Well first of all Harlan has a great looking website, warm and inviting with the assurance the company has been around for 100 plus years. You instantly bank on the quality of the bags, feeling as though the craftsmanship has been handed down from generation to generation. I bit hook, line and sinker plus the discount and free shipping lure. I received a notice the bag had been shipped and a couple of days later I clicked on tracking to learn my purchase was coming from China. Huh was my reaction and I contacted Harlan about the dishonesty only to be told China and a couple of others are top notch in leather made goods. I responded and said then if they are that accomplished you should add same to your website and be transparent that the purchase might be from China and not handmade at Harlan. Both times got a generic answer saying if I have questions etc. and I’m like what did I just ask in my email. Bag arrived today, is not like the one pictured on Harlan website, has an odd smell, no emblem or label saying Harlan, cheap lining that moves all over the place. I have seen multiple second hand bags like this at Goodwill thrift stores. Shame on you Harlan and my sympathy to your ancestors.
