Terrible customer service - took advantage of old lady and stole $100.

Les Schwab took advantage of older lady who came in with her daughter to inquire about 2 tires replacement, Les Schwab rep asked for $100 deposit to reserve tire order (were not never told it’s non-refundable) - tires were never delivered or installed. The order was canceled next day but management refused to refund $100.

Terrible customer service - Armando promised to call back and did not and neither did their general manager.

We told Armando the reason for canceling - the same 2 tires are being offered at America’s Tire for $400 less - shame on Les Schwab for ripping off customers and taking advantage of old women. Now we’re filing complaint with BBB and engaging other avenues to get our $100 back - will never be back here and can’t recommend.

Horrible

Normally Les Schwab is okay but this has to do with Les Schwab on Hilltop Drive in Redding California . You know I bought tires from them about 6 months ago and then about 3 months later I had my front end shaken so I brought it in they did some work rotated my tire said it was fine. Thanks I got an email saying it's time to get them rotated again so I took it in and I noticed one of my tires was ruined. Ask them to take a look at it was it supposed to happen they were supposed to fix that the last time. When they said they couldn't even rotate my tires because it's gone down so much and legally they couldn't. I asked him to then give me a new tire it's not my fault it's your fix on my car. They told me they weren't going to do anything so I told them I was going to give them bad reports everywhere online. Then they have really insulting part as I said quit threatening us. LOL I wasn't threatening I was promising to give them a bad name if they didn't take care of my tire.

They used to be great

They used to be great - reasonable, prompt.
Last time, I brought my truck in to replace one tire (I provided the tire because they didn't have the same one, and it's a 4WD so all tires must be the same). The guy didn't bother to measure threads on other tires which is essential for a 4WD vehicle. Fortunately, I am an automotive professional myself so I did it prior to bringing the truck to them. When I mentioned it to him, his face said "blah blah blah".
Next, he overtightened lug nuts, and if it was not for another guy... How hard is it to check torque specs?!? If it were some kind of a ford or bmw, he would've damaged rotors, and if it were a chrysler, he would've stripped studs.
And finally, they charged $50 for mounting and balancing ONE tire. How screwed up is that?!?

I had the control arm replaced in…

I had the control arm replaced in December 2024. Last week in traffic on the freeway the ball joint broke off leaving me barely any steering. I had to be towed off the freeway by the CHP and then be towed to the nearest Les Schwab over an hour away costing me almost $500. The Asst Manager Shawn at their Fremont location went Above and Beyond to stay late for the repairs, realigned my truck twice and wrote to their corporate office in hopes of getting the tow fees reimbursed. This was one week ago. Today I was notified that a check is in the mail. Thank you Shawn!! This type of Customer Service is rare, and I want acknowledge you for this!! Thank you so much!!!!

kinda feel like I got okeedoked

when I went in to purchase 4 new tires I was under the impression that when you buy 4 new tires that they mount and balance them for free i even looked on the internet and it said when you buy 4 new tires they don't charge for mounting and balancing well not so they do charge you for balancing which is bull s. if you want them balanced again later then it's free they also throw in that they have to put new valve stems another charge anyway pretty petty to charge for balancing if you just purchased 4 new tires and they could be a bit clearer on the internet when you ask if balancing is free

After months of frustrating and unresolved issues with my 2019 Ford F-150—including multiple dealership visits, poor workmanship, mounting rental car fees, and countless hours lost from work—I finally experienced what true customer service looks like thanks to Shawn B., the store manager at Les Schwab in Fremont.

From the moment I walked in, Shawn went above and beyond to help me. He took the time to personally test drive my vehicle—despite it being a few years older than his own—so he could better understand what I was experiencing. He listened carefully, educated me throughout the process, and assured me that I was in good hands. For the first time in a long time, I truly felt like someone cared about getting it right.

Shawn made thoughtful recommendations for new tires and explained the 60-day satisfaction guarantee in case I wasn’t happy with the ride quality. He immediately identified the “wobbly” handling I had been dealing with and suggested we install camber and caster plates for a more precise alignment. His explanation of alignment and handling issues was clear and informative—something I had not received from multiple prior shops.

During the tire installation, Shawn came into the waiting area and personally brought me out to the service bay to show me an issue he discovered: a faulty vacuum actuator on the IWE (Integrated Wheel End) system, which was causing the truck to try to engage 4WD unnecessarily—contributing to the poor driving performance. Without hesitation, Shawn drove his own vehicle to the nearest Ford dealership and purchased a new OEM actuator for me on the spot. He even offered to buy me lunch while he was out and apologized that I had been dealing with this issue for so long. Though the part ultimately wasn’t the full solution, his effort and concern were something I had not experienced anywhere else.

Three weeks later, I received a call from Shawn—checking in to make sure the tires were riding well and to see whether I had gotten the IWE system further diagnosed. He genuinely wanted to ensure everything was working properly, especially while I was still within the 60-day return window. When I told him I had a mechanic appointment scheduled, he gladly offered to speak directly with them if needed.

A week later, while on a test drive with my new mechanic, I called Shawn—and even though he was in a conference out of town in Reno, he picked up the phone and spoke directly with my technician, providing background and insight from what he had observed. That level of follow-through is incredibly rare.

Shawn exemplifies what every customer service professional should strive to be. In a time when “good enough” seems to be the norm, Shawn sets the gold standard. He genuinely cares, follows through, and treats his customers with respect, integrity, and a true sense of responsibility.

Because of Shawn, I will continue bringing my business to Les Schwab in Fremont. He not only resolved a major part of my vehicle troubles—he restored my confidence in what real customer service looks like.

Shawn is an incredible asset to Les Schwab and absolutely deserves recognition and advancement within the company. He is the kind of leader others should emulate.

So this happened at least 30 years ago. Since then I have attempted to never buy another tire or anything from Les Schwab tires in East Wenatchee, Wa. I had restored a 1969 Ford F100 truck, I took the truck to East Wenatchee Les Schwab for 4 new tires and custom chrome wheels. Approx 4 months later I attempted to take the wheels off to install 4 new studded winter tires on rims. The chrome wheels were severely over torqued and ended snapping off 2 to 3 studs on each wheel attempting to remove them. Contacted Les Schwab about his and they blew me off and denied any responsibility. No one else had touched the wheels since new. Since that day, I attempted not to purchase anything from Les Schwab. I now have over 25 vehicles, five full size tractors, five equipment trailers and four garden tractors. I refuse to do business with Les Schwab. I purchase my own "Coats" brand tire machine and change my own tires, bought on line or at Discount tire or Costco. Les Schwab screwed me and would never accept responsibility. I will never forget what they did to me and their lack of customer service or the morals and ethics to accept any responsibility.. This was at least 30 years ago. This review format will not allow a review over a year therefore I had to enter a 2024 date otherwise, once again they would not care!

Great Customer Service

I have to say I had a great experience; I have never gone to Les Schwab before. I was out of town had a flat tire, no spare, late in the afternoon. Les Schwab said they had the tires I needed, had my car towed but in actuality they didn't have the right tires when I got there. They called another shop and had someone go get them and they stayed late after business hours and put them on. So I could get home that night instead of me having to book a hotel room for the weekend, since tire shops aren't open on Sunday's I would have had to waiting until Monday to get tires.
I would like to "Thank" Personally JOSEPH at the Ukiah Store. Thanks so... Much you don't know how much we appreciate what you did for us. THANKS LuAnn & Vinnie Canales

I have used Les Schwab exclusively for years as my tire source for all my trucks and cars. Customer service and advice has been excellent as well as the lifetime of their tires.
Take advantage of free tire rotation and repair.
I'm a loyal customer for life.

What a joke LesSchwab has become.

What a joke LesSchwab has become.. totally untrustworthy and the employees are nothing like they use to be.. no pride in their work and work is HALF@$$ED!! New tires and alignment , tires have white staining all over them. They said it was from when they put the air in them. We will take it home and wash them.. They tried to push a brake job as usual.. However, we don’t need brakes. PS we always empty the console and glove boxes before we take our rig there. Last time we had a battery installed our car charger took a walk .. when I asked why someone would steal a car phone charger they said no one took it.. I said you better go find it. They went in the back and what do you know, they “found” it. They accidentally took it out and couldn’t remember what car it came out of!?!?! WHAT? Why would you remove a car charger during a battery install.. then as I’m driving out of the lot the rig stalls. I went in to tell them and we popped the hood. The battery was not even seated into the bracket and the bracket screwed down… WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING.. wish we had gotten our new tires somewhere else, we went with them because they have locations throughout the NW.. but never again.. I miss the good old days when businesses could be trusted and they cared about their customers…

I brought my Rav4 XLE Hybrid in to get…

I brought my Rav4 XLE Hybrid in to get a nail/flat tire fixed. I was told it would be a 45 minute wait. They got me in about 35 minutes. The tire was repaired and the pressure set right. I was told there was no charge for the service. I went home happy to have such great service at the Covington, Wa. Les Schwab. Thanks!

$1000 out for not the issue, and they ask for $1300 more for the actual issue

Told them about an issue i need resolved, truck shakes, they said sure, we need to replace these parts. So i went ahead with it, $1000+. Drove a couple times, still the same. Took back to les schwab and they said this time tires are just slightly unaligned. Truck started to shake agressively, so took to les schwab next day. Now a different guy says the precious guys used a different lift and didnt see the problems he saw. So now more parts $1300+.

They never solved the original issue, and sounds like they didnt do a full inspection in the first place. Used a different lift and not inspecting fully, then charging for parts that doesnt solve the issue i brought it in for, then trying to charge me for more saying this is the issue. How can i even trust that wheb they replaced old parts that had nothing to do with the issue

Les Schwab lies!

My husband took my car into Les Schwab yesterday to have the tire that had a screw in it fixed. Both my son and husband had to sit for a long while. My husband was informed that cords were showing on that tire and that he would have to purchase new tires for my car. They refused to fix it.

That was a lie! There are no cords showing on that tire! I had it off my car and filled it with the flat repair foam cans the day before. I would have seen it! The tire has plenty of wear left.

They also told my husband that my car needed new brakes asap and they are totally shot. Again, a LIE! I just had them done not long ago.

Shame on Les Schwab!!!! They used to be a good company. But they lost our business permanently after this stunt.

My husband called Tire Rama and they fixed the tire for free!!!! They also checked the brakes and double checked the tire in question. It was confirmed that Les Schwab LIED!!

Tire Rama will make more on that "Free" tire fix than if they had charged for it. We will be going to them from now on!

Take your vehicle to Tony Gosselin and Sons! They do great work and are respectable people. I made the mistake of scheduling an appointment at Les Schwab for a break inspection. Car was making a grinding noise when breaking. They said my breaks looked fine and the noise was probably from dust. A week later I had a friend check the breaks because the noise hadn’t stopped or changed. He pulled the tire off and my breaks that ‘looked fine’ were less than 1mm thick. A little more driving and I would have had to replace rotors and possibly the caliber too. Les Schwab will not be getting any more of my cash and I suggest you don’t waste yours here either.

Les Schwab Cannon City co

Decided to change out tires ( theirs ), not less than 7/32 but time and 1900 dollars later. The wheels are purchased from the tire store (cannon city co les scwab) also. Once completed there were air gun marks on the caps and wheels. No one touches them but those morons. Manager said it didn't happen at that store. Who did it then the tooth ferry? I just discovered they switched to wheel weights that get hammered on. The tapped ones were removed and they left the tape. WTF is wrong with you losers. So now I have tape and wheel marks on my wheels, not to mention they hammered on weights which is a no no. Won't happen again, I have a review on their site but it appears I am blocked.

Went in for a wheel noise possible out of round or unbalanced tire, brake or bearing issues, Less Shwabb did not even rotate the wheel by hand nor inspect the brakes They stated "the tire was old" this took an hour would not recommend they emphasize your safety inspection is free HaHa..
