Hertz - Los Angeles - LAX Marriott Hotel Avis 

I have rented cars hundreds of times from Hertz. The experience with this specific rental location was horrible. I waited 90 minutes to get my car, and then they didn’t even have an SUV, which is what I had reserved. The agents were beyond incompetent. During my 90 minute wait the agents only served two other customers who were ahead of me in line. By the time I finally left there were more than 10 equally frustrated people waiting for their cars. While I was waiting outside for the car they finally got for me (which was not what I had reserved) out of total frustration I made a comment to a staff member outside cleaning cars asking whether the operation at this location was always this horrible. His response - “oh yeh”. I will never rent from this location again and strongly recommend others find alternative locations from which to rent from Hertz.

The pickup experience was horrible.

• The place was not open on Sunday so I had to rent for 3 days rather than the 2 I need.
• I pre-checked in but there was no gold member pick up at this location.
• When I went to chat on the Hertz app. Messages from agents were not delivered unless I navigated away from the chat and then back in. I got dropped from chat 4 time because of this.
• It took an hour and a half to get my car as there was a line and 1 person working the desk.
• The car was dirty when we got out to it.
• We missed the ferry to Catalina Island because the long wait to check out (really the only reason I rented the car, because I could have Uber ’ed to Malibu where we were staying).
• And now you’re trying to charge for fuel I already put in.

We didn’t get the vehicle type we wanted and we were told none were available. They said they “upgraded” us to a luxury car, however it was much smaller (small sedan) than what we had reserved (full-size suv). And when we went out to get the car, there were several suvs in the lot

car could have been a bit cleaner but overall my experience was good. I'd def rent from them again.

Jeff the operation manager at this location is very good, he's always accommodating to his customers and make sure everything is okay.

I didn’t like being a Gold Level member and having to wait in line rental. There was one person working counter and I received a selection that I would normally not have accepted.
