Didn't know there was a review page for David Weekley till now. We bought our home in 2013 of Nov. “While the home design is appealing, the workmanship and attention to detail were disappointing. These issues make me question the quality control process. I hope the builder improves their standards, so future buyers don’t face the same problems.” The biggest one of all for me is a wall that is crooked, drives me nuts.

Terrible experience getting them to honor warranty items. They promised to fix the driveway with big cracks now with recent changes in mgt they are saying they will not do so.

I used to work for David Weekley Homes and loved the product and the people I worked alongside. I believed in the homes we were building, so much so that I purchased one myself.

But my experience took a painful turn.

I was terminated from my position the day before closing on my own David Weekley home—a home I had spent months preparing for emotionally, financially, and professionally. There was no warning, no support, and no explanation that made sense. Shortly after, I learned false information was being shared internally about why I was let go.

To make matters worse, I was not paid the commission on the final home I sold.

I want to be clear: there are great people at David Weekley Homes, and the homes themselves are beautiful. But what happened to me was deeply disappointing and left me questioning the values the company claims to uphold—especially when it comes to how they treat their own team members and honor their commitments.

If you’re considering buying or working with David Weekley Homes, I recommend asking questions and paying attention not just to the product—but to how people are treated behind the scenes.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction with my recent experience purchasing a home in Colorado Springs. I feel that I am being given the runaround regarding my transaction.

My realtor and I were verbally informed by the listing agent that we could either receive a discount or benefit from their 4.99% financing offer. I submitted an offer of $675,000 along with a refrigerator, which the seller accepted. However, when I went to provide my earnest money and sign the contract, the listing agent had added a clause stating that I was required to use David Weekley Finance in exchange for the discount on the home. This financing option has the highest interest rate.

Additionally, I noticed that they are offering a $4,000 decorating allowance to 'hometown heroes,' but I was told I could not access this benefit because the agent claimed I had already received a discount, which he classified as an incentive. However, the discount I received was not part of any promotion they are currently offering.

We purchased a home about a year ago in Alpharetta Georgia. The buying experience was easy and we love the house. But, we've had issues with our backyard. The gutters were not installed properly and everything it rains, it ruins the grass. Also, the lot isn't graded properly and we have standing mud on our patio every time it rains. We've been asking for it to be fixed and it still isn't.

The other problem is the main gate has been broken several times and for weeks at a time. The community is still under construction, so the main gate stays open all day, which is an issue in itself, but now because of the broken gate, it's open all night too. There have been safety concerns, people using our amenities and solicitation and David Weekley hasn't done anything after numerous complaints.

They are just terrible builder! Windows and sealing leaking and they don’t take any responsibility!

Put a deposit on a home. Had a job loss. David Weekly would not return the deposit despite the job loss. Hid behind what they could do legally vs the right moral/ethical decision in our personal turbulent times. Would never again consider David Weekly for one of their homes and hope you don’t either. In addition their “custom homes” are highly controlled through their design centers and vendors who supply the design centers. The selection advertised was often not available. Ie custom was misleading in terms of true customization.

My review here is specifically for the Adelton Community and Ms.Triva Martinez, the sales consultant, and Joe Scherer, the builder.

Working with Ms. Triva with David Weekley was a game changer and truly the only reason we made it to the finish line in our home buying journey. As first time home buyers the process would have been scary, unknown, and complex. Ms. Triva showed us full dedication from assisting us in finding our perfect house, to explaining the ins and outs of the contracts, and went above and beyond in the actual purchase process. Not once did she falter or hesitate, and was incredible and remarkable in assisting and advising us throughout the whole entire undertaking. There was never a time Ms. Triva said “that’s not my job”. She took the time to understand our needs and preferences, and we were treated like VIPs. For us her professionalism and her guidance was truly unmatched, and her deep knowledge of the process put us at ease. David Weekley Homes are truly beautiful, but in reality it was Ms. Triva who made the difference. She was always available to answer our questions, provide guidance, and negotiate on our behalf. We are beyond grateful for Ms. Triva’s expertise and support, and we can’t recommend her highly enough!

Mr. Joe Scherer, our builder, was above and beyond professional and kind. He was ready and willing to answer any questions we had from the minute we signed our contract, until we got our keys in our hands. He was infinitely patient with my little 8 year old son asking him questions a mile a minute during our walk-through assessments, too. Mr. Joe was extraordinarily forthcoming throughout the entire build, something that is very important to us as customers and as people. On our more formal assessments he took a great deal of time and effort to explain home ownership, the ‘run’ of the house, the warranty, and a myriad of other tiny details that others would not have taken the time to explain. I’ll definitely be recommending Ms. Triva, Mr. Joe, (and David Weekley!) to all my friends and family.
