The worst company ever this has yo be a scam. What ever you do do not use these people.

Not received plates, unable to get a response, probably a scam….AVOID

Absolutely atrocious, been waiting nearly 2 weeks, no way of getting a response from the company.
I shall be applying to Barclaycard for a refund!
Steer clear, they look like a bunch of chancers!

Ordered 3 sets of plates for £115.
Nothing delivered.
No reply to contact since.
This is a ~SCAM~ firm.

What they dont tell you in any of the conformation messages that you have to confirm on the order is is the number plates are legal or Not. They just say standard road number plate. On complaining they said it was my fault as there default setting is custom plates yet this doesn't appear atall on the conformation messages they also claimed I'd used illegal spacing despite only typing in the registration number listed on the registration document with no spaces. THEY HOPE you will give in and buy a second set . If they said in the conformation emails road legal or show plate which appears in FAQs but not on the plate ordering page but custom is there default.

I paid for express delivery and on the website it says same day dispatch, it even has a countdown clock although I now see this as a tool to rushing your decision. Ordered on a Monday (1st) and not even dispatched until afternoon of Wednesday 3rd, they eventually arrived Friday 5th at 7pm. After initially complaining that they were needed to sell a car we were reassured they'd turn up on time. When they didn't and we complained again and the only correspondence we got back was a cut and pasted email with their shipping commitments which do not match the website. 1-3 days was express, it took 5 yet not even an apology. I wish I'd read the other reviews on here first. Don't use this lot try Plates for Cars

Paid for express delivery and nothing came …avoid!!!

Rear number plated faded after 16 months. The company offers a 3 year warranty. I emailed the company and my reply was...... we don't keep orders over 12 months. I had attached the order email with all of the info, invoice number etc......

Illegal Plates Supplied
CarPlatesDirect advertise legal plates and in their FAQ's they say they use legal materials and mark them with the required legal details marked accordingly.
This is mixed up with other text that says some plates are show plates.
I ordered what I understood to be legally compliant plates and they are no such thing. No required markings in direct conflict with the FAQ's that say the marks will be on the plates.
A deeper search into the website shows no recognisable contact details other than a sales@ email address. I should have known better than to deal with a company that is shy about its whereabouts and its legal entity.
Currently looking at the Advertising Standards Authority to see what they can do about this sort of trading.
Anyone considering using this company should be aware that they will be taking a gamble whether any plate supplied will be UK legal.
I will be looking at ways to shut this company down.

Ordered my plates on Sunday and was delivered on the Wednesday morning. Exactly what I asked for and top quality materials. Definitely recommend this company so easy to deal with .Thanks guys

Oh so wish I had looked at the reviews on here first! They clearly have fake reviews on their website. I ordered what I thought were legal plates, opted for express delivery, only to find once I had paid that you get an email saying express delivery basically makes no difference when there is a bank holiday. Should have realised when I didn't have to upload any documents that they were a scam. Then the plates arrive and there is no BS number. Try finding a phone number but seems you have to email. Finally got a reply saying it should be at the bottom of the plate, sent them an email and pictures and now no reply. Seems like I've been scammed like others.

Total scam no mention of the document they require from you until after you've paid. Wouldn't give a refund. I'm not sending a copy of the car ownership slip and my driving license to a company that doesn't even have a phone number!

Ordered plates plus fixing pack - £39. Evri emailed to say couldn’t deliver - no idea why. Contacted Car Plates to be told to contact Evri - contract with Car Plates who now won’t reply to me at all! No plates and no refund - complete scam!

Ordered replacement plates from this company as they were slightly cheaper but also did the rear for my 21 plate Range Rover sport, paid £75.96 for road legal plates a fixing kit and postage so wasn’t too bad. However upon arrival and inspection I noticed they were missing the legal stamp tried emailing no luck tried the web chat only to be informed they only make to order it was obviously my mistake as I didn’t request it to be road legal in the ordering process. So sent another email apologising if I’d made a mistake then I’ll have to order again, however at the ordering stage I tried both methods they charged the full £63.98 for uk legal plates but only £39 for show plates, they’ve never replied to any of my emails. Don’t hold much chance of a refund that monies lost.

JUST ANOTHER COWBOY COMPANY 1 FOR EVERYONE TO AVOID BEING SCAMMED OUT OF THERE HARD EARNED CASH.

Then I realised that number plate suppliers are supposed to check your documents before issuing plates, so dug deep into the terms and conditions on the website.

It is clearly written:
"Plates supplied by the company ( Car Plates Direct ) are Show Registration Plates which are made and supplied for “off road” use only, car shows exhibitions, private land etc, where the law does not apply. Due to the strict
restrictions of trade given by the UKs ‘DVLA’ all plates, including legal style layout or full design control are sold to the Purchaser on the basis of being for show use only and the Purchaser may risk prosecution if the registration plates are used on UK highways."

Basically, these are not road legal! Because it is written in the terms on the company website, there is also no comeback if you buy and then realise they are illegal plates once they arrive.

The Car plates arrived very quickly and are of good quality. However, I mistakenly ordered the fitting pack. What rubbish - at most worth 50p but CPD charge £6.99. Totally useless for the job. Won't make this mistake again.

Ordered rear number plate for caravan and told no documents needed. Once order had gone through and we had paid we received an email to say log book details needed.
Rang and spoke to someone to be told “if you want to cancel there is an £8 charge and NO we do not say in web page that you need a log book but we are not bothered if it is miss leading, we have your money now so tough.” The lady was aggressive and offensive. Furthermore the plates turned up several days after the guaranteed delivery date. Have rung and asked for a refund but been told NO way we do not give refunds even if plates never arrive.

ordered a replacement number plate for my bike 21st June 2024, paid £43.48, then an email came back confirming my order, however, that's when the horror starts..!! 15 days later, no number plate, no response to my 3 emails, there online chatline will not accept my order number, THIS IS A BOGUS SITE, A COMPLETE 100% SCAM, therefore place you order at you own risk, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED....

AWFUL to deal with. Plates arrived quickly but were spaced incorrectly. Even after photo of V5C never had an apology. Got a refund and went somewhere else.
