I was looking for contact glue for repairing a glass ornament. Jacquie took me straight to the exact product I needed. I've since used the product and it worked just as it said in the instructions. Thanks Jacquie your help saved me a lot of time looking for what I needed. The glass ornament is repaired.
Ordering on line and collection was 100%.
Unfortunately the after sale experience was not. In the boot of my car the lid of the paint I purchased became loose and paint spilled everywhere. I returned to the store where the very pleasant cashier explained that there was nothing they could do.
I asked to speak to the store manager who confirmed that after I had left the store any accidental spills were not the company’s responsibility. I tried to explain that the lid of the paint must’ve been faulty and I enquired if they could as an act of goodwill offer me any discount on a replacement tin of paint. No was the answer but she could give me something to clean the paint off my hands. She proceeded to open a brand new canister of wet wipes and gave me 2.
I enquired if staff received any store discount on which she replied no. When I challenged her that she had lied to me as I knew staff received 20% she then confirmed that she did but I wasn’t entitled to that. I agreed and wasn’t suggesting such but was trying to point out that if staff received discount then surely due to the circumstances the company could offer some kind of discount on a repurchase. I was then told that what discount she received was none of my business. I asked what her name was and she would only give me her first name, Nicola.
I am a regular customer at this store and it has put me off returning in the future.

Bought online click and collected. Less than an hour to let.me know the order was ready.
I went in to seek plant advice at the hessle branch today as I have a terrible issue with fungus gnats with my plants. I was literally at my wits end with them so thought I'd ask if anyone knew in the garden centre what I could do to get rid of them. A man called Ady helped me who was very helpful with products in the store but then a 'plant lady' colleague called Sophie also gave me some incredible advice as she had them and managed to get rid of them!
So helpful, really super knowledgeable and directed me to where I needed to be for the right treatment. So so glad I went in there as now my problem will hopefully be solved through the extremely knowledgeable staff working there!

I was looking for a plug which only featured a USB socket, could I find one in Hull? No. Homebase was my last resort. When I arrived two lady staff members introduced themselves as Laura and Kirsty, they gave me a welcoming smile and asked if they could help me find what I was looking for. I told them my requirements for a plug with only a USB socket. Laura and Kirsty thought they might have one, but weren't sure. So all three of us went to the electrical aisle and after a brief search, they found me one at a cost of £8.00. I was delighted. Laura and Kirsty certainly went the extra mile. They offered really great customer service and are a credit to Homebase. I will certainly shop at your store in the future.
Keep calling the store in Hessle and no one answers the phone.

Laura came to my rescue and she knew exactly which fitting I required. It was not a huge sale, but Laura's thoughtfulness and keen interest in my requirement made such a difference. She provided great customer service which I appreciated.
Brett, the designer, guided us through the design process and simplified many of our problems. It was a pleasure to deal with the store and would highly recommend. Yvonne W also assisted and was equally excellent.
Thanks Nic for helping with my heavy BBQ purchase. Polite and happy to help me lift in the store and definitely wouldn't have got it in the car without you.
