Unpaid

Had a very small bill left over at an imaging center. Paid it thru Instamed on 2/9/26. It's now 2/25/26 and I still owe the money to the office. I sent an email to Instamed customer support 8 days ago, not a single response. DO NOT PAY ANY BILLS USING THIS SERVICE.

The hospital I contract with contracts…

The hospital I contract with contracts with Instamed. For payment, Instamed sent me a 'virtual' credit card that I could not use. I took it to my bank and they could not process it. Fortunately, I couldn't because they charge 2.99% to use their virtual card for YOUR payment. So, I called Instamed. They don't do paper checks, but claimed they do EFT. Now I've been waiting for the EFT for several weeks and still no funds from them, although they told me over the phone '1 or 2 business days'.

InstaMed is a horrible portal service.

InstaMed is horrible at keeping transactions and amounts current. Customer Service is terrible and basically worthless. When trying to get amounts adjusted, they drop the ball and take over 20 days to make corrections to your statements on the online portal. One of the worst online portals I have ever used. If you try to contact your medical provider, they just defer you InstaMed. Often times you feel like you're being taken due to the lack of detail and explanation about charges. Especially for APAP or CPAP. I've given up trying to work with them over a small charge for the last three months. Always an excuse. They reduced the charge, but no update will be availed till the 28th. 21 days later, a recuring issue with this company.

Running a scam…

They keep sending me emails saying I owe money that Samaritan says I don’t owe. Luckily I didn’t pay them anything because I know I’ve paid for all services on the day of service. This company seems to be running a scam. Don’t pay them a dime. Contact your medical provider directly regarding billling.

Instamed is a scam

Instamed is a scam. My insurance company had the option to pay from the claims page via Instamed, which I stupidly tried to use for 4 claims. Instamed debited $1800 for the claims, said they were being processed, then never paid the hospital. Turns out it's all a scam, and Instamed is not a accepted payment method for most healthcare service providers. They either don't deal with them at all, or Instamed sends the payments to the wrong addresses, and forces the lowly consumer to deal with the aftermath of their payments never arriving.

So now I am forced to spend hours trying to get my money back from Instamed, and I will have to double pay in the meantime to prevent being taken to collections. Hopefully I will get a refund from Instamed, but given the experience other people have had with them, I am assuming they will do everything they can to steal my money. If nothing else I just involuntarily gave JP Morgan Chase(Instamed's owner) an $1800 interest free loan for a month(or 2, 3,4...).

I paid my bill to instamed thinking my…

I paid my bill to instamed thinking my bill would be paid expeditiously, however after immediately taking the money out of my account after 3 weeks still never paid my bill. I then asked for a refund which took another 2 weeks. WHAT A JOKE OF A SERVICE! Especially coming from JP Morgan, a reputable company. Shame on you for this horrid worthless service

They make you pay

You'll pay even when you don't owe the money. They don't answer the phone. They hang up on you. They transfer your call then the person tries to transfer you back and it all starts over again. After spending hours and hours trying to resolve a wrongful billing, you'll just pay to get rid of them. They email and text you constantly. They won't send a bill in writing. Northeast Ohio eye surgeons just lost the customer after years of loyalty.

Do not do business with this company

Do not do business with this company. The customer service support was unprofessional and refused to provide information about the charges imposed on payments when inquired by our staff. They expect every staff member to be registered to ask simple queries, and their charges are unreasonable.

They are holding a large amount of my…

They are holding a large amount of my money and refuse to give me any information about when and how they will release the funds unless I fill out a form and provide my driver's license and other financial information. They have not provided my money to me and refuse to say when and how I will receive the funds. When I called Instamed I asked their representative to let me speak with a supervisor, the representative just hung up on me,

DO NOT USE INSTAMED

Cigna dental somehow convinced me to pay my dentist via instamed. The money left my bank account immediately. My dentist office has never heard of instamed and never received payment. Now I am stuck trying to claw my money back from instamed.

update: 3 days later no response to emails to instamed support. Impossible to get through by phone.

On February 22 I had an email from instamed stating my bank account had been credited my refund. This is false. As of March 4, 2024 I have not been credited. I have sent another email to instamed and will update my review if I hear anything. I plan to make a formal complaint with my states division of banking.

Worthless company

I have tried unsuccessfully for nearly 2 months (2 days short) to integrate my instamed account with my electronic medical record. Instamed's first line employees will always be nice. The problem is, they are completely ineffective. You will give given a song and a dance and your problem WILL NOT BE RESOLVED. Management will refuse to talk to you.
This may be the worst company I have ever dealt with in 15 years of business. Do yourself a favor and never enter into any agreement/contract with this company.

BEWARE

BEWARE: I am Struggling to get my canceled payment of $816.59 back.
They didn't have a credit of 165.00 listed that I was due so I canceled my payment within 15 hours, they hadn't even pulled it from my checking account yet.
The website said 10 days for refunds, on the 11th day I called and was told it is 14 business days, on the 14th business day I called and was told it is now running about 17 days. on the 17th day, I called and was told the 14 days start today so it will be another 14 days. On a canceled payment, not a refund??? I got my insurance (Cigna) involved because they are the ones who have this Instamed link to pay on their website and now I am being advised by my insurance to not use the link but to pay my medical provider directly. Please do not trust your medical bills to Instamed. Their practices bordering fraudulent and scam-like.

Poor customer service. forgot my password they tell me they will email me a form. i fill out the form and email me back 2 days later still refusing to give me access to my account.

Instamed Surprise

My rheumatologist's practice offers on-line bill payments through their website -- via InstaMed.

I thought that was a great idea and went onto the site to pay my bill with a credit card. Just before I hit Enter, the payment amount increased by a full $13.00 -- and the application would not let me go back to the previous screen. Luckily, I just terminated my session at that point and the transaction was not completed.

I might have missed some fine print somewhere on my initial entry into the system, but I eventually concluded that the extra fee was added because I wanted to pay by credit card -- and that it would not have been added if I had let the application hit my bank account directly.

Especially for first-time users, there doesn't seem to be any advance warning that there will be any kind of extra charge added on to a current invoice. It happens suddenly at the last moment -- and there is no explanation for how the fee is calculated (or why.)

So - beware -- unless you don't mind letting a system like this into your private checking account. It's the trickiest kind of on-line payment system I've ever run into.

What's Going On Here?

I am a service provider. Instamed started sending me client payments without my having an account or any kind of agreement with them. When I couldn't deposit the virtual Visa, I called them. They said I'd have to call Cigna. Cigna said they had no idea what I was talking about. I literally spent an hour being transferred and kept on hold without any resolution.

It's paperless, so the only way for me to get paid is to sign up an Instamed account because I can't run their Visa card like any other card. Not to mention that it costs 2.99% plus .49. Why would I pay that when I can get electronic deposits free?

Finally, it hit me that this is a scam. I didn't have an Instamed account and neither did the client. Why am I dealing with them at all? None of my other accounts handle billing in this way.

It feels like a shady way to get business.

Instamed uses Deceptive Unethical Business Practices

Without my permission Instamed has linked their "Pay" button to my business on the Evernorth/Cigna website so that my patients use the button thinking they are paying me. I have called InstaMed and told them that I have not agreed to this and that I want the pay button removed. They continue to keep a pay button up, and I continue to receive letters telling me that I can collect my patients' copays by paying InstaMed through a credit card number they assign. Yes, they are trying to sell my patients' payments to me. While I have declined these "payments" my patients are needing to go through the inconvenience of requesting refunds from InstaMed. This is a source of frustration and inconvenience. I don't know how they got my information-- or my patients' information which is HIPAA protected. InstaMed uses deceptive unethical business practices as detailed above.
