Great food, fantastic service, super value for money

We visited ego in Shrewsbury today for the first time. The Sunday lunch was fab, lovely beef, good selection of vegetables. Good service,happy staff, not left waiting long.

We visited Ego - Sutton-in-Ashfield on Saturday 11th May 24 at around 5pm. Unfortunately we were incredibly disappointed. It didn't start great when the waiter told us that they couldn't make one of the drinks we had ordered due to having no mint. We had food (which was lovely and beautifully cooked!) However I asked for some mayonnaise which they forgot to bring, when I asked if I could cancel the mayo, the water brought it to the table so I had to explain that unfortunately I'd asked for it to be cancelled as I'd nearly finished my meal. We were asked if we would like pudding to which we said yes please so the menu was brought to us. However we then spent around 20minutes waiting for someone to come back and take our order which they never did. The restaurant wasn't that busy either there weren't alot of people waiting for food inside. In the end we decided to pay for our meal and left. Terrible slow service and felt forgotten. One of the waiters asked if we were OK to which I stated "not really, they forgot my mayonnaise with my main course and we were going to have a dessert, but have been left waiting around 20minutes with no one coming to take our order." There was one young lady that was just stood by the bar the whole time who gave us our dessert menu but she came back to see if we wanted a dessert, she was just stood doing nothing the whole time. When I explained that we weren't happy to the waiter his reaction was just "oh" he never even apologised.

We visited to Eco restaurant Cannock A5 for lunch time menu the food was very poor overcooked no fish in the batter that was advertised as haddock fillet the steak like over cooked burger pizza a slab of overcooked cheese chicken served with 6 green beans and a spoon of mash. When we complained about the size of a mini sweet the waitress started to cry because we mentioned it
I did not expect to receive a lunchtime bill of £88.00 with only one bottled water so sorry to say we will not be visiting again we gave it a try because it is local but very disappointing

My husband and I went yesterday to ego Lytham for our anniversary the meal started well we chose the price fix menu good service nice starter main course steak was very tough the waiter said it was because I chose to have it well done but it wasn't well done at all we then chose mini sweets and coffee then price for 3 courses was £22 99 plus extra £2 for coffee however when we paid the bill we were told the sweets were not included even with the extra £2 + for coffee been several times before and been happy but won't be returning after yesterday

Looks fabulous and the staff are very attentive and pleasant. I was being treated but thought it was pricey. The small dessert with coffee is miniscule, although delicious! I had the chilli prawns with linguine which was spicy (a positive) but otherwise had no flavour which I fed back to the waitress. My guts have been slightly 'off' since, and I suspect it's down to this dish. The best dish was the liver and rosemary pate. I could definitely taste the rosemary. Overall, disappointing.

We had lunch today with two guests from America and we were all so disappointed with the food. Everything was overcooked - calamari starter virtually inedible, fish & chips and pie all burnt and overcooked. Very poor. A great shame because the ambience and staff were really pleasant - just let down badly by the food.

Went for early dinner with my partner today, we saw the hanging kebab Thursday deal advertised and ask what the deal was, the stressed out waiter brought us a further menu. We ordered the pil pil prawns to start, the mixed kebab and lamb kebab as mains. Got to say that the kebab meat was overcooked and tasteless, served cold and we had to wait 5mins for the kebab to arrive after being given our salad and bread, the honey halloumi and sweet potatoes were to follow and actually were the best of the whole meal. Been asked by the waiter I express my feeling and she said that pass the feedback to the chef, after a few minutes she said the kebab was preprepared and the chef had to cook the chicken for longer🤔 Having eaten in Ego Stockton Heath we were very disappointed and will definitely not go back to this one.

Was aware service was slow but food is really good. Booked today for Mother’s Day set menu
4 out of 5 meals arrived, last one arrived and majority had finished , also finished main course before sides arrived. Ordered a pork and black pudding and had 1 tiny cube of black pudding (size of a polo mint) 😡
Over 30 minutes wait for dessert and again only 4/5 arrived, had to chase up 5th.
Don’t understand how kitchen backed up on a set menu and having to book.
Definitely won’t be going back again which is a shame 😔

Visited this place 2 years ago and I wasn’t impressed then and the only thing that as changed is the price it’s still the same old menu and the same rubbish service small servings £8.95 for sticky toffee pudding you are having a laugh that as got to be the most expensive in the Midlands. NEVER AGAIN WILL I AND MY FAMILY STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE .

Rang up asked how much Sunday Lunch was. £22 for a main and starters or dessert.Not too bad considering everything has gone up in price. Felt like the lamb, only to find there was an extra £5 supplement because it was Lamb ..what??? So i ordered the beef.The meal arrived not the hottest but with very small amounts of veg and not many roast potatoes either [it tasted nice]but for the price this was only half a roast dinner you had to pay extra to have other veg on your plate to make it a full meal.

Went to horbury. Service was shocking and slow, drinks took 20 minutes too arrive. Two dishes came overcooked and inedible and the other which was chicken came raw, resulting in my friend vomiting at the restaurant as she hadn’t noticed it was uncooked until she had eaten half due to it being burnt on the outside and put in a wrap. No apology from manager, the young gentleman who was the host was helpful and kind

Myself and my fiancee went to the Cannock Ego restaurant today for lunch.

We had the Monday offer menu. Fantastic value and the steaks were divine, cooked perfectly. One of the nicest steaks we've had. The mussles as starter were excellent, the sauce was amazing.

All the staff were excellent, relaxed atmosphere.

We went with my 92 year old mother and we took our 18 month old Maltipoo dog, Honey and sat in their dog friendly area.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. A massive shout out for our waitress Jodie. She was so lovely, friendly, efficient, polite and nothing was too much trouble for her. A credit to your company! Honey our dog has a new friend as she took a real shine to Jodie.

Thanks for making our lunch time treat so enjoyable and relaxing.

We visit Ego, Nuneaton most Fridays with friends and have always been happy with the cocktails however, on this occasion the pornstar martini was served with a 25ml shot of prosecco whereas in the past it has always been served with 50ml which is the correct measure. Ego is expensive for cocktails so they should at least be served correctly. Very
disappointed!

Over 5 mins before they came to check in desk.
Took to table, 20 mins before drinks and food order taken. 15/20 mins before drinks came.
Further 25 mins before main course came.
The food tasted good, 3 differant dishes cod, chicken and 2 lamb dishes. We left around 9.30pm.
That night both my wife and sister inlaw were ill, both had eaten the spiced lamb dish. No alcohol involved could only be that food eaten in that restaurant
Rang restaurant following late afternoon, initially got through asked if I could speak to the duty manager, certainly was the answer, 3 secs later we were cut off. Tried 6 more times, phone not picked up.
On Monday 5th I wrote to local Cannock restaurant and head office todate no reply back yet

Shrewsbury Ego. 3 course Sunday roast experience. Soggy vegetables, tough meat, pre- plated and all covered in unwanted gravy. Uncooked rhubarb in the crumble, ice cream was ok. When it came to pay (we were using a gift voucher for a 3 course meal for 2) they wanted an extra £4.50 as they said the price of the voucher did not cover the cost of the meals new price. I pointed out that the voucher was not price limited but for 2 people having a 3 course meal. I was clearly going to stand my ground and they did eventually agree. Like the meal, it leaves a bad taste.

Sheffield Ego - All great but husband's lemon dessert minuscule. In ladies toilet couldn't get loo paper out of dispenser and no paper towels to dry hands

Ashton-under-Lyne restaurant, lovely place but the biggest down fall is they let dogs in which I find terrible where they serve food. They have said on a reply to my review that dogs are only allowed in certain parts of the bar area untrue as we was in the place last week when dogs were in the restaurant part which has put me and other people off dining there.

We have just returned from Ego Ackworth where we have been previously on several occasions & enjoyed the meal but not the case this time

Despite being extremely quiet, it was over an hour before the food arrived.

My filet steak was very cold & the fries luke warm. The waitress took the steak away & returned a few minutes later with fresh hot fries but with the same piece of steak still only luke warm.

My wife’s fish looked like it had been cooked multiple times and the chips were not much better, overcooked & dry

Thankfully my son, whose birthday we were celebrating, enjoyed his meal.

Overall a very disappointing experience, it’s the first time I have returned home after a meal out to make myself something to eat.

Visited Ego at the punchbowl in sefton today. Celebrating my Mums birthday.
Service was amazing
Food was amazing
Cocktails also amazing.
Had a lovely afternoon.
