I sold my ring a few months back and like many others here, never got paid. They sent the original email everyone else got "COVID bla...bla..." but they're not responding to any emails. I think the "buyers" are actual employees. Someone said contact NY attorney general? Anything else we can do besides hire an attorney? I have insurance on the ring but I doubt they'll cover something like this.
“I do, now I don’t” must refer to them reneging on their promise of payment. My ring was sold in March.
It is now almost September (7 months later!!!), and I have not been paid. I have also been told on 3 different occasions that I would receive my payment by the end of that week: I have not.
You’d be better off going to a pawn shop.
I have requested that they return my ring, to no avail. I am considering filing a laswsuit.
Sold my ring at the beginning of April, so should have received payment in May. Have emailed them multiple times only to receive an email back saying no one is in the office to print and send checks. This seems a bit odd since NYC is back open and masks have been the obvious thing to do to help prevent the spread of the virus, so why have they not done it. Oh, probably because they are just continuing to have customers purchase rings, take the commission, then not pay the sellers. It doesn’t take but one single person to print and send a check. This is sad and pathetic for a business to take advantage of sellers and this pandemic to make money on their part and not pay their customers. What they need to do is take less of a commission and get their sellers paid. Poor business practices and ethics on part of the employees running this business. I will never work with these people ever again given how they give excuse after excuse as to why they can’t pay their sellers.
SCAM!!!! They admitted to the complaints on BBB and like others have never paid me. They refuse to let me speak with anyone in management. However, are happy to take my jewelry and keep my money. If your happy with being stole from then use this company.
They’re crooks. Don’t use them unless you’re prepared to higher a lawyer to receive payment.
I sold my engagement ring back in November. I had read all the reviews about the delays in payments so I was already expecting it to be a few months before I got my check. In February, I still hadn’t received a check, so I sent them an email. They responded with something about having to change the ring size before sending it to the buyer. So I decided to stay patient. I was happy they responded to me. Another month went by, and Covid hit. So, now when I emailed them they were saying that because of covid, payments are being delayed. I’m not saying their poor communication and excuses for delayed payments are justified because I still don’t understand how it took so long. They have had the payment from the buyer since November as far as I know because it was a direct buy. And they stated in emails that people were working remote during covid, so how is it that someone couldn’t process and sign a check while working remote. But, what I can say is that as of today, I have the check in hand, in the full amount that was promised, and it cleared through my bank account. So, overall, I am happy with their service. They came through in the end, and I got more money out of it than I would have selling my engagement ring any other way.
I sold an engagement/wedding ring set on this site in January 2020 and expected payment in February 2020. I have not received payment yet, despite multiple attempts to reach them. They owe me $9300. I will be filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the NYS Attorney General.

An investigation is now being opened for what appears to be embezzlement and or wire fraud from this company. The NY Attorney General's website is: ag.ny.gov from the google search box. Good Luck everyone! From the Google search box, click > ag.ny.gov > "File a Complaint" > "Consumer Issues" > "Consumer Frauds or Scams" > then fill in contact form and send back.
Do not use them at all!!! They are thieves. I’ve still not been paid for my ring that sold 4 months ago. They do not respond to your emails. It’s straight up theft. Next stop will be the BBB and a letter from my attorney.
OMG! Is EMBEZZLEMENT going on here? I was getting ready to send in my "sold" Diamond Ring until I saw all these AWFUL reviews! These are the worst I have ever seen with any company. I bet all of us have the same experiences how our items sold! First you get a ridiculous offer, you counter with a much higher offer - then the "person" writes back and immediately "accepts" your offer...hmmm..just like that! This was on a expensive ring that hasn't moved in 3 years! I did business with IDNID (as a Seller) several years ago and the process worked great, payment within 2 weeks. But this time, SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG and I wrote to them saying so! I sold a necklace within the last 45 days and continue to ask where is my money or my Necklace? They respond curtly, with another delay, always using the name "Customercare". Before I send in my next sold item - I told them I want payment, an explanation, and a name and contact info of a Supervisor. Maybe it is time for all of us to escalate this!
June 2020. THEY ARE NOT PAYING!! And not answering. They emailed me saying they sold my ring and asking me to send it in APRIL, they told me then my payment was going to be sent on MAY 15,2020. We are in JUNE 10th and i still dont receive the payment and they dont answer, im thinking i need to go to the police. I have been sending emails and no answer. They cannot use the Coronavirus as excuse because they did have the time to ask me to send the ring in the middle of the pandemia. Hope they see this and contact me!!!
I sold my Tiffany Diamond solitaire ring through I Do Now I Don't, it was received by them on Jan 10, 2020. According to the "I Do Now I Don't" contract I should have received my payment during their February payment cycle. I emailed the company several times regarding payment and each time I get a template email response saying they are behind and thank you for your patience etc. My last email indicated that I would like either payment or my property returned so that I may sell it elsewhere. I received yet another template email blaming Covid-19 for the delay. Keep in mind they had no trouble taking my item and likely the buyers money but for some reason are unable to fulfill the contract we entered into six months ago. During this shutdown I have been able to send and receive money with no issue. Any excuse for non-payment is unacceptable especially since the transaction had taken place before anyone was affected by the pandemic. Unethical business practice to say the least. These people are thieves!
I have good and bad things to say about I Do Now I Don't. I, like others, sold my ring to them with their direct buy option in December 2019, mailed the ring to them, and expected to receive payment in January. When I didn't receive the check over the next several months I was very worried that I had been scammed and lost the ring forever. I am happy to say that today (May 2020) I received a check for the full price they promised. They paid more for my ring than any local jewelers were willing to pay. Was the extra $200 worth 4 months of worry and frequent calls and emails to the company to ask about the status of my payment only to be told it was delayed indefinitely? Today, check in hand, I would say yes, but yesterday it was definitely a different story. If you choose to work with them be prepared for delays and uncertainty, but from my experience they do come through in the end.
ZERO STARS IF I COULD! Do not trust the positive reviews shown anywhere for this company. I sold a ring in December and have not yet received payment or any update from the company. I’ve had to constantly reach out to them for updates. They’ve told me they’ve experienced delays in processing with no valid reason and they are now using the pandemic as an excuse. Looks like their site is still operable, so why can’t my payment be processed? I’ve already submitted a complaint with the BBB. Please trust the reviews of those who have not received payment for months because that will be your same experience. Incredibly unprofessional and unreliable company. SELL YOUR RING ELSEWHERE IF YOU WANT TO GET PAID!
I couldn’t be more thrilled with my new ring! Customer service responded SO quickly when I had questions, and my purchase arrived in pristine condition. What a wonderful resource for selecting a sparkling engagement ring or wedding set! I found the most gorgeous upgrade for my 20th wedding anniversary, thank you!!!
I would say DONT. Business seems to have cash flow problems as I have not received payment from my sale in December 2019. Yes, 5 months and still nothing. Emails are now blaming Covid-19. Convenient.
I don’t even want to give this place one star but I had to! I sold my ring in SEPTEMBER 2019 and have NEVER received my money. I have emailed them numerous times and spoken on the phone with them several times. They always tell me the same thing; “they are backlogging and trying to catch up but they promise to get me my money.” They owe me $3,100! It has been EIGHT MONTHS and I will probably never see this money. This was a $10,000 ring I sold them! So frustrating!!! I do NOT recommend this site at all!!!
This company sold over 9k of my jewelry last year ,and they refusing to pay me over& over.has made about fiffte payments inguires.and no payments.dont know what else to do.dont sale Tru then.they also known as delgatto .lacate in NYC.
Doing my research: Anyone notice that the 5 star positive feedback is ALL by men who ALL also posted 5 star reviews on the Elegant Construction Trustpilot website? They are all from the United Kingdom as well. A few of them have male pictures with female names. Check out "Betty Damian, Kochwerk Ltd, Tony, MD Nurujaman Faruk, Lily J Jarvis, AND Stine M Hermansen." They ALL posted 5 star positive reviews on the same company's website and mention great customer service (only ones to say that!). One name is "Kochwerk Ltd," COME ON! Weird, I think not.... I will not be purchasing any products from these crooks from the losers.
