Ted Ciamillo is a FRAUD! He reached out to us and offered discounts for 10 units of Custom Ciamillo B1 for Brompton brake for $510 each instead of the original price of $850 each. We wired a total of US$5,100 in Nov 2022 and contacted him numerous times. We got the same response, order will be out this week. We got NOTHING! BE AWARE! DO NOT DEAL ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!

I am a former retailer of Ciamillo brakes. Ted still owes me some brakes, many times he promised me he is about to send the brakes. Endless lies since 3 years, nothing here. I now know I will never see the brakes. How do you call that, scammer?

I knew Ciamillo brand when they launch zero gravity Gravitas SL back in early 2010, can’t remember exact year. Until recently, I have finally got my hand on a pair of Ciamillo B1 brakes. The quality is amazing, the finishing on the carbon fibre is so good specially the edges, although it’s not cheap, considering the time and effort has been put into it, I think it is worth it. Will update when installed on my Brompton.

There is a lot of turmoil and mixed reviews of past transactions about Ted and his brand, but I really wanted to get my hands in this new brakes.
I had direct communication with him and i got a great deal on the very last model , I did my order , and yes, I DID had to wait several weeks until finally I get shipment confirmation ,so between some order delays , and some patience mixed , I have to say Ted always replied , when the brakes arrived I was more than amazed, amazing construction and weight , easy to install and to set! Ultra L8 such an amazing piece of art! i will update about the durability and performance in 6months time.

I purchased a product and was promised numerous times that it was in production and would be shipping soon. This went on for over 6 months and finally I gave up and asked for a refund. They said my check was in the mail but who writes checks these days. The check of course never arrived. I was asked to pay thru Zelle with a small discount which was a mistake. Make sure you if you do business with Ciamillo you have some type of purchase protection. I understand the company's products are custom made but don't treat people like jerks. Be transparent about the build process. That being said - having bought a set of rim brakes made by Ciamillo from another online vendor, I can attest that the company's products are nicely crafted. You just have to keep your fingers crossed that they actually build your product and deliver. Overall my experience was a major annoyance and I will no longer be buying anything from them again.

I love the engineering that went into these brakes. They work perfectly for me and I feel safe knowing that I can stop when I need to.

Installed B1 brakes on my beloved Brompton, with SwissStop Flash Evo pads. What a relief to shed the clunky stock brakes. The carbon fiber brakes may be overkill in a way, but their "mad genius" design fits perfectly on this insane folding bike. Every detail of the brakes is so well conceived, and the performance is great, with powerful stopping as well as light modulation.

I have been using the G20 brakes for about 3 years. This brakeset is being used with Campagnolo levers. These levers were a big improvement over the Campy brakes. I found the Ciamillo brakes offered much better stopping power with my Mavic carbon wheels. Setup was key to getting the brakes to function at their best. I was initially frustrated with the performance. When I went back and re-read the installation instrucions, that made all the difference. Moving the set screw in or out to adjust clearance is key to getting optimal performance from these brakes.

Ted has gone above and beyond. He originally sent the wrong brakes by pure mistake due to his high workload and issues. He totally rectified this and sent a new pair all the way to the U.K.

I've been riding my Lekki8s for years and could not be happier. When a minor issue developed with one of them, Ted took the time to troubleshoot with me over the phone and was able to diagnose and offer a solution in minutes. If I ever buy another rim brake bike these are the only brakes going on it.

I purchased the L8 ultra directly from Ted. I used them for about 3 months but after not being able to get enough power out of them I contacted Ted for some advice. Although I had no intention on returning them, Ted offered to exchange them for the Lekki8. The Lekki8s are way more powerful, adjustable and superlight weight. I’m really happy now. More than anything, I appreciate Ted’s commitment to make his customers happy. I will definitely be back for more. Thanks

I purchased a product from Ted Ciamillo directly, and was promised a 3 week lead time on it. That date came and went and I repeatedly got new ETAs for my order. Finally I asked for a refund since it became apparent my item was never actually going to get built. I was then told he would mail a check for my refund, which I never got. I was then told he never mailed the check but would refund me via Zelle, which once again he has promised several dates that have come and gone. I cannot stress this enough, do not buy anything from this company unless you can use a credit card and have purchase protection. You may never get your product or your money back.

Update to say that I received a partial refund, however Ted has once again missed his promises date for the rest of the refund.

Ted is very responsive to my query regarding the Micro brakes. Managed to resolve my technical issue on balancing the front brake pads.
I think Ted's operating principle of Company ownership, passion and staying within reach of customers is the mark of Excellence.

Ted was very accommodating to my weight weenie needs. He went above and beyond creating and tuning my brakes. I couldn't be happier with the result. The brakes weigh only 119.8g! (custom red devil l8 ultra) with pad holders, without brake pads. Incredible. Ted sent the brakes back overnight to get them to me before an upcoming trip, which i really appreciate. - Andy

This is my third time making a purchase from Ted. Ive finally upgrades week and needed new brakes because the wheels were to wide for the older brakes. Ted was easy to get in touch with and even easier to deal with. Shipping was prompt and fast and the the products are as always incredibly light and extremely powerful.

I bought a Ciamillo Gravitas carbon brake set a few years ago. I've always been very happy about how light they are, how well they perform and how nice is the design. I recently had to contact the company for a replacement part and I have to say I had a really great and fast support! This is a great "small" company of high-end performance parts. I recommend!
