Formula One Autocentres - Mansfield Avis 

Phoned Formula 1 just 5 minutes ago and asked for quote to replace a clutch master cylinder on my VW Caddy 1.6tdi and was told that this was not a thing they do but their webb site says they do clutches.

Had aircon regas and clean and it and it was totally not working after a couple of days. After contacting the Mansfield garage and arranging for them to check it, the problem was sorted and I was really impressed with the way it was resolved. Thank you!

I had a blowout today near home on Chesterfield Road and managed to hobble my van to Formula One Auto Centre. When I went to the desk, the man there flat-out refused to help, saying they were too busy. I was blocking their car park and was clearly worried about how I was going to get home without damaging my wheel. His advice was to put my hazards on and drive towards Mansfield town centre because there are “at least two tyre garages on the way”.
It was icy and slippery, and this was absolutely not a safe option.
I ended up having to call a friend to come and help me change to my spare wheel in Formula One’s car park. While we were doing this, two members of staff stood nearby watching us while vaping. When we were almost finished, one member of staff finally offered to get a socket — by that point it was completely pointless.
As soon as I was roadworthy, I drove straight to Glenn’s Low Cost Tyres. The difference was night and day. A member of staff came straight out to my van, took the wheel, and said he would fit a tyre immediately. I explained I needed a Michelin to match the others, so he ordered one in and will call me on Monday when it’s fitted so he can swap the wheels back for me. He even torqued the wheel up for me to make sure I was safe, despite the fact they hadn’t fitted it.

Bravo, Glenn’s Low Cost Tyres Ltd — outstanding service and genuine care for customer safety. Regardless that this was 5 mins to closing time.

I have never used Formula One and will not ask for their help again. A terrible experience made even more disappointing given how hazardous the road conditions were today.

I recently took my car to Formula One Autocentres - Mansfield for a simple job: replacing spark plugs and ignition leads. I booked the garage for what I expected to be a quick and straightforward task, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.

I picked up my car the following day, and immediately noticed the engine was misfiring. The next day, I decided to take a closer look at my mate garage and found a significant issue—one of the spark plugs was sticking out much higher than the others. Upon further inspection, I realized that the spark plug was only threaded into the head by about four threads, and was cross-threaded. It was even moving back and forth.

To fix this, I had to go through the trouble of removing the inlet manifold and other components just to reach and properly re-install the spark plug.
This was a frustrating experience, as I expected a basic job to be completed properly. Instead, I ended up having to spend extra time and effort to correct their mistake.

Spoke to the guy who worked on my car, showed him pictures and video of the problem, and yet he still denied doing the work incorrectly, saying he didn’t cause that issue

I wouldn’t recommend this garage for anyone needing work on their car unless you’re prepared for the possibility of poor craftsmanship and zero accountability.

Booked my car in for and air con clean and re gas brake fluid change and anti freeze change paid the money in full took the car in at 9am got back at 11-30 they hadn't even made a start on it claiming there were no ramps available even though the bloke told me it would be 2 to 3 hours not very happy at all

Went for 4 new tyres, wheel balancing and an alignment. One tyre was installed on the spare wheel so ended up having to wait an aditional 30 minutes. After getting home, i cleaned up my freshly refurbished rims to find out they had been scratched to hell by whoever put the new tyres on. in addition to this i driving later on on the motor way my car was vibrating very heavily so i pulled over to check the tyre pressure and they had all been pumped dangerously high to 45 psi. All in all, it was a terrible experience, and if you care about your car, never let this company near it!

I always go to the Mansfield branch on Chesterfield Road and always get deal with pleasantly and efficiently and have recommended them to friends and neighbours. Very happy with their service.

Moved to Mansfield not far from F1 recently.
My car was in need of brake fluid replacement so after a bit of googling found F1 to be the cheapest by far.
A little sceptical due to the price but need not have been.
Friendly reliable and efficient service and job completed for the quoted price
Since then my wife had a problem with a leaky tyre valve and I had a headlamp blow.
Both jobs were does free of charge!!
Won't go anywhere else in future.

Wheel came off the car causing serious damage and almost causing a crash. Refuse to accept responsibility or a refund. If you value your car and health this place is not for you..

Already called and recorded the phone call from the manager. There's a video going out and one on Tiktok with the damage that's doing very well views wise. Much prefer to stain the garages reputation, which is there fault... Had a chance to rectify..

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire branch - courteous and very helpful. Would recommend.

I brought a car down in April 2023 for a coil pack and spark plugs. Which was £261.62 including labour, they done diagnostic tests on it and it came back has cylinder 2 and 3 misfire and they fixed it. Anyway went down at the end of February 2024, start of march 2024 and it was having the same issue and they had a look and said it wasn’t the same Issue and wouldn’t do it under warranty which was a year. Please people don’t take any of your motors there or any centre. They want quick jobs, and don’t honour the warranty.

I beg people to go anywhere else. Don’t waste your hard earned money and loved cars on these time waster, money grabbing rip off merchants.
