colonial penn scam

On April 5, 2026, I looked for a quote from Colonial Penn. I did not buy. The next day the first months premium was deducted from ,y bank account. I immediately called and was told my policy would be canceled and my premium returnen to me. so far nothing. How come a premium can be deducted from my bank in less thab 24 hours, but cannot be return in more than 14 days. Truly a scam.

My Father past away in the hospital…

My Father past away in the hospital from heat failure and suffocation he had been paying 30yrs to Colonial Penn I called Colonial Penn and they told me sorry but this is accidental insurance only never explained to my father and they never did anything about it like my father planned for his heart to fail or suffocation this company needs to be sewed.

Wat a rip off

The worst company what a rip off. I have 1 policy for 5 years and when I cancel it the return was only $92.11 and my question is wat happen to the $1,000 dollars after 2 years zero nothing but $92.11

TOTAL RIPOFF

TOTAL RIPOFF! You have been warned! My momma passed away and paid over 12 years on the policy with extra units, about $89 a month total for $10,000 in total coverage. When she passed away and we called about the policy, we were told it would be expedited. We'll, going on 3 weeks now and still bo check! When you call them, you get the worst customer service in the world! Nothing worse to be lied to and disrespected especially by a company claiming how much they care! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Total rip off

Total rip off! I requested to cancel 1 week later, their policy is 30 days refund. I then MAILED back the request to cancel 2x because they claimed the didn't receive it. Everytime I called my refund was less. Mailed a third letter then faxed my cancellation only to be told now it's too late. They are overpriced and customer service is awful. They target the elderly and ripped me off more than $100 and I'm on social security 😡

I signed up for life insurance and the…

I signed up for life insurance and the representative I talked to kept getting smart with me, missed spelling my name on purpose, and was just out right rude. I called to get my policy fixed and they sent me a letter and name was still miss spelled. So I call again and ask to talk to a supervisor and they wouldn't let me!!! I guess it's time to look for different insurance

I am deeply disappointed with Colonial…

I am deeply disappointed with Colonial Penn’s handling of my mother’s life insurance claim. My mother passed away on Jan 13, 2026. Despite being the policyholder and paying all premiums for years, I have been met with nothing but administrative roadblocks.

The company is currently stalling the claim due to a clerical error on their end—listing my mother as the beneficiary despite the relationship field correctly stating 'Son.' Rather than resolving this simple internal mismatch, they have forced an 'investigation' that has lasted over a month with no end in sight.

To make matters worse, their technical support recently told me I must provide a Power of Attorney (POA) to access the online account—a legally impossible request, as POA status expires upon death. Most outrageous of all: while they refuse to pay out the death benefit, they continue to send bills. I was forced to pay $298.50 in post-mortem premiums on Feb 14 just to ensure they didn't cancel the policy while 'investigating' the claim.

If you want a company that supports your family in their time of need, look elsewhere. Colonial Penn has turned a time of mourning into a bureaucratic nightmare.

I contacted Colonial Penn online…

I contacted Colonial Penn online because of the "guaranteed" acceptance policy..,..which it is NOT ! I expressed everything I knew about my health issues and waited for a "contact" of acceptance. Unfortunately , I received a email to finish my contract of insurance, to call them. I did call and was asked "multiple" questions about my health and family history. After a few more days , I received an email that, I was not granted the insurance. For me , this company is a scam. I later acquired life/ burial insurance from 2 other businesses, which I am HAPPY to be with. Move on.....save yourself from them !

A bad company with a bad spokesperson

Their spokesperson is wearing an "arsesign". When will people ever learn that as a man it is a conscious decision to do that? It means "Today I woke up and decided to be the biggest arsesign I could possibly be". And you believe them! My sister dated a guy that cheated on her and I looked at his picture and said, "Duh! You haven't been listening. He has an arsesign"

They cheated us!

I had 2 accounts, one in my husband/s name and one in mine, paid each separately on my visa debit on autopay for several years. Without warning my husband's account disappeared - when I called them they said he did not have an account, and they hung up on me! We got cheated!

Horrible Understanding of Customer Relations

I tried to apply for a policy for my wife and myself, her husband. I told the agent, to make the payments for both of us for the 16th of Jan, 2026. Instead, she started my wife the same day, 9th of Jan. 2026. I again explained the date. It was as I was ignored. Back and forth with CS, it will take me over 2 weeks to get my payment back. TERRIBLE! customer relationship.

How can someone like you tell us to be honest? Lawson is on my t.v.ever five standing there grinning like the cat that ate the canary.I change the channel and he is on that one to.It seems that don't care what you are doing to our senior citizens that has nothing to do but watch t.v.and could not do it if they did due to their health That constant bombardment of nothing but commerical,s cause,s nothing anxiety and depression and that is a crime.It is called elderly abuse.I know because I am one of them.I don't expect anything to come of this because people like you care more about money than you do about us.There is a lot more compa nies doing the same thing.What I said here today is real and it is a crime but seems like no one cares.

Bottom line Liars

Bottom line Liars! Bait and switch. $10 a month get you nothing for the first two years and worthless after that. Do yourself a favor put that $10 in a high yield savings and you will get more than what this rip off company that prays on feeble old people. My aunt took her little money she got and bought this and died before the 2-year period. They just gave her kids the money she spent back $220, and it took forever. The only good thing is to know that that spokesman will be burning in Hell forever for his underhanded non-disclosure selling tactics. The disclaimer at the bottom of the screen is extremely difficult to read by a normal human and impossible by the elderly. What I do have to say is that if you do not do do justice and review the company you get what you pay for and in this case false promises.

Don't believe Jonathan, This is the most unbelievable ins the is bad as you can imagine.!!!!! My family!! is not getting anything for paying on a policy for over 3 yrs They just sent me a check for 158.00 SMH!!!

Called to cancel medical supplement

Called to cancel medical supplement policy on 9-25-2025, they never told me I had to hand write a cancellation mail or fax in. On 10-26-2025 after they took a payment from my checking account, and that was when I was told about the hand written cancellation. Because they were not honest from the beginning, I lost $151.00. Totally uncalled for a well known business to scam there customers
