Almost a scam if you read their contract.
My current gym will not let me cancel despite the aircon being broken for over 2 years, it's unusably hot inside.

They will remove any service (spa, air conditioning, equipment) and can charge you whatever they like?
Cost to cancel early for medical reasons? £10
Didn't give THREE MONTHS notice you wanted to cancel? we'll charge you another £35?
Want to freeze your contract? We'll charge you 2 months + £5.

Really poor and dismissive customer service.

It is a real shame, this place has great potential but it has been left to go to neglect, mainly because they think it will close in 2 years because of the science area coming to the Bee Hive, a short sighted view of what people need and want in Cambridge.
The changing rooms are so filthy, women's changing room has the ceiling falling through again, flies in the showers, black grime everywhere. If you don't wear flip-flops who knows what you would catch off the floor. It needs a jet wash and for cleaners to keep on top of it.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Side of pool is Grimes, windows not cleaned, pool area. Sauna room has been shut for several years now.

I recently returned after a long break and found that the equipment has not been updated since 2018 and is now worn out. The shower facilities are in extremely poor condition, with visible mould, which is unacceptable from a hygiene perspective.

I was paying £37 per month — a price that doesn’t match any of their current membership packages — and yet I wasn’t allowed to bring a friend. For the fee charged, the quality of the facilities and overall service simply do not justify the cost.

Would not recommend.

It was my first time going to this gym with my bf and I wore a flexible dress. After some time the person that let me in “Hannah” an older lady with red hair, told me that I can’t wear a dress and there’s a dress code that I need to put on sports wear and if I have nothing else we need to leave and after looking at my phone she mentions i can’t record. I would’ve left if my bf didn’t ask to see this in the terms and conditions, she said she’d go down and find it. After around 10 minutes one of her colleagues comes to us and asked us to not to record unless we ask permission. We said that we won’t and asked about the “dress code” and told us they didn’t have one. And we almost got kicked out because of her. P.s this was in Cambridge

Place has hit rock bottom. Recent manager was keeping the club afloat. Jo the current manager is awful! Hygiene issues, rude and has no idea. Spends most of their time at a computer and not looking after the club!

Very disappointed, I am a recent membership at Everlast Gym. Since joining, the swimming pool water has consistently been very cold and certainly not at the 28°C I was advised.
The swimming pool itself does not appear clean, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and maintenance.
The steam room has not been available at all since I joined.
On one occasion, female members, including myself, were directed to use the men’s changing room, which I found wholly unacceptable. I even felt compelled to take photographs as the conditions were unhygienic and inappropriate.
The marble flooring entrance and changing room were dirty and poorly maintained. The floor was so unclean that I had to keep my shoes on rather than walk barefoot.
The shower gel dispensers were empty.
It is also worth noting that when the site was previously DW, the standards were far higher. At that time, there was a jacuzzi, the steam room was always available, and while cleaning was not perfect, it was far more acceptable than the current situation.

I’ve been a member of the Cambridge gym for a few years now.
The manager Jo is great , very friendly and seems to know everything! A real asset to the company.
The facility itself is good , although it could do with an upgrade. Plenty of equipment in the gym area and the pool is nice too.

They clearly mentioned Jaccuzzi and everything but after joining never used it.
Had to move to India , so I mailed the manager that and they asked me to pay the rent for that month. I did and asked to cancel my membership as that is one month notice. They didn't!! After three months I get calls about debt from hidden numbers. And when mailed them they mail me that I have to submit proof. The manager is utterly arrogant to not mail that when I asked; There was no mention of proof or anything. Its is mentally excrutiating already that I with 5 years of experience and a Masters degree did not get any job. After constant rejections and a very bad experience from part time jobs dealing with racists, this is like pouring oil on fire. Just Do not Join . Join Gym group or Pure Gym

Had to cancel my membership after only 6 weeks as we tried several times to use the pool, but the boiler hadn't been on and it was below 26 degrees. After using it once with my son, who then was unwell due to how cold the pool and changing rooms were. We decided to cancel. Only to be told I still need to pay for the rest of this month and another month for something that is unusable. I would not recommend this place at all, staff at the desk are sympathetic, but not able to do anything to help resolve the situation.

10% of the gym users dominate the gym
We were going to this gym for a while and found that every time we went, we left the gym more stressed than when we arrived.
This is largely because the gym is being dominated by an "elite" group who will reserve machines for 30+ minutes so they can do 20 seconds on it every 10 minutes or so.
Most of the staff do not seem to care about this as staff members (off the clock) are also part of this group and seem to allow it for their friends.
We did give this feedback when asked, but nothing has changed.
My partner and I were unable to continue using this gym because we needed to be "on call" for family emergencies in the evenings. Everlast were very unhelpful with helping us cancel or defer our 12 month membership as our circumstance did not fit within their very rigid categories of "financial, medical or relocation". We received a very un personal and unfriendly "computer says no" response in regards to this.
I would recommend that you steer clear from establishments like this if you are looking for a gym to improve your mental health as well as your physical.

This is a gym that prioritizes profit over the well-being and satisfaction of its members.
Having relocated from the UK, I diligently informed the gym about my departure and attempted to cancel my membership. Shockingly, they continued deducting fees for 12 months, showing a blatant disregard for customer concerns. My numerous attempts to seek resolution from both staff and headquarters were met with silence. I share this on a public platform to raise awareness about unethical practices and lack of customer support.

would say 3 stars is adequate. staff are great and the equipment in the gym is top notch, loads of space etc. it's on a retail park which can be trickyy to get to for some, but for me on bike was perfect to access.Ssometimes steam room was dirty and the changing rooms could be looked after a bit better. Mainly disappointed with the membership that when signed up for 12 months membership you still need to login to cancel and stop it from recurring after that finishes. They have some weird rules for the dates so I've ended up paying 13 months in the end, has annoyed me

I have been a member of the Cambridge gym for many years and sad to say it has gone down hill. Not only have they stopped all the jacuzzi's. They seem short of staff and it was sad when the regular cleaner Frankie left because now the place is dirty. The sauna is filthy. I sat in there this week and looked at all the dirt dripping down the walls and seats. The floor tiles to the showers are dirty and there is often a black tide mark around the tiles in the pool and the floor is quite gritty. There is mould on the shower ceilings and a build up of scale down the shower pipes. They closed the pool for 2 days recently supposedly for decorating but nothing was noticeable when I returned.

I’ve been a member at the gym for close to 4 years and am disappointed with the way the gym is being run of late. The staff are always lovely, but the facilities are in disrepair with no sign of any improvement. The men’s shower ceiling is full of mould and has been that way for years. The A/C often drips, again this is a persistent problem and recently they’ve decided to not have the jacuzzis in due to the cost. It has a really tired feel to it and needs either modernisation or for the prices to be dropped as the facilities are worse than when I first joined

Cambridge gym is generally ok, but the gym is often very hot and humid. Its like working out in a tropical rain forest.
