DO NOT sign up to these people ! Whatever u do don’t sign! They are the biggest scammers going! They will delete your emails between the 2 of you. They will use different account to take money from you. Even if you’ve sent them medical evidence to show you can use the gym they will still scam you

Great gym with awful front desk people
Great gym with awful reception and customer service staff.
Tried to resolve the issues i had but my emails are just being ignored. Bradley who was in touch with me re the membership before i joined and insisted to book via the link he sent and not on the website as I was going to even found time to call, but as soon as I joined just keeps ignoring my issues, as well as other ealing emails. Decided to call the gym but the receptionist just said she has no time to talk and started shouting and interrupting me when i was trying to resolve the issue and explain the situation. When i asked for her name she said she already introduced herself when she picked up and refused the repeat her name despite my several requests to repeat her name.
Nonsense, have not experienced such an attitude for a long time now. The front desk staff really needs proper training
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. Confusing communication with cancellations - they confirmed they cancelled my subscription but then took payment for another month. I appreciate that there may have been confusion the dates for cancellation but why send confirmation for cancellation in the first place? When I brought this up to their manager, they basically told me that they agree the communication was confusing but it’s not their problem.
GYMBOX Old Street is the worst gym I’ve…
GYMBOX Old Street is the worst gym I’ve ever paid for. £92 for a month for one branch and the standards are appalling.
• Plates left out from the day before with no staff accountability.
• Doors not opened on time. This year alone my fiancé and I have been turned away four times because staff showed up late.
• Disgusting maintenance. I found a mushroom growing in the changing rooms.
• Yesterday I overheard a receptionist tell a member his email hadn’t been answered in 5 days because they receive “over 3,000 complaint tickets.” Absolutely disgraceful.
There is no professionalism, no care for customers, and no consistency. Pure Gym offers a better experience for a fraction of the price, because at least you can rely on it opening and being usable.
I’ve raised multiple complaints, nothing has changed. Avoid this branch at all costs.

Overall, I like gymbox E&C. The classes instructors are great - especially the calisthenics ones. Music is too loud, though, very often. This could be improved. I want to be able to hear my own stuff on my device

People come to the gym so they can train without the gym experience feeling intrusive - you have got it wrong here - hence all of the bad reviews on Google for finsbury averaging at 2.4 stars
Very difficult to get on a class - they also sell them externally which makes it more difficult.
It’s not difficult to fix this experience - turn the music down by 30% and stop selling the classes externally - then you would get 4.5 stars.
Also if your staff member wasn’t rude - this review would not have been written.

When do you fix ice bath in Finsbury park gym? Signed up with the gym a month ago, been there several times but never seen it working. I hear lots of facilities are not working in other Gymbox across London, so now I know what I've singed up for, and probably the ones who see this review.

Refusal to Cancel on Medical Grounds (Bank branch)
⚠️ Be warned: if you get injured, Gymbox may trap you in their contract unless you fight or escalate legally.
Situation: I suffered multiple fractures and provided medical documentation showing I’m unable to use the gym. Gymbox refused to cancel my contract unless I could prove my injury was permanent — an impossible standard no doctor would ever write.
This is an unfair contract term under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and has already been challenged by the CMA in similar cases. Instead of supporting an injured member, their system is designed to stonewall and pressure you into paying, even when you’re vulnerable.
Customer service was dismissive and toxic, quoting “policy” instead of showing any duty of care. The result: immense stress on top of injury.
I have now reported this contract policy to the Competition & Markets Authority (submission ref: CMAE2501293).
If you’ve experienced similar predatory practices, I encourage you to do the same. The CMA has already investigated gyms for unfair cancellation terms — the more evidence they see, the faster change happens.
BIG SCAM!!!
BIG SCAM!!!! Josh @ Gym Box gave me a free trial and told me that I could cancel within 2 weeks for absolute NO charge.
However, they continue to STEAL £89 from my account EVERY MONTH.
I have begged their staff to help me but they seem quite immature and inept.
I gave written to them but no one has got back to me. I am a working Mum and that is HUGE amount of money for me.
I honestly don't know what do about it, I'm very distressed. I have contacted my Monzo and put in a fraud claim.
The company is HORRIBLE. Stay away from them.
Absolute scam artists
When they sign you up to their '2-months free deal', they'll trick you into signing T&Cs online that allows them to collect the money on the back end, noy just seeing out the month you cancel your rolling contract, but paying abother month after that because you have to give a full calendar month's notice. Absolute scam artists, and their gyms aren't even that special.
Overpriced, Overcrowded, and Utterly Useless – Stay Away!
Avoid this place at all costs! I signed up for Gymbox Finsbury Park, paying a ridiculous £86 a month, and I’ve only managed to go twice because it’s unbearably overcrowded. The gym is a chaotic mess — machines packed on top of each other, endless queues for everything, and zero sense of organisation. It’s impossible to actually get a proper workout.
When I decided to cancel, they promised to get back to me within 5 days… but guess what? Silence. No calls, no emails, nothing. Their customer service is as bad as their gym management — completely unprofessional and careless.
If you value your money, your time, and your sanity, do yourself a favour and stay far, far away from this place. One of the worst gym experiences I’ve ever had!

Signed up to Gymbox Farringdon as I was told they would be getting reformer Pilates soon and the prices would soon go up. It’s been four months and no news of this. I’ve tried contacting customer services to cancel and they haven’t replied despite chasing for over a week. Customer service is awful - just want your money and the value for money isn’t even good. Would be better off going to PureGym

The gym is good, equipment not bad although very disappointing and stenching when is come to the relationship between members and customers service and staff unknowledgeable also gymbox policy.
The bottom line is paid six months membership i asked a staff member whether it will stop taking money from my account once membership end and confirmed to me that's correct and I don't have to do nothing about it.
The reality is the money been taken from my account for 3 months without me using the gym.
when i went to rise the issue there was a new manager just started working although I haven't heard from her and I i contacted customers service they said we inform the all members that the money keep rolling even if the contract is ended.
I don't blame the staff member if the gymbox didn't put an affort to train the staff properly and provide them with the necessary information.
Shame they like taking easy money without dropping a sweat.
Well done gymbox 👏 hopefully those 3 months you take would make you billionaires.

All they want is your money
Upon attempting to cancel my membership due to moving out of London not only did they not get back to me for a week the only option was to cancel two months after making the initial request. Meaning that they took. Two extra charges off of me even though I'm not in London and I'm not using it both of my charges were £98 if we do some calculations, that is £196 compared to Puregym sure it doesn't have as many fancy equipment but at least you can cancel and restart your membership whenever and it's not such a ungodly price very disappointed..

Update** I was removed from the class today due to the instructor being unfamiliar with the current policy. Unfortunately, the gym has offered no reimbursement or resolution regarding this issue. Given the lack of accountability and professionalism, I would strongly recommend avoid.
Unfortunately it feels like a scam because the facilities promoted does not work. It has decent gym facilities but the selling point are the classes which is impossible to get in. Besides the classes, it really is not far off from your ordinary gym which is 25% of the price. Wish there was more honesty in terms of what to expect and especially surrounding the cancellation process. There is a two weekly cooling period but there will be no refund and you will be charge £20 for every day you went to the gym within that cooling period which doesn’t make sense. I called up and this wasn’t explained before hand when I expressed my concerns of not being able to get into classes. Overall, I felt this experience was more disappointing than my ex
