Great selection fruit trees and soft fruits, with good variety of rootstocks. Website has advice pages for selecting rootstocks and planting. I placed an order for 10 of fruit trees (cherry, pears, apples) which arrived very well packaged and undamaged. All the trees appear to be healthy and were planted - we shall see what happens in the spring of 2026! BUT BUT - I only received 9 trees i.e. 1 missing. It is impossible to get a response from customer service (phone or email) despite trying multiple times. I am out of pocket now.

I am very pleased with my bare root apple tree which although receipt was delayed by the courier due to Storm Goretti by a day or so, it had been so well packaged the roots had not dried out and nor was there any damage to the actual tree. Good coms from the courier keeping me updated and delivered at time and date they said. Will certainly be a return customer when next looking to buy fruit trees or bushes. Even received an email from Bowers checking I had received delivery and asking if all was well it.

Very poor. Tree never arrived. They didn’t answer emails or phone. PayPal refunded. Don’t buy from them!

Ordered 5 fruit trees they arrived in good time and were well packed. The reason I used Chris Bowers is they have a good catalog of fruit on lots of different rootstocks which is most important when planting trees. Fingers crossed they all come to life in the spring.

Very honest and trustworthy seller. I have received my order quickly and very well packed.

The web site says that the gooseberry plants are "Supplied as: 2 litre pot grown year round". When they arrived, they were bareroot rather than in pots.

When I raised this with them they were dismissive. Its a problem for me as my sites aren't quite ready yet so I wanted a few weeks leeway in pots prior to planting. DIssappointing that they can't be clearer about this on their site so I could adjust accordingly.

Ordered a plum tree - it came with what appears to be crown gall or some sort of infection. Emailed the company about it but they were dismissive and said that its "not a problem" even though it is, also extremely extremely rude, have never seen anyone respond like that before. not buying there again. there are other places with better service

9 beautiful fruit trees delivered today as advised, and I only ordered them on 6th December! All good sized plants with washed root system, well packed in straw and heavy paper sacks. Now potted up and awaiting spring growth before planting in orchard. Many thanks to Chris Bowers!

I ordered two trees in the first week of November. In the order confirmation it was said it would likely take 7 days, but perhaps up to 28, due to it being busy season for trees. Fine, happy to wait. The 7 days pass, then two weeks, and then four, without updates from the company, from the courier, nor did the trees arrive.

I sent an email on that 28th day to ask for an ETA on my order, and four days later, had not received a response. I'm going through the bank with a dispute now to get my money back, as I am not expecting to ever hear from the company again. Unfortunate, I was happy to support a family business.
I should have checked the reviews here first, seems I wasn't the only one.

My advice is to stay away and find somewhere else. A little extra on the price is worth it, if the order actually arrives as promised.

I ordered a fan trained peach tree and a very lovely bare rooted young tree arrived a couple of weeks later. The tree was in good condition and was well shaped. A good service and a nice tree.

Healthy trees, well developed.So far purchased 14 trees this year, dwarf, super column and standard. Large varieties and rootstocks. Excellent customer service. Well packaged.Highly recommended.

I like this company and am happy with the trees. I gave only four stars because the delivery was slow and I was given three different delivery dates, with no time slot. I had to stay in for three days which was annoying. This was, it seems, entirely the fault of the delivery APS and not Chris Bowers who were helpful and good with communication.

Great website with lots of information to inform my purchase. Bare root apple trees arrived in great condition, probably the best packaging I have seen, with the trees packed in straw and then in paper sacks. Quick response to email queries and a helpful post sale check

I originally received two bare root pear trees in March this year. Despite the good packaging, one of them had rather dry looking roots and the plastic bag containing them had been perforated by a root. The other tree has flourished whereas the dry rooted one failed to come into leaf. On raising this with Gemma @Chris Bowers, I was offered a refund or replacement tree, deferred to this planting season. On reminding her, a well packaged, potted tree of the same variety has arrived promptly and looks healthy. So, my experience has been positive. Can't fault the after-sales service.

I received excellent advice on gooseberries. This resulted in me being able to select the correct variety for the growing location.
When my bare root plant arrived, it was well packaged and in excellent condition.

Absolutely rubbish company.

As an experienced gardener who's ordered from numerous companies before I had ordered 12 trees specifically because of the range of varieties provided on the website. When they came they were in poor condition, terrible labelling, weak roots and untrue to the sizing specified. They were significantly smaller than what I was told but even then I took care of them hoping to turn it around. Just two were alive the other trees are completely dead and the other two died shortly after too.

From another 2 companies, Jparker and Yougarden we have had trees growing in our orchid perfectly fine within the same season. Absolutely amazing companies with great customer service I highly recommend rather than chris bowers.

The ones from this company came in extreme poor conditions and they were not freshly dug up either as if they were pulled out from the soil and "preserved" for some time before actually packaging and dispatching the delivery.

This company has been a complete waste of time and their customer service is so terrible. Ignoring emails for months on end, zero communication, snarky and rude responses when they do finally get back to you, no mention of refunds and no keeping their word to their guarantee. Whoever is responding has no reading comprehension either repeating themselves like a broken record player denying that 12 dead trees isn't their fault!

There is zero liability taking place and no actions taken to take responsibility for the disrespect, disregard, waste of money or time. Absolutely exhausting to deal with this company still refusing to refund. I recommend ANYWHERE else. Extremely disappointed. They just lie.

I’ve ordered twice from Chris Bowers and the plants have arrived well packed. I’m especially pleased with the shape of the Asian Pear tree that was sent. Beautifully pruned and symmetrical.

I’ve also had to contact their customer support and they were very helpful and responsive.

As they send bare root plants, one of my gooseberries didn’t break its dormancy. Customer support was very helpful; sent photos and they sent a replacement.

If I ever order another fruit bush or tree, definitely will order from this company. I have ordered from others and the quality was not there.
