Terrible stores. Dirty, dangerous car parks. Uninterested staff. Over priced stock

Stopped at the Mole Avon Petrol Station in Okehampton on 1st February 2026 to buy AdBlue before a long journey.
My wife paid inside while I collected the AdBlue from their outside storage.
I was filling our car directly in front of the shop entrance with the boot wide open, kindling and logs from a friend clearly visible inside. A blonde staff member walked past, gave me an odd look, then watched me from inside the shop.

Minutes later, another staff member was sent out to interrogate me about the kindling in my boot, asking if I'd bought it from their shop. They never mentioned the AdBlue we'd actually purchased, just made baseless assumptions and accused me of theft.

Absolutely humiliating. I was a paying customer in broad daylight taking my time to fill the car with AdBlue and boot wide open, with nothing to hide, yet was treated like a criminal based on zero evidence.
When we left, no staff were visible in the store, I can only assume they were reviewing CCTV, still not satisfied despite having no legitimate reason for suspicion, trying to find the evidence that they were right.
We're local residents and have been regular customers for years, buying fuel, using the jet wash and vacuum facilities, and shopping at the farm shop. We will shop elsewhere from now on.
Being profiled as a thief while actively spending money at your establishment is unacceptable. Appalling customer service and deeply offensive treatment. Avoid if you value being treated with basic respect.

Lack of knowledge on product. Rude and unhelpful. What happened to customer first?

Terrible customer after sales service. The manager was awful. I bought a new mower and it broke down within 7 days. You would of expected money back or a replacement mower.
Instead I had too take the mower to a so called machinery expert myself ,to prove it was faulty.
Do not buy any equipment from this company

I ordered two bags of compost online at the Axminster store, went to pick them up at the warehouse only to find none were in stock.i was sent to the shop because it was a internet issue, the staff in the shop were very good but unable to provide an alternative. The manager was sent for and could not of been more obnoxious if he’d tried,I was made to feel it was my fault,I will not be going back

Visited store to purchase specific item. Greeted by friendly colleague who was helpful and knowledgeable. Spent some time browsing and was assisted with further items. Particular thanks to Freya and Jim for their help, and Bev on the checkout who was very friendly too. Will definitely be back.

This branch of Mole Avon has lost it's direction. It used to be an efficient store aimed at the farming community. It is now a fashion house for the wannabee country type and not much else. Try to contact and order from Agrisales, option one on the automated telephone service; you are wasting your time...... Management are in charge of this department, regular staff are on holiday, absent, missing, God knows, save your time and go elsewhere.

Visited Mole Avon Country Stores at Oakhampton today and purchased several purchases at competitive prices. Very helpful and friendly staff but especially Jim who spent time guiding my husband who is disabled round to several
products giving him
advice on them. Much appreciated. Lovely to receive such kind and helpful service. Will be back. Thank you.
