A few weeks ago I left a negative…

A few weeks ago I left a negative review on here about my unacceptable experience at Formula one Astley. Within 24 hrs of my negative comments I was contacted by the area manager Daryl Burton , after a few correspondences via email and telephone conversations he explained that he had dealt with the situation and invited me back to get my car sorted which I gladly accepted. As many times previous my car was sorted and the staff couldn’t be more helpful . This just goes to show that it’s not all about the one bad experience I had with one member of staff but also how effectively it was dealt with by management in this case Daryl Burton , thankyou to you and your team for putting things right , it is much appreciated 👍🏻

Useless customer service

I have used Formula 1 many times in the past, normally to fit tyres bought through Asda Tyres or Black Circles, and though they never do the job at the time specified it does get done the same day (Why book a time slot if you aren’t going to keep to it?) This time I had ordered 2 tyres and had waited 4 days to have them fitted.
I arrived at my8.30 booked time and was pleasantly surprised tobetold that I could wait! That pleasant feeling was quickly destroyed when the fitter came in after 15 minutes and said “you need a lot more than a tyre mate” He then explained that my tyre pressure sensor was “jammed” and he could not fit one. “You’ll have to get one and programme it up and then I can fit it” I said that was ridiculous, here I was at a garage and they were telling me I had to repair my own car. They refused to order the part, said it wasn’t legal for them to do it!!!! Utter rubbish. Then I asked for them to put the tyres that I had paid for in the car and I would take them elsewhere to be fitted. The manager refused to do so!!!!! “Company policy mate” and then continued to tell me that I had a bad attitude!!
This business has lost my trade forever and I will always tell poeople about their atrocious customer service.
I took my car to Kwikfit and they did the job straight away, had the sensors in stock and programmed them up.
Formula 1 just lied, they simply don’t have the equipment to do the job, and I also wonder how many other jobs they can’t do properly (most I suspect)

Took my van in for an MOT and service…

Took my van in for an MOT and service as they have a larger ramp and roof for it, it failed its MOT after needing new ball joints, told the staff I was a bit paranoid because I feel like I’ve been shafted by other garages in the past. He was very understanding and even brought out the parts they took off to let me have a look at. One was definitely worse than the other but I agree they should both be done if one is broken. He showed me the parts and put my mind at ease, later on they did a wheel realignment, something that needs to be done when changing the ball joints apparently. So they did. After I drove out the yard it wasn’t right and the steering was very off. I took it straight back, they got it in and sorted the problem and I haven’t had any issues since. Decent guys, decent garage not sure why they get so many bad reviews as my experience wasn’t that bad really and I stayed there all day and paid an additional £500 on top on the MOT and service. I think some people just like a winge. Nice one lads.

They don’t even look at your car

I brought my car in on Sunday and I phoned the centre in Astley on Wednesday after no one had got back to me . I was told they were busy and hadn’t even looked at the car .
By Thursday afternoon I got a call telling me they can’t repair it at this garage so come and collect it

Poor Service from Astley F1 autocentre

Poor Service from Astley F1 autocentre. They failed to contact me on two occasions to let me know of MoT cancellation. Instead I had to drive to their workshop only to be told that they could not undertake my pre-booked and paid for MoT. Customer service is rubbish and would not recommend using them

Repaired without quote and approval! Avoid!!

I went for an MOT on Friday. It failed due to an “electronic stability control warning lamp indicating a fault” and a few bulbs that needed replacing. They didn’t know what the fault was so we agreed I would bring the car back Monday morning to have it diagnosed and then make a decision before repair and retest. I left the car and I specifically said to the person at reception to please call me before any work is done so I can approve the quote. No quote was given, no phone call received. Went later on in the afternoon to collect a car that had been repaired without my approval. No consent was made from my end and I hadn’t been informed of how much I needed to pay. So all of a sudden I was left with an invoice of over £100 to pay for something that I was never told what it was. I obviously complained about it and the branch manager said that the only thing they could do was to offer me a 10% refund and the difference of a cheaper quote from my usual garage.
When I checked with my usual garage the price quoted was fair so my biggest complain here is how this was handled and the fact that they proceeded to repair my car without providing me with a quote. They never called me to let me know how much I was going to have to pay and on top of that during the argument they were trying to gaslight me saying that in fact they had told me what the fault was when they told me the car had failed the MOT, which is false, hence the reason of booking again to find out what the issue was, and then telling me that they had sent me the quote, which again it was another lie. They also told me to go to my usual garage if I already had someone else who usually services my car. They were extremely rude and very unprofessional. It wasn’t the first time my husband or I had our cars MOT’d here but after this terrible experience we will never go back again.

F1 BOLTON/ASTLEY.

I have been using F1 (Bolton and Astley) for over 6 years now and have never let anyone touch my vehicle. Being a customer for so many year I have met some good friends. Great bunch of lads. Thank you 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👌🏾

Disappointed …

Very disappointed as I’ve used Formula 1 a few times but never again. I’ve spent a lot of money with them in the past but after being fobbed off and told to take my car to an engine specialists as I’d probably need a new engine. The pipe from the radiator to the engine had simply snapped off and they wouldn’t repair it. I took it to another garage for a second opinion and they replaced the pipe for just over £100 and my car is running great now.
They also looked at my husbands car recently and fobbed him off too and said he’d need to take it to a landrover specialist. Why are they turning work away? Very strange. We won’t go again and have found a fabulous garage elsewhere.

F1 Astley is my usual place to go for…

F1 Astley is my usual place to go for new tyres. Unfortunately my most recent visit was a disaster!
I booked in last Monday for four brand new Continental premium tyres which should of been fitted this Saturday as i have a MOT and service the following Thursday, as i could tell my car would probably fail on tyres. I turned up Saturday to my booked appointment to find out by the reception that the tyres i agreed had not been ordered or not in stock. He stated my booking was basically "Big White Mec SUV" like come on what on earth is this after discussing tyre size, tyre make, price, my name, address and booking date for the reception to turn around to say no we havent got your tyres in but i can see your booked in under big white SUV, then asked are you providing your own tyres. How unprofessional ! i am now on the hunt for four new tyre replacements prior to this Thursdays MOT and Service !
Receptionist didn't seem to arsed to assist me either. To add the cheery on the cake i actually had changed four new tyres on my wife's Mercedes 4x4 SUV the week before. I was going to also bring my Ducatti here for two new tyres which i guess not ! I will not be attending F1 Astley again what a massive disappointment.

Never agan will we use this company

Took my sons car to this garage today for a new clutch told me it would be £823.19, unlucky for me I gave them the go ahead before checking other garages locally. I have been able to get the job done for £385 but Formula 1 have charged me £314 for labour costs for 4 hours. Even with this cost it’s still saving me money on what Formula 1 quoted by taking it away. On my receipt they checked tyre tread depth which isn’t what it was even in for. We will never use this company again, said the won’t be beaten on price online, well that’s a lie. Every garage I spoke with today locally could do the clutch a lot cheaper with every garage at least half the price. Our custom will now go elsewhere, where we’ll be treated better and charged less. 1 star is to high for this company, wish it could be 0.

Don’t MOT here

Recently bought a car, went for its MOT here, failed the MOT and tried charging 400£ for all repairs and magically they had everything they needed and could fix it then n there same day. Went to the person I bought it off they recommended me a guy for it. Took it there passed the MOT no repairs needed at all. Scammers mate all about the money. Was a well run buisness till the manager left now there just scamming people for cash blatantly get it shut down

When a Full service is not a full service

Paid for Full service- but it wasn’t a Full service, they didn’t reset some of the service lights & said to do that I would have to get some of their recommendations done at extra cost!

Not happy with job done ordered two new frint tyres with tracking expected two tyres to be the same brand and tread pattern ended up with two tyres the right size but different brands.

Outstanding, the team went above and beyond to help when my fob battery needed replacing. This isn’t a service they provide but they took the time to try and help and resolved the issue. Made up!

Professional courteous and thorough

Phoned up on a Sunday morning for an on spec puncture repair, very accommodating and I was booked in for that afternoon. My tyre was repaired in a very thorough,timely manner. With no pushing for a new product(it was explained there was plenty of tread left,All tyres were checked). I went home and booked another car in for a new tyre online, which was so simple as every thing I needed to know about tyre costs,specs were all available. Instant email confirmation of appointment sent, I also received a reminder during the week. On arrival for my appointment and checking in everything was ready to go. A great professional, courteous, knowledgeable team who displayed great customer service. I would not hesitate to recommend this centre to anyone
