I purchased a €1.90 ebook advertised on Instagram, only to later discover that it automatically enrolled me in a subscription with additional charges that were not clearly disclosed. A second charge was taken just days later.
What followed was a very long and exhausting email exchange with customer support.
For weeks, I received generic replies, repeated screenshots, messages in different languages (Elisa is using italian or english), and no direct answers to my questions. Each time I pushed back, the refund offer slowly increased — first €17, then $20, and finally $34 (yes, € and $).
The whole process lasted around 3 months.
I honestly don’t know whether I could have obtained a higher refund or even the full amount if I had continued, but at some point I had to stop. I accepted the partial refund, blocked my card, and ended the communication because it became mentally draining and time-consuming.

This experience taught me how these schemes work: they rely on confusion, delay, and customer fatigue.

If you decide to fight it, know that persistence can lead to a partial refund — but be prepared for a long process.

Es una trampa. No sé cómo ni de que forma llegué a esa página de verdad. El tema es que un día dice que se rebajaron casi 50 dolares de una suscripción cuando era un libro de 3 a 4 euros. Y no reembolsan.

There is obiously an intention to scam people , by having a baite ad out to buy a ebook for 2 dollars, and by that you get an email telling they redrawn 49,90 dollars for another ebook, when going to their homepage, you can find information about an ongoing purchase a subscription that will go in for a specific package, every 15 days a new ebook will arrive, I sent an email to support, about cancellatione,

It is a fraud. They lure you with 1.9 dollar book then take 50$ at each new release as part of a subscription you didn't make.
And there is no way to cancel it.
I hope this prevents another person from making the same mistake i did

sono dei ladri truffatori, con la scusa di farti pagare 1,90 ti innescano un abbonamento nascosto e poi ti prendono otre i 40€ ogni 10 giorni circa, sono dei truffatori da mettere in galera immediatamente.

Una truffa!!! Non ho mai sottoscritto abbonamenti e mi sono trovata un addebito di €45!!!
Già scritto per Disdire.
Ho fatto richiesta di risarcimento. Vedremo.

Acaban de estafarme, compré a través de un anuncio de instagram un ebook que valía menos de 2€ el cual no he recibido y de repente me llega un mensaje para decirme que me cobran una suscripción de 48€ cuando yo no me he suscrito a nada. Les he enviado un correo y no sé nada.

I normally read Trustpilot before buying anything online. But this was an e-book for USD1,90. Stupid mistake. I´ve been scammed !! The ad didn´t say anything about a subscription. I paid and received an e-mail with a download link. Not impressed, so not planning to order more. 3 days later there is a charge for USD49,90 on my card. I immediately e-mail them to say they have charged med by mistake and that I didn´t order anything. I would never ever buy an ebook with a charge of USD49,90. Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson doesn´t even charge that much. The reply..... They claim I´ve signed up for a subscription. Several e-mails (with what seems to be a ChatGPT thing) they offer a refund of USD17, referring to "European Law" (which is rubbish !). I decline, - several e-mails later they offer USD27. I decline and tell them exactly what I think. No way I´m paying for something I didn´t order not sign up for. They haven´t even sent me a link to download whatever they claim I´ve ordred ! So I´ve put in a claim to Mastercard with a lot of attachment (all their stupid e-mail replies and link to this Trustpilot page - which shows at least 22 other persons have experienced the same scam.

Mi sono trovata ad essere truffata da questa piattaforma del valore di quasi 100 euro. Me ne sono accorta solo perchè controllo abitualmente il mio conto per verificare che mi risulti tutto.
Ho fatto segnalazione alla banca con tanto di blocco della carta, denuncia dai carabinieri e richiesta di risarcimento.
Fate attenzione, è una truffa!!!!

Confermo quanto detto in tutte le altre recenzioni: do 1 perchè non è possibile dare "zero negativo". State attenti, rimanete alla larga!!! Inoltre non è comprensibile come mai le autorità competenti, quali Carabinieri, Polizia Postale etc. non siano ancora intervenuti.

Es un engaño. Te dicen que el libro cuesta 1.99€. Haces el pago de 1.99, te envían el ebook por correo electrónico, días más tarde me pasan un cargo de 48 €. Al reclamarlo te dicen que es una subscripcion, pero que te hacen devolucion en 5-6 dias, sigues reclamando y dicen que tu banco te lo ha rechazado,....

CUIDADO, es un engaño. Te dicen que el libro cuesta 1.99. Yo lo compré, hice el pago de 1.99, me envían el ebook por correo electrónico y días más tarde me pasan un cargo de 48 €. En ningún sitio pone que te harán otro cargo de 48 €. Me salvó que mi tarjeta es de recarga y no tenía dinero cargado, sino me quedo sin 48 €.

LADRI. Pericolosi truffatori che chiedono qualche euro per scadenti pubblicazioni sui cani, e poi addebitano 50 dollari al mese, finché ovviamente i malcapitati non se ne accorgono. Da film Tototruffa in chiave online.

SCAMMERS!!!!! Is there a way to report this to the police?? The company details are on the website, they are located (allegedly) on Florida, there's also EIN number, but considering that I m from Serbia, basically, I cant do anything..

Same experience as other people. I bought a book for 1.99 USD, got charged 49.99 USD three days later out of the blue. The problem is that when buying an ebook you have no idea it has to do with ebooks.net. It's under a completely different page, name, there is nothing about subscription. It only says about it in the hidden conditions of ebooks.net so you possibly can't know what you are subscirbing to. Deceiving practices that are illegal in my country. It's obvious scam.

Bought one e-book for training dogs for 1.99 USD and after 3 days it took 50 uSD and that happened 2 times after that. just noticed that they have written with small font that were subscribing.

I bought the Italian cooking ebook. The recipes are good and simple to follow, but I would have preferred more variety. Some recipes are quite similar. Anyway, it’s fine for beginners in the kitchen. Customer service was available and ready to solve a problem with the download

Mi associo a quando detto nelle altre recensioni: sono dei ladri veri e propri. Appena ho sollevato il problema, erano trascorsi meno dei tre giorni da loro indicati per disdire l’abbonamento mai sottoscritto di 49,90 $, mi ha risposto sempre la solita Liliana dicendo che in 5/7 giorni mi avrebbero restituito il denaro cosa che non è successa anzi a distanza di 10 giorni mi scrivono che, un fantomatico team non ha ritenuto valida la mia disdetta pervenuta dopo tre giorni. Sono dei ladri ma io mi rivolgerò alle autorità preposte alla protezione dei consumatori per sgominare queste vere e proprie bande di ladri.
