We chose Impact as we know and trust their surveyor, who recommended a ASHP and roof-mounted PV array to heat our 4 bedroom Victorian farmhouse.
We requested a copy of the survey and ASHP spec so we knew what to expect. In hindsight we should have discussed the installation more thoroughly with the surveyor, particularly about locating the ASHP and internal tanks, and exactly what ancillary works were involved. This would have avoided rushing these decisions, particularly as Impact do not do much hand-holding during the installation. The tradesmen were cheerful and thorough, achieving a very high standard of work. If we were doing it again we would obtain the foreman's mobile number as point-man, because Impact don't have a customer liason staffer.
We had a few minor gripes ( a slipped roof slate and little idea how to use Google Nest) and when I contacted Mr David Hurst (Sales) he promptly put me in touch wth Mr Anthony Hurley (Manager) and the speed with which my gripes were remedied was very impressive: the slipped slate was replaced whilst the scaffolding was still up, and an electrician and the supervisor came to see us to help us understand operation of the system. That's customer service we rarely see nowadays.
We have experimented with settings and from being a bit sceptical I am a keen fan, considering installing additional PV panels and a battery kit, now that I can see the benefits for myself.

Would be zero stars if I could! Spam calling and texting for a grant I already have

I'm starting to think that Impact Energy is really just a bunch of people running a website out of their garage while looking for a day job. Unprofessional doesn't admit their mistake - they blamed me on the phone for wasting their time even though it was them who promised to call me within 24 hours, but never did!

The company suggested to apply for a free boiler, and then informed us that free boilers are impossible for our income but they can install a boiler for money. We paid them a lot for installation in May, and then, after just a few weeks, we were informed that free boilers are available in our area. So, we had a new boiler installed (for money!) in May and it is already leaking in June. As a result of leaking it is not working, and we do not have hot water. Even worse, the floor is wet. The boiler in on the second floor and it may impact the ceiling on the first floor. Bad job during the installation!

It wont say this on their website (I've checked) but you only qualify for the free boiler if you get insulated flooring from them as well. If you currently have concrete flooring - then you dont qualify at all. Terms on their website should be clearer and stop wasting people time.

Impact Energy are a disgrace. Waited 4 months for a boiler now. They have no idea. I am complaining to every authority I can find, and TV consumer programmes. I have a list of 25 complaints now, from staff swearing loudly outside my house when my son was at home, to putting in airbricks which keep falling out, to failing to contact me at every point, to installers arriving and finding feeble excuses to go away again and more and more. Don't touch them. A rip-off and a scam.

Disgusting company! Done nothing but mess up from start to finish! Don't bother answering emails and continuously bothered my elderly grandmother! Joke of a company!

If you want to keep your sanity avoid this company like the plague. They are cowboys.

This should be a zero, these companies are ripping people off. Had a few surveyors round from different companies and they are only interested I how much money they can get out of you, I've had quotes from £1100-£1750 . 1 guy said when he turned up that we can't have it done as you've had cavity insulation. The last 1 said the survey would take upto 4 hrs and the quote of £1500 was just a starting price.

had a serveyer out today from impact energy limited bootle liverpool couldnt put my finger on itat the time things did not seem quiet when he came and before he even looked at anything said if we dont have under floor heating the price would be £1,240 but we was told on phone that it would be a free boiler grant as we are on benefits then he took photos of our benefit papers to prove we get benefits then took photos of light bulbs radiators walls even checked gap between door and floor? in every room didnt seem to interested in boiler just took a couple of pics never checked it we signed form silly us did not read through properly till he went on letter it states that we have to pay amount we was quoted in full to engineer when he arrives before work commences which is a no no also there is a start date which he did not mention was told they would be in touch yes should have looked at reviews first normaly do in this case did not BIG MISTAKE canceling tomz getting in touch with police about photos of paper work and trading standards as i think this scam rogue traders need putting out of action

Pitty there isn’t a zero left us with a massive gas leak had to pay for my own gas engineer to come out because they wouldn’t
Basically it didn’t end there , to cut a long story very short if you value your life and the lives of your family please avoid this company

AVOID This company at all all costs - Be warned they are trading under Impact Energy Limited. I had to contact Cadent (who deal with countrywide gas leaks) for them to tell us we have a GAS LEAK after fitting boiler, hot water flushing in toilet. Cadent were amazing and even spoke to Impact Energy who are the same company as this on the review, that this gas leak was their problem. Two attempt to sort new boiler, one mistake is OK but gas leak is unforgivable. We were left without heating and hot water for 4 days after their first mistas. Gas SAFETY register who deal with installations that are not upto standards have come out and they ignored their recommendations as it has not been installed to manufacturer requirement they also didn't register it. They think they are above the law. CADENT told me to report them to Gas Safety Register because how serious it was, they said it was only a matter of time before their would have been a gas explosion which in their words very serious to us and neighbours. Gas leaking for at leaking 2-3weeks in our home. Impact ENERGY/FREE BOILER Grant SCHEME are good at ignoring you when there are issues. Very unprofessional to blame us for the issues when Cadent Gas told them they were at fault for the gas leak. Their other trading name is Impact Energy Limited in Merseyside/Liverpool. They didn't even fix. press units back and now our kitchen looks even ugly. Rubbish dumped in side entrance silicone, bits of bricks where hole drilled just left there.
It's very disheartening, their Google reviews are very poor on Impact Energy (they are same company) and they then claim to people they got wrong company it wasn't them the fitted the boiler. STAY AWAY they get generously paid to to do this ECO3 scheme. Use bigger Utility companies who run this scheme and you will have more of a guarantee. This company is cowboys even their Facebook page has bad complaints. It doesn't take long to find out they can't be trusted. I only wish we did more research but they don't make themselves transparent. To top it off we have 2 young children and a husband shielding. They are quick to post their 4.8 out of 5 trust pilow review but not their very poor Google Reviews from Impact Energy Limited they are the same company. I'm not just a disgruntled customer but no deserves this incompetency and being undermined and ignored.
