I have bought both legal UK tender (gold and silver) and Roman denari online from Coincraft and I am very happy with their service. Trustworthy and reliable. Haven't used anyone else for coin purchases and probably won't.

I made an order online with contract several months ago for a starter set of Roman coins. They sent me 2 sets instead of one and then I noticed that I had been charged for 2 as well.

I spoke to a woman in store who said it would be fine simply bring the coins in to the store and they would give me a refund.

I took the coins into the store and then awaited my refund. 6 months later and they did not give me a refund so in effect they scammed me.

And to add insult to injury they keep sending me their marketing newsletter by post.

Excellent service. Vanessa kept me informed regarding my enquiry and sorted out a problem. I can recommend them as a trustworthy and reputable business.

Always enjoy using coincraft! The coins arrive perfectly packaged and exactly as they are shown on the website. I even received copies of the phoenix at no extra cost which I thoroughly enjoyed reading every month. My go-to for coin collecting. Keep it up guys! 💪

I’ve only ever purchased from Coincraft over the phone, though I’d love to visit their store! I’ve always had a really positive experience, and always been very happy with my purchases. I used to look forward to the Phoenix magazine each month or so, but now I receive an email form of it, which is not as nice, but I understand the need to save on the postage costs. Overall I am very happy with all my (admittedly inexpensive) purchases, and have nothing but praise for the ladies that have taken my orders over the phone. A happy customer! Stephen Cousins

Their shop is charming and welcoming, gentleman was happy to offer us assistance. Their website is a little antiquated but bought a few coins, for I assume was a decent price, and were delivered in a timely fashion

I have bought coins from Coincraft both by post and when visiting the London shop, for 30+ years and have always received a first class service from Ian. Normally I do not complete reviews but I have just received an outstanding experience involving the purchase of a gold coin (which arrived by post the following day), to complete a cased set, part exchange of duplicate coins etc and, overall was very pleased with the outcome. I thoroughly recommend Coincraft and feel Ian is a great representative of the company.

I wanted replacement medals for a memory of my Grandfather. The medals arrived, well wrapped, the communication was excellent and a nice touch was a pre paid label with 45 days for replacement or refund. You cannot say fairer than that. I am delighted with my purchase.

I had a very positive experience dealing with Coincraft. I had quite a mixed bag of coins I wished to sell and Ian spent a lot of time carefully examining the coins and gave me a fascinating insight into several of them before giving me a quote. While I didn’t end up selling them to Coincraft, I can’t fault the service I received from Ian and his team.

Breathtakingly rude individual behind the counter. I offered some nice enamelled Roman brooches for sale if they were interested as l work in an office nearby and know they sell some artefacts. I was sent away with a flee in my ear with words to the effect of we don’t do business with detectorists who wander in off the street! This detectorist (off the street) has been recording with PAS for over 20 yrs and helped one senior member of staff across the road in the BM get their masters degree! You do not deserve anyone’s custom.

They sent me a ‘tracked parcel’ that felt extremely light (the Royal Mail postage label confirms that it weighed 1.005 kg including some printed magazines). The mailer bag was in perfect condition when delivered, but it contained a folded empty nylon hold-all with nothing inside it, when the contents should have weighed closer to 10 kg … and now they’re not answering emails, talking about solicitors. A pain to deal with.

Very little at Coincraft ever ‘checks out’ and ‘collection’ names are very ‘creative’ so in some ways it’s probably better to receive nothing from them rather than antiquities or ancient coins likely to cause problems in the future, and have to use a solicitor again to deal with a fake provenance. For example, ‘Tony Brandon’ only collected small Egyptian antiquities, so it’s frustrating having to ‘deal’ with Coincraft claiming he had owned other items they gave away, many years later, misleading claims they only made to try to ingratiate themselves with other antiquities dealers re-selling the items.

My ‘favourite’ Coincraft sleight of hand is the ‘it could be x, it’s probably old, but I’m selling it as a copy’ bargain; when a leading expert at the BNF has already stated that it’s a modern Bulgarian counterfeit, it’s highly unlikely to be a rare ancient gold four aurea medallion from the Partinico shipwreck.

The Royal Mint may sometimes charge more money for similar material, but at least the Royal Mint cause fewer problems. If you want sovereigns, then buy them at Bullion By Post.

Absolute scamming con artist unaware of the value of my coins and in a situation I needed money I accepted the offer only after doing my research I realised the offer they gave me for 10 coins was the value of one of them after phoning and speaking to a member of staff I got told that they are not able to value coins when looking up on their website recently one of my coins was on display and over 12 times the amount they paid me for 1 they are not honest people

Have used Coincraft since 2002, expensive, mabye due to London prices, but nonetheless a genuine company

Helpful Customer Service. Good coins at good prices, will order from here again.

I haven't seen a review of Coincraft here yet so I thought I'd share my experience: 5-star service all round. Lots of different items; single coins, sets, ancient coins, modern coins, rare items, and everything in between, at excellent prices. Items are securely packaged and arrive very quickly. I've bought most of my collection from Coincraft, and will continue to buy from them until I run out of room. Highly recommended.
