Absolutely terrible. Destroyed valuable mid century European furniture which had been in my family for over 60 years. A pity as our family had used them in the past with no issues.

I've used them twice and both times very reliable. Great communication and ease of organisation. I liked that they wrapped everything in blankets to stop damage.

Great in Aussie...hopeless on arrival in NZ
I moved from Aussie to Marlborough. The Australian side of things was perfect. A great pre-packing team, packer and uplift team, so 5 stars....then I arrived in NZ and the service fell apart!
Once the container was ready to be delivered, I advised a manager at Conroy's Nelson about road closures, but the drivers were sent too late so sat at a roadblock for 90mins and when the 2 guys arrived, they were not happy and kept saying they had an hour to unload. I told them the road was re-opening so they were OK. That fell on deaf ears.
The driver raced up the driveway before even having a look at how he'd navigate a turn halfway up. His "spotter" stood there and did and said nothing as the truck hit garden edging.
He said he was going to reverse up, I said no way, you'll spin your wheels. He ignored me and gunned it in reverse, sliding into the draining ditch and putting ruts in the gravel and breaking 2 taillights. He turned around and drove up, parked it from the house and said they'd carry it.
I just wanted it all in the garage of living room, and with all boxes labelled either tools or other like kitchen/art etc.
As the driver passed me with a box that was framed prints, I said "all those can go in the house" I got nothing, and he put it in the garage! After the 3rd time telling him, I gave up.
The other lad put 2 mattresses in the living room when I clearly said in the bedroom obviously.
The driver tried to lift a very heavy and full 5 drawer toolchest, prob 60kg, to which I said that defo needs a dolly....he ignored me and dropped it, then got the dolly! Not a word of sorry.
I was helping them during my lunch break as at this point, I wanted these 2 off my property. Once done, the lad handed me forms to sign and without a word, got in the truck and drove off.
I unpacked the toolbox and it was dented at both ends, making the drop down ledges unusable.
I emailed a manager about this on the same day. I got no reply so called the head office to lodge a complaint. Someone called me back. He was very apologetic, and said it pained him to hear that at the very last step, things had gone wrong as they work so hard in a very competitive market to win business. I thought it was a very fair and honest conversation, but it ended up just being hot air and empty words.
On the 24th Nov, he sent the below, wiping his hands and asking me to make my own insurance claim as they had met their obligations under their conditions of carriage.
Dear Adam
We would like to acknowledge that you have the need to make a claim for loss/damage sustained to your goods. Please let us take this opportunity to offer our sincere apologies for this and any resulting inconvenience.
On checking our records, we note that you instructed us not to arrange insurance cover on your behalf. Your removal was carried out as per our Conditions of Contract for Removal and Storage under which we are not liable for any loss or damage.
If you arranged insurance cover with another insurer, we recommend you contact them immediately to lodge a claim.
I replied with the below on the same day. No reply has been sent and it's considered a close case.

I haven’t asked for a formal claim to be made formally, but complained about the overall service on the delivery day, that clouded an otherwise good experience.
Seeing as the damage was due to total negligence, surely this is covered directly by Conroys. The fact the staff member thought he could carry an 60-80kg metal toolbox on his shoulder up a steep driveway is beyond belief. I am convinced he was on drugs and he just didn’t listen to anything I was saying and was all fidgeting and over energetic.

At the end of the day, Conroy's took zero accountability for the actions of a clearly untrained, or perhaps uncaring staff member and I'm left to deal with my own repairs and claims.
I'd strongly not recommend Conroy's Nelson team to anyone, and probably not Conroy's NZ as management showed they just don't care and are all talk.

We were moved on the 18th of December and the guys at Conroy's were awesome. We helped with a lot of the moving stuff to make it easier and they did as much as they could. They were super quick, friendly and helpful as well. Have used in the past also and have found the same both times. Thanks!

Very Happy with Conroy. The guys did a very good job loading our furniture etc, they did more than expected.
The delivery date was put back a day but we understand that was out of Conroys hands, the ferries got delayed due to rough weather. We got delayed too.
They delivered early, friendly staff, the container was unloaded fast.
I would definitely recommend and use them again.

The pick up and drop off worked well and we were well informed at every step of the way.
Unfortunately the chests were damaged in the process. One had a large crack in the wood and another had a broken section. There was an original crack that was noted but these were newly damaged sections. Also, when they arrived, one chest had no wrapping on part of the chest.

A first class experience from quoting to packing and collecting and delivery, and finally to a few days later picking up boxes and packaging.
We were very happy with all aspects of this company including a very reasonable cost.
The friendly helpful staff did an excellent job and we can thoroughly recommend.

The whole process went smoothly from Grant coming out to quote our job, Leanne kept us informed of the process and answered all questions we had - A few days before we had confirmation as to what time the movers would be on site - On moving day Matia,Sam and Jacob arrived on time they were very professional and went above and beyond in moving our belongings- I can’t recommend Conroys highly enough

The moving team were great. They were on time, polite and worked well with us. Moving day was wet but the team just got on with it. The location had difficult access and this didn't faze them. Like the previous reviewer I got a call the day before to confirm the move, but nothing in between the original booking and that call. I had to check in the week before to make sure it was still on.

The personal visit from Grant when we were deciding who to move with was instrumental in our decision to use Conroy Removals.
All moving staff were excellent to deal with and very efficient in their work. Only one very minor breakage on the base of an audio system speaker.
The only slight criticism would be for more communication closer to the move time. Its a very anxious time and in addition to a call very close to the move out an in dates to check to see if move was still on, it would be great to get several calls prior to that - say a week before confirming all going to plan and a further earlier call checking to see if assistance or advice was required.
