He came and helped me when his colleagues ignored me. He went above and beyond to help me with my purchase and insurance. He made my experience pleasant. He gave me information on broadband for the future. Excellent customer service.

Staff available and very helpful, especially Ryan the tech guy who helped set up & was incredibly patient when encountering a glitch that took a couple of hours to sort out.

We’ve been doing business with Curry’s for a very long time and can honestly say that we’ve never had a problem with them. The shop staff are really helpful and they know what they are selling. A very reliable company that you can trust.
Plus the young lady who served us is extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.

Helpful staff that go above and beyond to please

I know what product I wanted. I stood next to it for several minutes, there was about 6 staff on the shop floor not serving anyone and chatting. I had to go over and ask someone to assist me.

My old Bosch’s washing machine finally spun its last load after some 18 years or so loyal service. So it comes as no surprise I went into my local curry’s store to replace it with another Bosch model , unfortunately the store had none in stock and as I needed a replacement as soon as possible I was told another store had one nearby so I decided to pick it up from there. Everything was arranged and paid for before I picked it up and it was a seamless hassle free job to take delivery of my new washing machine.

Staff fine but three stations before we found one that worked at the counter

Jake was friendly and helpful from the outset at the store. I had a bad experience using the customer care number when I had tried to do the order so went in store instead. Will definitely be back to Jake for any future purchases in curry’s. Made a big difference having such a pleasant customer service experience.

The assistant was very helpful, particularly with ordering on the computer, since I was buying two appliances and it was a bit complicated.

Went to buy a new TV, was recommended an LG. I was told:
- 1 year guarantee only but I should purchase the Currys repair offer for 5 years for £250
- Old TV couldn’t be recycled but if I gave it to the delivery drivers they may give me £10 for it
- Delivery and installation absolutely have to be on the same day.
Trusting the sales rep, I went through with the order and agreed to the extra warranty. I left the store, only to go on the Currys website and see that there was in fact an offer available to trade in my old TV for £250. So I went back to store, explained the situation, then needed to wait 15mins for a refund to be given, during which time I was told I needed to pay £30 for the old TV to be collected. Luckily the manager happened to be nearby and corrected the sales reps (2 of them) - the collection was free.
Feeling frustrated at the situation, I went home and looked at John Lewis’ website who were offering the same deal as Currys plus free installation (worth £135) and a 5 year guarantee with purchase. I decided to purchase the TV from John Lewis and ask Currys for a refund / cancel the order.
On returning to the same Currys store, I was met with an aggressive salesperson who decided to mansplain to me that I was wrong about the TV guarantee (it was also 5 years at Currys and the repair service was different - go figure) and that they would match the free installation so it “makes no sense to cancel”. I continued to say I wanted a refund to his clear exasperation and annoyance. He beckoned the manager.
The manager took me to the till, I assumed to do the refund. Alas, no. I stood waiting for 5minutes while he did something on his phone. Turns out he was trying to prove me wrong - he was on the John Lewis website. I again asked for a refund. He asked me if there was anything he could do for me to keep the order. My reply “train your staff and give me a good experience”. The refund took less than a minute.
I hope this is a one off, but my take out: staff can be very misinformed, so do check the website if you purchase from Currys. And if you do want to change your mind, be prepared to have to fight for it (and be mansplained to if you’re a woman - god forbid we are capable of buying a TV without a man….).
