This is a fantastic reminiscence tool and planning of activities we are a specialist dementia home and have been using this for about a month and I have five residents that wait for me to bring the daily sparkle round every morning

You can find CD support material at www.dailysparkle.co.uk/cd. Here you can find lyrics and fascinating facts which accompany each song. We do try to have the font size as large as possible so that it is easier to read but we are mindful that having it too large can increase the number of pages having to be printed. The lyrics and facts are saved as a PDF so it may be possible for you to zoom into the page which may make the text larger on screen.

Daily Sparkle Activities Coordinator training
As I have only been in the role for seven months, the training day was a great opportunity to meet other people providing activities in care homes. It covered a wide range of topics and I found the training on how to engage with residents with different levels of dementia very relevant. Together with the introduction to one page profiles it will help with planning the best activities for all abilities.
The trainer was very friendly & the course material available to download is a great toolkit which I’m sure I will return to again and again.

The Great Sparkle
This is a wonderful addition to any home struggling to do activities with their residents.
it is informative, interesting and very easy to understand.
Some of our residents loved it and it gave ideas to staff.

I am happy but would like more End State Dementia
I am happy with the Daily Sparkle for the most but in my care home we are deal with a lot of end stage dementia and would really, like a page for them.
Maybe ideas we could do for the resident. Maybe all about the senses.
Touch, Smell, Hear, Taste and See.

A great way to enhance the lives of everyone in the home.
We have used the daily sparkle in our Avery care homes for many years and they grow with the ever changing needs of our homes. Nothing is too much trouble for them, whether it is making personalised daily sparkle reminiscence newspapers for our residents or adding a particular subject one of residents would like to discuss. The daily sparkle can be used individually or as part of a group. With relatives, care staff or our dedicated activity team. Together we can reflect on times gone by and is an effective way of connecting people, prompting conversations and provides opportunities for residents of all cognitive abilities to enjoy and benefit from. It also helps the staff to learn more about the past and also about our residents, especially when memories are sparked from a story and this helps us get to know them on a more personal level helping us to provide more person centred care.
