, accommodating and helpful. With his help I was able to try out multiple bags before finding the one that best suited my needs. I would definitely shop here again.

I recently visited the Hull branch of Blacks with my son as he wanted to buy a pair of waterproof shoes for a trip to Sweden, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the service he received from Hugh. He was incredibly knowledgeable and gave fantastic advice on the best options for his needs. Hugh was also extremely patient, bringing out several pairs for him to try on until he found the perfect fit. His friendly and professional approach made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. He left feeling confident in his purchase, thanks to his expertise. Highly recommend visiting and asking for Hugh if you need any advice or help—five-star service all the way!

I went in the Hull store today. I bought a pair of Berghaus hiking boots at a brilliant price may I add. A pair of Sealskinz all weather gloves also. We were served by a young lady called Jess. Who's customer service was outstanding. ( and I should know ) I was in retail management for twenty years. It's a pleasure to go in a store and recieve the care and attention that most people do not give these days. A lovely smile and chat rather then a grunt. Thank you will call again.

Very helpful staff and a great product range made my visit to Blacks Hull branch worthwhile. There was a sale on and I was very pleased when the assistant checked the price of some walking shoes for me and they had a great reduction from the usual price. I made a purchase of some Merrell Speed Strike 2 GTX and left the store very happy.

Quality helpful service the staff of the Hull branch. Sonya in particular was very helpful in helping the Wife & I select the best footwear for a future trip to Scotland.

Popped in again the other day for some new boots. Good range considering the size of the shop. The lad who helped get me the right size was the same who helped me find a bag a few weeks ago and was really friendly both times. Always top service.
