Elan Homes Avis 

After quite a stressful time for us, caused by delays on the part of Elan, we have now moved into our new home. However our faith in the company has been somewhat restored by the people on site. We have been grateful for the cheerful and very efficient help we have received from the sales executive, Tracy. She has dealt with all our queries quickly and with good humour. The site manager, Colin, has also impressed us. He has dealt with the few teething problems we have discovered quickly and with a smile. Thank you Tracy and Colin.

Bought a house with Elan went smooth. However getting the snagging done has been appalling. Sent two snags in at the start of May, one hasn't even been acknowledged yet even though I've chased on numerous occasions and the other snag was due to the wrong colour banister on the stairs case being put in and I have since been declined to be given the correct banister. I have a brand new house with an un-matching banister which they have refused to swap and have closed the case.

In general, we had a nice experience with Elan Homes. Everything was straightforward and smooth. We worked with Jonathan - a very honest and supportive man who consulted us throughout the journey. We used the Part Exchange scheme because it was quite difficult to sell the house ourselves nowadays due to the cost of living crisis. Elan Homes helped out here. The process took a bit longer than we expected. However, a normal chain process would have taken even longer. I think that those who have no chain or first-time buyers will have a smoother and more straightforward experience with Elan Homes.

I've noticed that some reviewers complain here about the quality of Elan Home's houses. We've been living here for a week, and I think it's fine. It's still a very new house, so you should expect the cracks to appear later. In general, it's still so much better than living in many very old rotten Victorian houses in England. Anyways, construction workers are still around, and they are eager to help if there's a problem.

Jonathan has been fantastic in every step of us moving into our first home. He took a lot of stress out of the process to make it easier for us. We are now moved in and couldn’t be happier with our home. Brilliant service from start to finish.

Shirley was very efficient. We turn up on spec and she accommodated a viewing on the property we liked.

Very disappointed - having failed to install the kerb in front of the drive correctly first time, two years later it was dug up and repaired to a poor standard and finish, across the front of the property, and no interest in doing a good job or consideration on the impact to the property. Having raised with Elan Homes they have responded that they are unwilling to look into this any further.

Jonathan has been extremely kind and considerate and full of care and guidance. Always checking in on us and giving advice on where to go next steps If we needed it.

Started well, they ask for reviews early because it only gets worse.

Really bad workmanship, the build quality is so poor its laugable. They have failed to install correct land drainage in the gardens so half of the street floods when it rains. Bodge jobs on doors and windows, all terrible fits, that get left 'snagged' with expanding foam all over the place. So many snags like others have said and the worst thing is they just make it worse trying to fix the issue. No common sense, sick of being blagged by site reps.

Save yourself the trouble and stay away from these bodgers.

Will at Whittingham fold was extremely helpful in showing us around the houses on view, and took the time to explain everything. Although we decided not to purchase due to not knowing the area well enough, the whole experience was made pleasurable by Will.

The worst decision of our lives was purchasing from Elan at Seven Acres Elford.
The build quality is the most shoddy workmanship I have ever experienced.
Inadequacies were picked up throughout the NHBC inspections, but Elan failed to take corrective actions, although they advised the NHBC they were cleared. I employed an independent surveyor who advised of these issues and the NHBC have sent me a copy of their report to confirm it.
I wouldn’t recommend Elan to my worst enemy. We haven’t moved in yet despite having the keys for 3 months, we have wasted 7 days waiting for tradesmen to turn up, only to be let down, the site manager not answering his phone, customer support not answering their phone, but get back to you within 10 days. We still have a massive snag list waiting to be sorted. The local MP is in contact with Elan.
We have been informed by Elan for weeks that their senior team are working on the snag list, but haven’t seen any progress.
It is now the 19th March, and still yet to receive a reply from Elan, even ignoring my solicitor.
26th March, still waiting for the snagging work schedule, we have another water leak and the heating is only partially working.
It is now 31st March, still waiting for the schedule of works for the snagging and been left for a week with only part of the heating working
Unbelievable this weekends failings, double glazed unit blown and garage side door leaking.
15th April another month has passed and still no update on the snagging work schedule with dates, even though my solicitor and Chris Pincher are involved.
It is now the 23rd April and still waiting for the schedule of work for snagging with dates, this is how committed Elan are when you have an issue - I wish they were as interested as their reply suggests
It is now the 4th May 2023 and still waiting for Elan to provide a snagging schedule, clearly shows their dedication and professionalism
19th May: still waiting for Elan to supply the scheduled work list. We’ve had scaffolding around our place for just over a month waiting for work to be done. They have replaced the fascia’s twice, but need replacing in areas again, as they have caused more damage. As you will see Elan have not updated their response below.

I have had a very good experience dealing with Johnathan in greenside view. He has really gone extra miles helping me from the begin I reserved the property to the point I am now ready to complete. Few issue with my sale and Jonathan was there to reassure me that my plot will be reserved for me until I get it sorted. He kept me updated with all progress. And I am grateful. I hope the after sale experience will be as good as this. I will be moving in my new home in few days. I am keeping 1 star to see how the experience is like once I move in. Thank you

Recently been to see Jonathan at Greenside View to pick the options for our new home. He made the afternoon really fun & enjoyable! We had a lovely time picking everything and can’t wait to see how they look together in our new home!

We looked at a property at Redwood Gardens. Although we did not proceed to a purchase the level of service we received for the sales executive named Shirley was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she answered every question from 4 members of the family and we ended up talking after the official close of business for the day.

If you are going to visit the development, make sure you ask to speak to Shirley - she is exceptional.

I had a very positive experience with my home purchase at the Greenside view development. Jonathan was always very helpful and despite multiple problems relating to mortgages, solicitors etc complicating the sale, he was always prepared to be as helpful as possible.
