Tauranga, New Zealand - The most unprofessional lawn company I have ever had the misfortune to contact. I had previously been having my lawn mowed for years without any issue by a very friendly and pleasant gentleman but he retired so hence the need to get a new lawn mowing company. I rang Jim's Mowing 0800 number and asked for a quote to mow my lawns on a fortnightly basis. The local franchise owner rang me back a few hours later, I gave him my full name and address and he said he thought he knew where the house was as he may have given a quote to mow the lawns at this address some years before. He then described where he thought it was, he was not correct. I gave him directions as to where the house is. He promised me a quote the following week. I asked him to leave the quote in the letterbox. One week later I received a text from him asking if the quote was to give to WINZ, a government agency. (for an old age pension) I replied no it was not and gave him my full name again for the quote. He then sent another text asking the same question again if it was for WINZ but more forcibly this time. I said no again and gave my name yet again and asked him why he had asked this question twice? He replied and said he didn't believe me, he said he had done a quote at this house some years before and this was a pattern for people and Winz. He said said he did not want to do anymore mowing of lawns for people on pensions and he would not give me a quote as he was not taking anymore Winz clients and I would have to get my free quote elsewhere. Those were his words in writing. I was dumfounded. How unprofessional is this franchisee and outright rude.

Jim’s Mowing Banora Point/Tweed shire. Asked the gardener if he could just wait one second until my child and I go inside the house and he declined and put a noisy mower on despite that.
We are in a duplex. It literally would’ve taken a few seconds for us to get in.

Quoted an absurd amount to which they thought the arborists would have to come. I was quoted about $3,000 for work that my 65 year old father did in an afternoon. Very disappointing and would not recommend or use ever.

After the service, cut grass was left sitting on top of the lawn, and grass clippings and leaves were left in the garden bed and soil areas. No clean-up or blow-down was done around the edges, leaving the area looking unfinished.

The lawn was left very short and patchy following the service and looked significantly worse than before it was mowed.

Given the price paid, I expected the lawn to be left tidy and professionally finished. Unfortunately, the overall standard of work did not meet that expectation.

Really disappointing experience, expected professionalism, didn’t get it.

I booked a mowing service through a big name franchise because I thought going with a well known brand would mean reliability and proper customer care. Unfortunately, the experience was the opposite.

The person assigned to my job kept changing the appointment time, and communication was very poor. When they finally arrived, the job felt rushed, the edging was uneven, clippings were left everywhere, and parts of the lawn still looked untouched. For the price they charge, I expected a much more thorough service.

Trying to get support afterwards was frustrating as well. I was bounced between the local operator and the central office, and no one took real ownership of the issue.

Overall, the brand name didn’t translate into quality or consistency for me. I won’t be using them again.

Very disapointed, I called them they didn't answer, then they called back telling me that their franchisor will contact me. the franchisor contacted me a week laters, that's two weeks after my enquiry to give me a random quote of $150 for 80 square meter of lawn mowing.

We are unhappy with some of the work done in our garden. We purchased expensive edging to be installed by Jim's Mowing. This was supposed to be the highlight and round off the overall look of our garden but was not installed in a straight line. One side leaning back and the front side all crooked. We will have to remove and re-do all of it. It is under strain and can't just be 'pushed' or forced straight. We are disappointed as good money was paid for a job now to be redone by ourselves.
