Having been an avid walker and camper…
Having been an avid walker and camper for many years, I have been to lots of outdoor shops.
I went to the Darlington store today to get some kit for my Mountain Leaders course. Julie and her colleague were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made the whole experience a very positive one. I felt reassured that the advice I was being given was based on experience that will prove to be invaluable, I was not just being given a sales pitch.

I’ve been to the Darlington store about walking shoes.
I’ve been to the Darlington store about 4 time in the last few months as my daughter is doing the DofE award scheme. Always a very pleasant and helpful service with great advice. James served us today as we bought some walking shoes and socks. Other staff remembered us and chatted away. I’d always make it my first port of call for outdoor gear. Great service.

I went to the store looking for a new Rucksack
I went to the store looking for a new rucksack, in their 60% off sale they had a range that were within my budget. Julie gave really good customer service, so I could look at different ones, their comfort, and what each of them had, and although she suggested a more expensive one, she gave me a discount on it too. So, a very good experience and thank you!

Excellent customer service
I purchased a pair of Merrell Accentor3 shoes from Millets Darlington. I was served by Julie. I have been suffering with pain in my heals. Julie tried several shoes on my feet, in different sizes to find a pair that was comfortable and fit and supported my feet and arch well. Julie customised the fit of the shoes to my feet with the addition of adjuster insoles to stop them slipping on the heal. Perfect. Thank you to Julie for your help and attention to detail in ensuring the shoes fit my feet so well.
