Boring and tastless cake full of hydrogenated oil
Ok. So delivery was quick and they kept me up to date with emails.
Now the product which is the biggest con ever. This is a tastless and boring cake nothing like a home made honey cake they claim it to be. You can't taste the honey and it contains tons of sugar. They claim that it is 100% natural honey cake, ha ha, there is 5% honey in it when you read the ingredience there are tons of sugar, fully hydrogenated coconut oil, emulsifiers and flavourings. It tastes plastic and not home made.
Only good thing is my cat likes to sit in the box it came in. Otherwise a total waste of money and cake ended up in the bin. Shame on you.

For clarity for other readers, our honey cakes are produced in an IFS and BRC certified food facility using a traditional family recipe. We do not describe them as “homemade” in the sense of domestic baking.
All ingredients, including honey content and fats used, are clearly listed on our packaging and website in accordance with UK and EU food labelling regulations, and we encourage customers to review these details before purchasing.
Taste preferences vary, and while this product was not to your liking, many customers enjoy it and have shared positive feedback based on their own experience.

Dishonest company
I received a voucher from this company that advertised "up to 50% off" my next purchase. However, the discount was randomly assigned, something that was not clearly stated anywhere on the voucher. I ended up receiving a negligible discount, which felt deliberately deceptive.
The company claims that the random discount assignment is outlined in their terms and conditions, but this crucial detail was omitted from the actual voucher. Expecting customers to read through 13 pages of fine print before buying a cake is unreasonable and misleading.
Their response to my concerns only reinforces the impression that they are intentionally deceiving customers.
Do not trust the overwhelmingly positive reviews on the Marlenka website (their online shop) — they are clearly filtered. My honest review was never published, indicating deliberate censorship of customer feedback.
They claim to be open to honest feedback; however, this is not true. My genuine review on their website was removed, despite being based on a verified purchase.
They also claim they do not moderate customer feedback on Trustpilot. That, too, is false.
They attempted to delete my honest and accurate customer feedback twice.
First, they tried to remove it on defamatory grounds, but Trustpilot rejected that claim.
When that failed, they argued that my review was not based on a genuine experience.
They eventually succeeded in having my review removed.
After several months, I noticed my review was deleted. I then appealed to Trustpilot and provided documentary evidence. As a result, my review was republished.
They also claim that I have made multiple accusations across multiple platforms. That is also simply unfounded. I submitted my honest and accurate customer feedback once—to their website directly. When that was removed without notice or explanation, I chose to share the same experience on TrustPilot, a platform designed to protect consumer voices.
What’s particularly concerning is Marlenka's discomfort with users who prefer to remain anonymous. Privacy should be respected, not questioned.

We’re aware that this review was submitted under a false name, but we will respond transparently for the benefit of other readers.
The voucher in question clearly states “up to 50% off,” meaning the discount is variable and randomly assigned. This is a standard and transparent promotional format, and the full terms are publicly available and referenced in the offer. To describe this as deception is incorrect.
Claims that we filter or censor reviews are also false. We do not and cannot moderate reviews on Trustpilot. On our own website, only reviews submitted via verified purchases are published automatically. If a submission is made under a false name or with unverifiable details, it will not appear — this is not censorship but standard moderation policy.
We fully support open and honest feedback. However, using multiple false identities across platforms to make repeated accusations undermines the credibility of that feedback and misleads the public.
Update: We are disappointed by the continued misrepresentation in this review, especially after multiple attempts to clarify the facts directly with both the reviewer and Trustpilot.
1. Voucher Terms
The “up to 50%” discount campaign clearly states that the discount is assigned randomly. This is not hidden in 13 pages of fine print — it is disclosed on the campaign landing page and linked from the voucher.
2. Website Review
The review submitted to our site used a different identity and was nearly identical in language and structure. We publish all respectful feedback, positive or negative. This particular submission was flagged due to credibility concerns and tone.
3. Misleading Accusations
The claim that we censor, deceive, or manipulate customer feedback is false. We operate under clear standards and transparency. Accusations of dishonesty presented repeatedly under different aliases are not only misleading but harmful.
4. Trustpilot Moderation
We have not interfered with the reviewer’s right to express their opinion. We flagged the original post based on specific Trustpilot guidelines. The review was temporarily removed and later reinstated following their internal process.
5. Identity Concerns
The reviewer refuses to acknowledge the identical submission made to our platform under a different name. We maintain the right to question such conduct when it creates the appearance of multiple dissatisfied customers where only one exists.
We stand by our ethics, communication, and product quality. Genuine customers are welcome to voice their experiences, but we also reserve the right to correct false or manipulative statements for the benefit of all future customers.

Best service and taste of honey cakes!
Marlenka Enterprises not only have the best honey cake on the market, but they provide the most exceptional service I have ever received. I am a loyal customer for many reasons (highest being the taste of the cake). However, there was 1 incident when there was a break in my building and the cake package was stolen. I got a personal call from the Managing Director (Vince) and a wonderful email from Christine reassuring me a replacement cake. I didnt even think it was the business' fault but they took to their own effort to replace me another cake. It was for someone's birthday, and eventhough its pass the date, this was such a huge gesture from the business. This kind of personal touch is why Marlenka is the top cake business in the market. Will highly recommend buying their cakes!
