Howdens - Hartlepool Avis 

Getting stock is fine no quibbles at all. However the info on the website for the trade is poor and needs correcting.
Plinths i got needed plinth clips. I ordered the clips and screws for them. Yet the clips come with the screws. Website says nothing about whats included. I also ordered the plinth seals and again they came with the plinths. Again not detailed on the website.
Small things like this make a big difference to the overall ordering process and stress associated with it.
Even the sales staff didnt know these items came altogether either.

Staff went above and beyond to resolve a couple of problems I had with hardware under warranty.

Everyone in the hartlepool branch is a blessing to deal with and nothing is too much trouble.

I've ordered white high gloss doors, I received mat, plus Howdens relentlessly added things that were unnecessary, which increased my bill by almost £1000 with the end panels, but the cherry on top is the finish of my doors, either the system changed from gloss to mat, as once also she had to reboot the system as it was frozen, or she entered into my account and changed all to mat as she did with the 1 cabinet. I had space for a single 80cm cabinet, and I ordered standard height, but I have received tall one, which is very expensive compare to standard height. When queried she answered "I thought to give you extra space" But I never asked her to think about my wallet!
As about my doors, she immediately lie about it, and the manager followed suit, but when I proved the contrary, he started to add words into the builder conversation to try to push the problem on my side.
POOR QUALITY Shelves 3-4mm gaps, drawers poor finished, and gaps, poor finish cupboards doors, chipped shelves...
My only luck is that I like this mat finish, otherwise I have the proof need it to take them to Ombudsman as they were rude, and insulting with their attitude.
Ikea has better quality doors then Howdens, so think about it...

Just recently purchased our kitchen from Howdens, Hartlepool and we would like to thank everyone involved for all their help and expertise. From start to finish our experience was first class and in particular would like to say a huge thank you to Gareth who went above and beyond. In fact no matter who we dealt with they were absolutely lovely and very knowledgeable and helpful. A credit to the Manager Phil. We would definitely recommend Howdens to all our family and friends.

I am a trade customer of Howdens and have been for over twenty years, as a building contractor who's business operates all over the North of England I have used numerous branches in different areas. This is the first time in all of my years dealing with the company I've felt the need to leave feedback on the service. We recently had a design and quote done for a £12,000 kitchen. We accepted the quote and due to our tight programme on site and being short staffed we asked the designer to recommend a fitter. The designer sent the plans to a kitchen fitter (Neil Fannan Joinery) and we received a quote which we accepted. This is something I've done with various Howdens in different areas without any issues. The kitchen fitter arranged dates inline with the schedule on site and started work. We had no initial issue as everything seemed to be getting carried out in a reasonable manner. Around 2 days before the kitchen was completed the kitchen fitter informed us he was going on holiday for two weeks and he wouldn't finish it until his return, this wasn't as agreed and was past the handover date for the project. We had to make it clear to him that we would have to put our own joiners onto the kitchen and complete the work. Its was at this point our foreman, an experienced joiner for more than 20 years started to discover numerous issues with the installation. Units not level, badly set out making door clearance difficult, blanking panels in corner units missing. In all it was poor quality. As a result of this we had our own joiners go over the installation and bring it upto the standard that we work to. I have no issues with the materials supplied by Howdens and will be using them again in the future. I do unfortunately have issues with the handling of my complaint to Hartlepool Howdens. I asked the designer to contact me regarding his recommendation of the fitter, this never happened. I contacted the branch and was told someone would call me back, this never happened. On my last attempt to highlight the issue I was passed to someone who said they where the assistant manager. When I explained the situation she bluntly told me they don't recommend installer's, they only provide a list for customers. The conversation became heated when I informed her that on this occasion the designer did recommend someone and I suggested that the installer he had provided shouldn't be on their list. I explained it wasn't acceptable to have some customer spend thousands of pounds on kitchen units to have it badly fitted. The response from the member of staff was that the fitter spends alot of money with the branch and would remain on the list of installer's. So in an effort to prevent someone who doesn't have a team of experienced joiners to correct poor workmanship I'm highlighting the issue on Trust pilot.

Very helpful, order arrived on time, great advice regarding which materials to choose.
