It's more than 45 minutes a day, but it provides an opportunity to those later on in life to get access to better work. The instructors are helpful and their feedback is fair.

When I started my journey with DistanceLearningCentre.com doing an Access to Physiotherapy Diploma, I was unsure about coming back to education after years. I was guided and supported all the way throughout my course (Feb 2025-May 2026).

I recently completed the Access to HE Diploma in Business through distance learning, and I had a very positive experience overall. Everything throughout the course was smooth and well organised from start to finish.

The tutors were really helpful, supportive, and quick to respond whenever I needed guidance. The course materials were clear and easy to follow, which made studying from home much more manageable.

I was able to complete the course on time and successfully pass, and I’m very happy with the support I received throughout the programme. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone looking for a flexible way to continue their education and progress towards university or a career in business.

Honestly can’t fault them in anyway shape or form. Being out of education for a few years I was scared coming back and had the goal of going uni this year too. The amount of support and constant help I received from my tutors was amazing especially from Lucy. The amount materials and support available was so reassuring.
Honestly compared to my mates who went down a similar path but with a different company and hearing their stories compared to my experience with DLC. I can strongly say if you’re wanting to get back into education this is the company to go with.

Over the course, I had three different tutors overall, and my experience varied significantly between them. At the beginning of the course, I did not have much prior knowledge and was still learning the basics. During this time, assessments were given to me with very little guidance or support from my tutor. I often felt like I was expected to already know what I was doing, despite being there to learn. When I emailed asking for help or clarification, the responses I received were not very supportive and often left me feeling stupid or embarrassed for asking questions rather than encouraged to improve.
Because of this, I requested a change of tutor, hoping a different tutor would provide more guidance and support. Unfortunately, my experience did not improve. I had Zoom meetings with this tutor where, at times, I felt uncomfortable because they would laugh at things I said about my work. Rather than helping me understand where I had gone wrong or how to improve, I again felt unsupported. I also received very little guidance during the university application process, which was especially disappointing because applying to university can already be confusing and stressful. I felt I had to complete parts of the process without fully understanding what I needed to do.
The lack of support at the beginning and throughout much of the course had a direct impact on me academically. Because I received so little guidance during the earlier stages, my grades ended up being lower than I had hoped, which ultimately affected my tariff points.
However, my experience changed significantly when I reached the final unit and was assigned a third tutor. She was much more supportive and approachable. The way she responded to emails felt completely different — I felt listened to, encouraged, and genuinely supported. She actively checked in with students and asked us to email at least once a week so she knew we were engaged and to ensure communication stayed open, which I really appreciated.
I also want to recognise student support, who were consistently kind and caring. They would regularly email just to check how I was doing, which often felt like more support than I had received from my earlier tutors. Having someone take the time to check in made a big difference.
Overall, while my final tutor and student support provided a much more positive experience, I feel the lack of support during the earlier stages of the course had a lasting impact on both my confidence and academic outcomes.

I had an amazing experience , tough at times juggling work and studying at the same time but the distance learning and the tutors was amazing I would highly recommend .

From start to finish DL provided me with the upmost direct care and attention, when it came to understanding how to use, work, submit, etc. Always at hand when needed when I was stuck or needed help.

Just finished my Access to Allied Health biology and psychology diploma. I needed a fully online option to fit around work home life. DLC was the perfect choice! The support from the tutors was brilliant, the course content was easy to access and provided the foundations I needed to know how to complete the assignments. The UCAS support was an unexpected bonus. The course has provided me with what I needed to get an offer from my first choice universities for a physiotherapy degree. Highly recommend DLC as an option for anyone who does not have the A Levels they need for university!

The teaching was good and the tutor was very supportive.

I have no issue with the way the course is run, the tutors are available and quick to respond. Students must accept that studying from home requires self discipline, and it doesn’t fall on your tutors shoulders to complete the course for you. They are there for guidance, encouragement and to discuss your own thoughts on how to complete an assessment which I can 100% say both my tutors did this exceptionally well.

My only gripe, like many others, is the extra fees incurred for not completing within 1 year whilst working full time and also taking on an additional job. However, this is clearly explained and something I took on the chin because the end goal meant more to me than £85, and if I were more disciplined in the early stages then I have no doubt that I could have completed within the timescale.

For future students, maybe think about how disciplined you can be while working full time. Also, be prepared for your social life to take a beating if you want to complete in 1 year and avoid additional fees, otherwise expect it to cost you more. Overall, happy with the course, tutors support and everything is clearly stated on the website with how the programme is ran.
