Foil Avis 50

Absolutely love the foil board. Easy to set up and everything works well and is very easy to use. Like any foil, it takes some getting used to for folks to learn to ride. The extended battery lasts crazy long which is wonderful. Everything put together is of course heavy, but that's just how efoils are. I've ridden another big company's board as well, and this one is just as good.

A few things to note though:

Their information/manuals and videos online are good, but they lack some information like how to turn off the remote by holding the main button for 15 seconds, how change the speed setting by single tap for up and double tap for down, what you should see on the charger screen, etc.

The board paint/gel coat seem to chip easily. After my first session of just being in the middle of the lake, there were a few white spots where the paint had chipped off on the sides even though it hadn't come into contact with anything.

My final note is on expectations with delivery timing. The website noted 1 week to ship when I ordered but it took 6. So be prepared to wait a while.

Took longer to deliver than was promised. Board works perfectly. Paint chips very easily on black carbon board. Will need to pick up some touch up paint. Adding some handles to the board would make it a lot easier to lift and get out of the water on a dock or ski boat. Maybe they will come up with a retro fit modification for that. All in all seems like a very solid product.

I recommend NOT buying a board from GetFoil!

My board arrived damaged. They offered to replace the board part and not the foil part.

After attempting to use the board the first few times, it didn't work more than half the time I tried to use it.

I contacted customer service and dealt with Kyle, the "CEO and customer service agent"... Like other reviewers here, I had a bad experience dealing with him.

I needed to credit card dispute the purchase since Foil left me with a malfunctioning board. I offered:
1 - They could send parts as they thought the issue was a simple fix and talk me through repairing it.
2 - I would mail the board back (on my dime) to have them fix the issue.
3 - I would mail the board back (on my dime) and they would simply refund me. I think the board doesn't work and they think it is great. Why not accept a return then?

They continued to sell "discontinued" propeller guards.

One other thing I noticed... If you look at most of the 5 star reviews, they all seem to only have 1 review. That seems odd... Why would that be?

Had some minor customer service challenges. All was eventually resolved.

Very good quality. Deliriously happy with the board. Very attentive support. Board propelled my 230 pound fat butt for hours on one charge. Amazing ride. You’ll have fun every step of the way.

The foil board I purchased was used a total of 8 times. On the last ride, the carbon fiber foil fin sheared off. Nothing was hit in the water and the board was not dropped. After falling the fin completely came off. When looking at the fin you can clearly see a bubble in the carbon fiber due to manufacturing defect. After this happened I emailed the support team with photos and the support manager (Kyle Roarke) accused me of falling incorrectly and would not replace the carbon fiber foil fin under warranty. He accused me of lying and wrote me a clear email that he will not be replacing the fin but I can purchase one at a reduced cost. Obviously, this was not acceptable for a $9k board with upgrades.

Get Foil, I purchased your board because you are USA made, designed and assembled. Your sales team was clear your team would honor any issues which may come up in the first year. Clearly you are misrepresenting your products and do not stand behind them. I will NOT be purchasing another board or recommending this product to friends and other boats in my community.

Love this foil. Still a little cold in New England but myself and my boys are still using it. Staff is great and get back very quickly to answer questions.. well worth the money. I have recommended it to my friend who just ordered one. No regrets purchasing this.

I recieved my foil on Friday, was concerned about taking the prop and end cap off to install the prop guard. I called and you were closed until Monday. I emailed support and did not receive a response until Monday. I looked through the manual, the quick start guide and online as well as your site and could not find information on installing the prop guard. I went ahead and took it apart and installed the prop guard but would have liked to have instructions to make sure nothing was going to fall out when I removed the end cap and how many foot lbs to set the nut too on the prop when I put everything back together. Your support reach out to me on Monday and verified I installed it correctly. Once support reached out, he was very responsive.

We are impressed with the performance and value of our new FOILS! The setup is simple and quick. We've have tried many others over the years and love how easy these were to get and the water and go. The battery life is by far the longest we've ever experienced.

Super high quality product with great customer service. They followed up very quickly and made everything very easy!

This is my first e-foil, so I cannot compare to other brands but overall it is a good product for half the price. Delivery was delayed (but everyone had a hard time getting electronic chips that year) and the battery/remote had issues on my first try so I had to ship it back and it got fixed. Customer service was good and made it very easy. To be honest I was expecting to have a few issues ...given the product is new and the price very attractive, so overall I'm super happy. The board design looks good, I would not say foiling is easy at first and I don't think this board is made for beginners but I was able to foil a dozen of times before it got too cold and I'm now totally hooked. Looks like updates and upgrades are coming up this year so this is super exciting.

Bought the board. Had multiple issues with board and battery and company wouldn’t give me a refund and has made everything extremely difficult. It worked ok for awhile, but then just too many problems

(ps: yes it’s true… motor pitch tune would be great /slightly smaller board would be great/ some nicely integrated handle to carry and to get back on in the water would be great ;)

Only got a couple of tries in before the end of last summer. In general I like the board but would love to see handles on the side of the board to pull myself up onto a knee position (see this on many other more expensive boards). Also a hold speed and programmable exponential speed curve feature on the speed control would be nice. You have to be pretty experienced to hold the speed at a constant level while pulling yourself up on a slippery board without any handles. But then again, I was and still am a complete beginner.

My entire experience with purchasing my first board & any questions I had went so well I have already ordered a second board. I feel like first Gen boards & releases may have had a few hiccups, but to be entirely honest I have NEVER had a company address issues SOOOO fast. The board is GREAT & Kyle (The CEO has been improving everything daily as well as his team). On top of that everything has been improving in regards to updates/APP/shipping. It is amazing how quickly Foil has responded & addressed feedback. I wouldn't buy any other board as a result & highly recommend to my friends & family. FOIL is the best & US company!!

I can’t believe there is only a single trigger to control speed. I have used flite and lift brand. They offer 20 speeds via plus and minus buttons on the remote.

I ordered my Foil either late 2020 or early 2021. It took forever to get confirmation that mine was coming. It took so long that I went out and bought a Flite Board. I absolutely love the Flite. When I got my Foil it did not compare to the Flite. It is very slippery, harder to Foil and way heavy. I understand there was a difference in price point, it is worth spending the extra money. At this point I will own the Foil and doubt any one will use it.

Tested out the Foil for the first time last month. It was a blast! It's a lot of fun and makes for a great time. It's also a serious challenge. Not as easy as I thought it would be. But starts to get easier after a few tries. Get out and try one soon!

The Foil delivery was delayed over 2 months from July to OCT and thus we missed the summer. I love the product, but the delay was not great. That being said, I did get a board upgrade which was cool. I am still awaiting the carry bags?
