Dream Cottages Avis 8

We are currently in the Georgian Hideaway in Weymouth, booked through Sykes but controlled locally by Dream Cottages. We complained immediately about the cleanliness of the place, dog poo in the ‘enclosed covered patio’ which in reality is a terraced concreted yard similar to Coronation Street. The whole place has wooden flooring covered in paint splashes, looking more like the carpets have just been ripped up. Patch painting in rooms with different shades just add to the overall rushed appearance of this property. We were told limited parking outside was available. Well it is if you can get it and that’s only for an hour. The public carpark costs approx £15 a day, which wasn’t in the description. The location of this Georgian hideaway is in a grotty little street in an area of town that is not for holiday makers to be walking around after dark. We raised all these issues with Dream Cottages and received an email which was at best lacking any compassion and at worse was a tough $hit attitude. We responded with a threat to review the place and customer service in the same vein they had dealt with us. Later that afternoon we received a phone call to say they would consider compensation for the parking. Keen to enjoy ourselves we reluctantly agreed. The day before our holiday finished we received another message saying no compensation would be given, however they had changed the listing to chargeable parking nearby. 🤷🏻‍♂️The only part of this holiday I won’t be disappointed with is leaving early later today. Do not book with Dream Cottages or through Sykes in Dorset and do not trust the photos or descriptions from them, as they are very misleading. Ps I have given 1 star because there is no option to give zero.

Stayed at a property in Weymouth (56 The Esplanade) which had the most awful noise problem, there was a cocktail bar next door which played extremely loud music until after 2am every night. The property is not double glazed and the noise levels meant that no-one was able to sleep until after 2am. We have a young family and were staying for the children to compete at the National Surf Life Saving Championships. When we raised this problem with Sykes & Dream Cottages, we said that they should be notifying guests of this problem, they brushed us off saying that they did state that the property is on the busy Esplanade and some businesses are open until 5am there was absolutely no empathy or apology. If this agenecy were being clear and transparent as any reputable letting agency should be, they should explain that this is the only property along this Esplanade which has this problem due to the cocktail bar being next door. We spoke to lots of other parents of competitors who were also staying along the Esplanade in rented properties or B&Bs and no-one else experienced anything like this. The answer given was unprofessional, with no apology at all. Part of their reply was that when we first arrived, we had asked if the property was vacant on our day of check-out as we were wanting to rent it to use in the day so that we didn't need to vacate so early, as the childen were competing on the beach opposite from 7am, to use the fact that we had asked to add on a day when we first arrived was again a very unapologetic and unsympathetic response. We would never choose to use this company again and will not be recommending. The National Surf Life Saving Championships are due to be held at Weymouth again next year, attracting a great many famillies and competitors and we feel this issue needs to be addressed in the description of this property so that this complany is not grossly misleading any other famillies. We will certainly make sure that people know that the customer service from this company is non-existant.

I recently booked a holiday through Sykes Cottages. Unfortunately I left a drawer unemptied, which contained items valued at over £200. Skyes had all of our contact details - one phone call could have allowed us to recover our property

We contacted the agency immediately and persistently for 8 days, but staff were evasive and never returned calls/emails. I was told the my property had likely been returned to "Dream Cottages" based in Weymouth. Dream Cottages and Sykes Cottages share a company address

Finally, on day 8, we were informed the items had been “destroyed”

Dream/Sykes Cottages disregard for other peoples' belongings is disgraceful. We’ll never book with them again, and we urge others to stay away.

Our family booked a cottage to come down and stay with us in weymouth for Christmas. Sadly my step daughters husband has just died (he was the person who paid for the cottage) so my step daughter has asked to cancell the booking. Nothing has been offered from Dream cottages except from they might get some money back if they can rebook the property. This is not a last minute cancellation they had 8 weeks notice. There has been no compassion from the company. They just want the money regardless of the issues.
Dream cottages more like nightmare cottages.
The cottage was £2400 for 4 days.
Not only does my step daughter has to deal with the loss of her husband she now has to find the money for the funeral.
There response was well you should of have insurance....
What kind of scum says something like that to someone who has just lost there husband and 4 year old son who has just lost his dad.
Dream Cottages are nothing but crooks and pure scum bags.
Please people never ever use them as they are just the worst people !!!!
All I can say is please

They will not respond to any requests. All calls are automated,not possible to speak to a person.

All changes need to be done, via the app. However my booking wasn't visible on the app. It took 7 days to get them to update the app with my booking at that point it was too late.

Went to their website, live chat is "busy" ring a number, ring the number it's just a IVR with all routes going to the website. Only other option is what's app, took 48+ hours to get a response #1 then each subsequent response was -24 hours later ..

Post holiday was asked to review, did, got a follow up call from Cornish holidays. Told them of the issue, they contacted dream holidays. Dream holidays took no accountability to the issue. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Even the
Cornish holidays rep was appalled by how indignant the dream holidays rep was when they spoke with them.

This company are a crowd of charlatans. They are taking bookings from both Airbnb and Sykes Cottages (which is in apparent breach of their agreement with the latter). We discovered this to our cost when we arrived at one of their properties at Princes Street in Dorchester. We arrived late at about 11.30 pm with a keylock code given to us by Sykes with whom we had booked our stay. We were shocked and astonished to discover some American vacationers who had apparently also booked the same property through Airbnb. The owners of the property made no effort to reach out to us with any sort of apology and indeed have refused to fully reimburse us the cost of two nights in a nearby budget hotel.
How they are able to get away with this is beyond us. Avoid if you can.
