I bought the 'world's best nose trimmer' from Hammacher Schlemmer, along with many other items, but will not be trusting them anymore. Apparently, since the company was purchased their 'Lifetime Guarantee' is not real. They changed their policy to only a year and you have to pay return shipping. What a stroke of bad luck or I should say, bad business. Two thumbs down for Hammacher Schlemmer... don't trust them with your money.

I had tried for months, beginning in May2025 for Hammacher Schlemmer to honor the warranty for a bird feeder I had purchased on line directly from Hammacher Schlemmer. I waited on hold for hours with Customer Service; I was told that I could return the bird feeder for credit and emailed me the return directions to their Returns Center in Fairfield, Ohio. This required considerable effort and expense. I never heard back from Customer Service despite multiple emails and telephone calls to request a status update on the product. Now I see the company is out of business, and given such miserable customer service, I can understand why they might have had to declare bankruptcy. If they were still in business, I would never purchase anything from them again.

I spent $143.58 and they only shipped a $12.48 stuffed dinosaur. They refused to provide any information about the balance of the order stating the company had changed ownership.my family has been customers since 1980. Oh well!

Bought a tree nine months before they changed ownership and the second Christmas it is not working. Called this company, they tell you they do not have any records will not honor any warranties and you’re basically out of luck. Do not buy anything from this company.

As many others, I am a victim of their fraudulent liquidation sales, some of the items I ordered and paid for have never been sent to me but they have kept my money and the new company now says that they have no data about previous orders and can't refund anything. We should start a Class Action against such practices, the money is somewhere....

I placed SEVERAL orders from Hammacher with their going out of business sale starting in October. It took months to receive some of the items and have not received many other items as of yet. Although they have had no problem keeping the money and which they should be issuing refunds for items that they do not have. I would suggest NOT ordering from this company. They stole countless amounts of money from lots of people that ordered from them as well. This is a DISGRACE! Hammacher was always such a great company to order from. It’s sad they would steal from their LOYAL customers this way!! SHAME ON YOU!!

THIEVES! I ordered merchandise in mid-November 2025. In late November, I received an email from Hammacher Schlemmer saying that two of the items that I had ordered and paid for were cancelled. When I replied to the message about a refund, I was told that I was not getting my (roughly) $150 refunded because a new company acquired Hammacher Schlemmer.

They gave me a cheque refund to my old address in July 2025. Followed up in September and they said they have mailed it again. Followed up in November no reply. By December they tell me new owner bought brand and not operations so they can’t help me. I wouldn’t trust their lifetime warranty.

Wow, I sure wish I’d checked here before ordering over $150 in Christmas gifts. Growing up, my dad loved HS because of their quick shipping, easy returns and exchanges, and great quality products made in the US. This is no longer the same company and whoever owns them now is destroying their name and legacy. I ordered 7 items on 11/24. It’s been 2.5 weeks (now past the delivery estimate) and I’ve received 2 of my ordered items. Both items show “made in china” and are not the quality I’d have expected from a company in business since the 1800s. Another item showed delivered but never showed up. I contacted customer service and they have been entirely unhelpful. Because they ship their trash from all over, they apparently have no way to determine based on tracking number which item I’m missing. I’ve exchanged something like 12 messages with customer service, who just ends up telling me my item was delivered. It was delivered what would I even be messaging about?! Lesson learned and I’m canceling the BS membership they make you pay for and never ordering from them again, and certainly telling my family who have been loyal customers for decades to spend their money elsewhere. Really screwed me over on Christmas presents this year. Should have just let them close with an intact legacy instead of trying to reboot with garbage Chinese products and customer support overseas.

I deposited a refund check from Hammacher and Schlemmer on Monday for $20.17. Today my bank notified me that the check bounced AND that my bank was charging me $16.00 for the bounced check. Classy business not honoring their refund check and causing me to be penalized by my bank. Never bounced a check in my life, but got punished for their check bouncing. Called the phone number for customer service and heard they were no longer taking phone calls. I did email customer service, but hold little hope I'll get reimbursed for the penalty they caused me to pay because they cheated me out of my refund. Shame on you, H and S.

Be cautious when ordering from this company at this time. They will not honor returns or exchanges due to faulty products. You can't actually talk to anybody. Just an email available that might never be answered. I bought a 7-foot lamppost for Christmas decor. The garland connectors are faulty, and I am still awaiting a response from them, as the item remains available. The rain chains I ordered are also of poor quality, as the hook came loose during installation. Again, there is no one to talk to about having them replaced. You’ve been warned.
I don’t know what is going on with this company. I returned my order and it as received on 10/3. I was advised it takes 10 business days for return to be processed plus 72hr for refund to be processed. I checked on the status of my return was told the returns for 9/26 are being processed now! It appears they are holding up the return process! DO NOT BUY anything from this company!
The customer service is non-existent. They do not ship some products and DO NOT inform customers of the status at all. You have to call them. They have transferred everything to the Shop app, which is terrible. If you want to check your orders or delivery status, they claim it is on the Shop app, but it isn't. If you return something, it takes weeks to be processed, and you receive NO updates or emails about whether they have received your return or returned your money.
Should anybody wonder why they claim to be the longest running catalog when they sell things that they cannot deliver? I placed an order June 29th, and today, October 2nd, still nothing. What horrible service and no wonder they have a rating at the 1 level. I would call this a scam company as I guess they make their money by keeping OUR money for several months interest free. And the things they really do have, you can find most of the time at other retailers for much much less. It's a scam.
I'm giving them two stars only because people who leave one star are not believable. Big surprise. "If for any reason you're not delighted with your purchase you may return it within 30 days". Opps! Forgot to mention there was a $13 return fee and I would need to pay postage.My $39 sweater, which is too large, is going to charity. In business for a long time, but Amazon is the long term winner. I should have known.
Horrible company. No service at all. They do not respond to email or queries. Just send stupid auto-responses with the lie that your email will be responded to in 24 hours. Once they have your money, you are out of luck. The company should be investigated for fraud and shut down.
Contact your credit card company and file fraud charges because they will steal your money by not delivering what you order from them. Tell everyone you know.
