Dobbies Garden Centres - Marple Avis 333

Restaurant staff and garden centre staff both very polite and helpful.

Staff very helpful and friendly. The cafe is clean but still some food items still missing eg scones. Some plants are over priced.

Should earn a place in the most improved. Staff are excellent. Friendly and helpful and that counts for a lot. Still a few niggles to be sorted out but I am sure that they will get there. I enjoy a visit again.

Brought a long time friend (65 years+) to Dobbies for the first time for a look round and a shop and she enjoyed the whole morning very much indeed along with the Coffee and Millionaire Shortbread we also bought. Yes a lovely morning and a number of items were bought from the Garden Centre

Love going to dobbies now it has been refurbished. The only let down is the toilets they really do need to be refurbished urgently really letting the store down!! The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The cafe are is lovely.

Plenty of choice, laid out in easy to find sections that are presented well. Pleasant assistant at the till, I will return.

The staff are excellent and so helpful but twice now I've had to pay for 2 coffees in the cafe as it hasn't showed up that I'm owed them even though I've paid for a club card and haven't been in to use them

I visited my local Dobbies Garden Centre and purchased a new lawnmower. I had one of my free coffees while I was there. Always a pleasure to have a look round whether I buy anything or not.

I enjoy visiting the Marple Dobbies and now look forward to my free coffees and scones- my birthday treat.

I went in store to spend some gardening vouchers I got for Christmas. I’d never been to Dobbies before. I went with a list of seeds I wanted, and to my pleasant surprise they had everything on my list. I found a few seeds that were a bit more unusual, so I ended up purchasing those too. Really well laid out store, all the seeds were in the correct order. I spoke to a male staff member (sorry I don’t recall his name), who helped me get a planter I was after. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was very approachable and friendly. Although the colour I wanted wasn’t available in the end, he was happy checking for me. I just purchased it in a different colour and I am very happy with my purchase.
The female member who served me at the till was just as friendly and pleasant too. Again I don’t recall her name, but we had a small chat whilst she was putting everything through. She was very patient whilst I obtained my member number from my emails as my card hadn’t come through the post at that time. I spent all of my vouchers and was very happy with every aspect of my visit. I look forward to going back with my little boy as I noticed they have a soft play area next to the restaurant, very handy!

I have only awarded an average score
because the system to order food and drinks isn’t good enough especially when it is busy. It is not uncommon to be in the queue for 20 minutes. The staff need more
support. The garden centre is in an affluent
area of Stockport but money isn’t being
spent on the overall facilities. Toilets let it down and usually food choices are not available. People go to strikes Wilmslow instead . A real shame

I appreciate the cafe is franchised out but Marple's cafe needs a complete overhaul with a different provider. Our visits over the last 3 months have been very disappointing as they only offer a hot drink and cakes - that's it. No hot food or snacks and the customer queues are ridiculously long as their serving regime is so disorganised. For a change we went to Altrincham and had a totally different experience- prompt service and full menu available.

Exceptional service by staff on my returning a faulty kettle. They gave me a credit card of the amount it had cost me almost a year ago, or I could have selected another one. I didn’t see one l liked on this occasion so happy to receive the credit.
