Dobbies Garden Centres - Galton Avis 327

The cafe is very popular and there was a queue when I arrived. I want to praise the bearded assistant who despite being understaffed with a new recruit on the till was very hard working, professional and supportive of the young man at the till who was trying hard but making mistakes. The bearded guy sorted the mistakes, dealt with customers who had the wrong order, made the coffee with a female assistant’s help and just about kept the show on the road.
The queues were long and they needed more help though! But well done to this person !

Had to stop here on way home from family emergency to get food the cheese and ham toasties we order were filled with thick mustard which we were not aware off I like mustard but we were unable to eat the food due to the amount in them a waste of £11 person over priced over seasoned totally over rated

Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. The same young man kept appearing when I needed help. Must've been fed up with me by the end of my shopping trip, yet he said "that's what we're here for".

Ordered 2 jacket potatoes came with mostly unappettising dull looking lettuce 2 half slices of cucumber a hint of red onion no tomatoes.
Not a lot of cheese on the potato the whole lot was bland no taste whatsever. Very disappointing.
Have given 1 star as no other choice.

Dobbies Galton - I like Dobbies, but this Sunday (8th March) you completely damaged the perception and image and experience. Full English Breakfast and you are told when ordering, there is no bacon and no mushrooms! Yet, you still charged full price for fewer items. No notice telling people you were out of these. Yet knowing how important your breakfasts, where did the stock check go wrong? Why did no one pop out to get some? Then, to add insult, we had to wait 35 minutes for breakfast to arrive and no apologised for the delay. Other people were also experiencing issues around us with their orders. No one seemed to have a grip on the situation and customer service is always a challenge when we visit. Not enough staff. This has really impacted my perception. This is how to go about losing customers and then you wonder why.

Poor selection of stock, half empty areas and needs a lot of work. Rusty plant supports in outside area. A lot of the compost didnt have prices on the board.

Customer service not interested (I have problems with my Dobbies card, not interested in rectifying).
Service at cafe, like watching paint drying (Oh no, paint dries faster!!).
However, one bright spot, garden assistant Steve Jeffries is excellent, really knowledgable and always super helpful about anything garden plant related

We ordered a large full English for £8 turned up and could be classed as a child meal !!!
1 piece of bacon, small, over cooked, 1 small sausage, 2 hash browns, cold as were the beans, absolutely disgusting and would never go back.
Be warned!!!

Xmas night weymouth store. Very dssapointed. No xmas trees no entertainment as advertised for tickets. Hardly any offers on. All in all a total disaster!!!

The Staff in the Restaurant are so Friendly, what a difference when a New Restuarant Manager, took over approximately10 months ago, and today had some more good news when i visited the restaurant when i heard that Alistair has been made up to Team Leader which he deserves, he goes the extra mile for Customer Service,always has a chat, and makes you feel really welcome, they now have the best friendly Staff,since we have been going there, and that is a long time, lets hope they all stay for a long time, it makes it so nice to visit well done, and very dog friendly woof🐾 woof

I was able to find the plants I required at reasonable prices. The garden centre is well laid out and the staff are friendly and helpful

My husband felt unwell on arrival and Steve put a chair in the shade and another member of staff offered him some water and Steve stayed with us until my husband felt able to continue to the cafe, giving us some handy hints on pest control while we rested and then directed us to the plants we wanted. The cafe staff were lovely and one of them who was collecting the plates walked behind my husband until he sat down to ensure he was ok. All the plants looked lovely and healthy and a great selection.

Friendly, knowledgeable, polite and pleasant staff.

Horrible! The seating is filthy, stained & hairy. Tables need clearing, stale food - yuk!

I’m a Dobbies member, it was my birthday , so my husband and I got cake and drinks each 🎉🎁🥰.
We also had a good browse , and bought some garden vouchers as a gift

We ate in the restaurant and had a lovely breakfast, purchased a few items in store and then renewed our membership. All staff were friendly and very helpful.

We called in as it was my birthday and we had a "treat" to enjoy. Looked all around the store and outside and chose two plants to buy - we seldom come away from Dobbies without buying something! Very welcoming and helpful staff.

A friendly cafe with good coffee and food!
