I used DWF Law for two separate matters…

I used DWF Law for two separate matters and they are the worst firm I have ever dealt with, Dan Millward was appointed to deal with both matters and I was assured he was experienced and knew what he was doing.

For the first issue Dan forgot he was meant to be dealing with it, failed to provide a response in time and added two further delays, he blamed two of the delays on “annual leave”- when I explained to him that courts don’t accept this as a valid reason he was very sarcastic, annual leave is no excuse and a big firm such as this should know how to deal with things when people are away. Eventually he sorted some of the matter but missed further paperwork and failed to address some of it, he openly admits to not liking to deal with liability and couldn’t care if people are satisfied.

On the second matter I instructed him on he used the wrong laws, when challenged he became very arrogant and said he was a “grade 2/3 fee earner” he said he thinks he can “get out of it”- so will and gives incredibly dangerous advice. He said he’d look into the matter again with a LIP (Litigant In Person), he admitted to taking advantages of these cases and stated that they’re easier to win, despite the fact The Law Society states you should never underestimate the case of a Litigant In Person. When the LIP told him the solicitor who originally advised had only dealt with one case like this before he replied “maybe they’ll deal with two then” and laughed. Dan Millward is very much like a politician, he claims to know what he’s doing and makes promises he can’t keep and when he’s proven wrong with the clear facts he fails to acknowledge or explain why. Dan Millward is known to provoke people and then uses this to his advantage.

I’d completely avoid this firm and wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Daniel Lewis made contact regarding a historic motor claim acting on the behalf of my previous Insurer. After touching base, the long standing issue was resolved in a few weeks, something that the insurers were not competent to do which caused me great anxiety at the time. They do what they say on the tin, very courteous, good communication, minimal jargon, maximum results. Thank you

Tenancy Deposit Protection Dispute

I dealt with Sloane Mills directly as a tenant after discovering my deposit hadn’t been protected properly. She gave clear, pragmatic advice from the outset and always kept the bigger picture of the claim in mind, explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand.

She was very on top of court deadlines, communicated promptly throughout, and was reassuring to deal with. Thanks to her approach, the matter was resolved without the need to go to court, and I felt I achieved a really good outcome.

Highly recommended.

My car insurers passed my case to this…

My car insurers passed my case to this company in November 2025.
I have heard nothing from them other than 1 anonymously signed letter -literally signed DWF Law LLP on November 24th which requested any documents from the Court to be passed on. What Court? Has it gone to Court? etc
Then silence.
Today, 12th February 2026, I have tried to phone them: four times through the direct number of the Liverpool FRU team, where my call rings for 5 mins and is then ended and three times through their main reception desk. The best reception staff lady was Kerry, who did at least try to connect me to the FRU team.
Unfortunately, when I actually got to finally speak to someone, this 'someone' ended the call. I only managed to say hello!

I have spent the last 3 hours on the phone to dwf and have not got past 'hello'

Communication is not their strong point.

Currently holing up my claim even although third party liability has been admitted. Completely ignoring my solicitor. Looking like now we have to go to court and I may also lose my new car due to racking up debts after my accident with having to take several months off work. Now this absolute shame of a company are making my life even harder. I’ve been advised that if I lose my new car due to not being able to keep up with all my bills then I should take dwf to claims court on this matter.
Dwf should be ashamed of them selfs stop delaying it ruining peoples life’s.

Disgraceful Service 

The most useless Solicitors I’ve ever heard of they have been dealing with my insurance company for three years now still in the same situation from the start promised compensation regarding the poor Service still awaiting on that too this Law company should be shut down as they don’t know what they’re doingJust choose a company who knows what they’re doing definitely not DWF

DWF Group are representing their client for damages caused to my property.
I have provided DWF with all the information requested and ensured the reference is in the subject field in square brackerts as requested.
They have not had the courtesy to acknowledge reciept in anyway or respond. I consider this behaviour to be unprofessional and reflect an uncaring attitude.

Aprroximately useless

I was directed to this lot by Openreach/BT after they, or their contractors, erroneously demolished 10 or 15m of 25 year old, 2m high hedge. After filling in claim forms, providing photographs, and proof of my ID, I have heard nothing after 5 weeks, Today I learned that the BT claims have been transferred to Keoghs in Leeds.. I wonder why.

Only a poor business would use DWF as their solicitor.

Currently going through legal process with their client Direct Line. DWF have consistently missed deadlines, gave inaccurate information and purposefully delayed correspondence as often as possible. Looking forward to getting to put this to them in person in court next month.

Shambolic

I pity anybody who has to deal with this shower.
DWF must be financially incentivised to avoid settling claims and making payment. DWF made things as difficult as possible with the aim of frustrating me hoping I would give up and disappear.
I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with these clowns following an incident with an Openreach van driver.
I must have had to contact DWF well over 15 times, despite messages left nobody returned my calls.
Somehow they even managed to never receive my email, how is that possible. Nobody takes ownership or shows any interest.
Matters only got resolved because I had to be proactive and take ownership. The only way things got resolved was by me “taking the bull by the horns”
Totally unprofessional, uncaring and awkward.
Trustpilot show DWF with a 51% rating of One Star !!!
Despite having my claim reference BTP115013, please don’t give your standard response of saying you will investigate matters. Based on my unpleasant experience I have no confidence in your investigation.
Truly hope I never have to deal with these clowns again.

Absolute rubbish

Absolute rubbish. Recieved an email from this company in my junk, contact telephone number on there. Rang multiple times on different days trying to find out what was going on, no answer, nobody returned my call. Ccj claim entered in the meantime so they were obviously at work and just ignorant. Now saying I have to pay the court fee even though the balance was paid before. Shocking. Wouldn't recommend. Also the company who I originally had the total outstanding haven't been paid by them as they keep sending me a reminder 😂 shocking.

We got there eventually

I first became involved with DWF.Law in the summer of 2022 when they started legal proceedings to evict the tenants of a rental flat which I wanted to sell. The tenants eventually vacated the flat in April 2023, but left it in a terrible state, so we then had to attempt to reclaim the costs incurred in getting it back to its original condition. Up until this point Sloane had been my contact at DWF, and I always felt she was very professional and also approachable, responding quickly to my emails. From September 23 to July 25 I was passed between three different Dispute Resolution Paralegals to trace the tenants, issue court papers to claim the expenses, and when successful actually get the money. Although this started well, I felt in this period that I needed to chase before any action was taken. I have no experience of how long these things take, so I may be being unfair. However, in July 25 Sloane was back on my case and she has just informed me that the tenants have paid my claim in full. I am of course delighted, and actually quite surprised, as I had really given up hope of ever seeing the money. So over all, I am extremely satisfied with the way DWF (and especially Sloane) handled my case, especially given the result, but have deducted one star for the 22 months of slow progress.

Claim journey and eviction of tenant

DWF were very supportive over a long period trying to obtain tenant eviction, non-payment of rent, damage and replacement of missing items.
They finally managed to obtain an agreed settlement figure, which avoided court proceedings.

Exceptional company and staff

After a dreadful experience with 2 other legal firms, the DWF team were fantastic. The team were extremely professional and knowledgable and provided excellent guidance throughout the litigation process leading to a successful outcome. Communication was exemplary and a lesson to other law firms.
