Our salesman was helpful and efficient, polite and user-friendly

Matthew was brilliant and got us some extra pennies off a brilliant mattress. We weren’t hounded by any sales teams which was nice when we tried out a few mattresses.

We wanted a Sleepeezee mattress to replace our old one: which we were very happy with.
Carpetright stocks this brand: so we went to the Ashington store to test out what they stocked. There were only two that fitted our criteria: firm but with a thick enough padding to cushion the firmness.
We chose one - it was nearly a £1,000: so definitely not a cheap purchase. There were only a couple of mattresses in the store that were under that price..
We choose a Sleepeezee Comfortgel 2800 - we knew from the first night sleeping on it: that we had made a bad choice. Our shoulders and back were sore from the fact that there is not enough padding on the top of the mattress.
We reported this to Carpetright within days: we were offered to exchange it from the selection; because they had a ‘sleep trial’. Only one fitted our criteria: was more expensive but looked to be inferior quality. We were very disappointed.

I telephoned Sleepeezee direct: I was given the name of a similar mattress to our old one; it cost only £500.00. This does make us wonder whether the mark up on Carpetright’s mattresses is exorbitant.
I was under the impression that if we needed to exchange the mattress we bought from Carpetright: that we would be able to choose a replacement from the hundreds of others; Sleepeezee makes.
THIS IS NOT THE CASE!
They informed me that Carpetright specially commissions only a handful of their mattresses - so only at this point did we realise that we had virtually no choice of other mattresses by this brand.

I telephoned the manager again and said we would prefer a full refund: as we made this purchase without knowing how limited our choice of replacement would be (should we need one).
We were not given this information prior to making our decision to purchase from Carpetright and I feel strongly that we should have been: though there is no question; this knowledge would have put us off.
The manager was sympathetic but has informed us that we cannot have a refund but can choose from the other brands in the store - this doesn’t help us; the choice is still too limited.

There are many other companies where you can have a sleep trial - some up to a year! - and still get a full refund if you have find you have made a bad decision: as we have. This does not reflect well on Carpetright and their extremely restrictive and hidden policies.

My very low score is for the senior management and their company practices/policies; it does not apply to the staff in the branch.

Purchased a carpet for my stairs from Stuart in the Ashington store. Very helpful, great service from start to finish.

Excellent service from start to finish which wasn’t long as they went above and beyond. From visiting the store picking the carpet, ordered, paid, delivered, fitted and old carpet removed all within 2 hours
