BUYERS BEWARE: NOT WORTH IT (Literally costs more than a ticket)
If you think this subscription will save you money, do the math first. It is actually MORE expensive to use MoviePass than to just buy a ticket directly from the theater.
Here is exactly what happened to me:
1. I bought the $13/month "Basic" plan which gives you 34 credits.
2. I found a standard movie listed for exactly 34 credits. Perfect, right?
3. WRONG. At checkout, they hit me with a surprise 7-credit "online service fee," raising the cost to 41 credits.
4. Since I couldn't afford the ticket I already paid for, I had to buy a $5 credit pack.
5. Total spend: $18 ($13 sub + $5 add-on). At this point, I am paying the same price (or higher) than a standard ticket at Regal, plus the hassle.
BUT IT GETS WORSE. After loading the extra money, the app gave me an error saying "Additional credits required" claiming the movie cost more than a standard 2D ticket (it didn't). They wanted me to load ANOTHER $5 pack.
There is zero point to this service. You will spend more time and significantly more money jumping through hoops than if you just walked up to the box office. Save your wallet and your sanity—stay away.
MoviePass rips you off
MoviePass makes it seem like you get multiple movies per month, but their credit system and extra fees make that impossible. All the movies in my area cost between 32-56 credits, plus a 7 credit “online fee”. Their Monthly Basic Plan costs $13 and gives you 34 credits - so not even enough credits for one movie. I canceled within minutes and didn’t use anything, but they still refused to give me a refund. Do not trust MoviePass.
Likely not worth the hassle for Customers..
You can watch a movie using MoviePass….is it worth it over one of the plans many movie theaters provide now days probably not.
One of the worst customer service companies I’ve ever dealt with in 30+ years. Worse than original Comcast which is infamously terrible.
I can on the other hand use their services to book a film for a few dollars less than face value at a theater…usually…as it does not always work and your “subscription” only has a certain amount of points to use monthly which has a cap and their films have “peak times” so the amount of points you see it cost may in fact not be the exact amount you’ll have to spend to see it. It may show 32 points but then add 2 points for popular times and add 5 more for convenience and you check out of the film using 37 of your 68 monthly allotment.
Highly questionable the operation, I’ll not continue it after this 3rd years subscription ( I was in with the original and the new one since it began) it’s been too many hassles to deal with versus just going or using a theater subscription which are usually priced to see 2 films for the month and any orhers become free.

App has so many bugs, customer service is horrible. Would not recommend. People should just do AMC or something like that
Rollover ripoff
I foolishly assumed my credits would rollover and accumulate over time. After all, I paid for them, 10 bucks per month. But they do not. After two months they "expire." That is, your money is stolen. They have it and you get nothing. I wanted to be supportive of the new owners, but seems they're no better than the old ones. Also, good luck getting in touch w them.

No one answers the chat or the customer service number. They literally disconnect you. I have not been able to use this since purchasing the subscription. It's clearly a fraudulent business as other users report the same issue and there is no customer service to address the issues. This "company" obviously is fake.

MoviePass is a scam. Don’t buy it. They first get you to pay the fee. When you make the reservation and go to the theater, the theater tells you that they won’t honor it.

Moviepass isn't worth the money paid
We were movie pass users the first go around. When they went bankrupt. We were stuck holding the bag so to speak.
Movie pass came back out with a $10 monthly plan with a card to use. So we opted to do it. We did for a year now. And what I saw was a complete waste of money. In order to use the card I had to go into moviepass. Select a movie at a showtime and location on there app. Select online and unlock the card. Now you ask why not use it in the theatre physically. Well. It did work at one time but many months ago it stopped working in theatre and I just stopped trying.
So. I have to do the above mentioned steps and then go to Fandango to buy the tickets. Each ticket purchased separately for my wife and I. This is a major pain. And more months we didn't use it then used it.
So. When you don't use it. It's a waste. When you look at options like Cinemark club where tickets roll over up to 12 times. She MJR Premium Club. I finally decided the $20 a month we support the CEO of Moviepass was a complete throwing away of $ 240 a year. NOT. We went to cancel and we're offered 34 credits. We took them. Paused our membership for two months to use them up with some we had and dumped movie pass.
My review is basically here to say. DONT. Moviepass hopes you forget and just don't notice $10 minimum a month going into there coffers. Go to your theatre and join there club. It's better. You get more. Like points and free stuff and your supporting the theatre directly. Bye bye movie pass. Your fired !!

Bamboozled into a 1yr membership with no refunds
I signed up for MoviePass thinking that I was going to get a good deal. Found out that it was extremely limited on what was available in my area. Maybe its different in others but for me it wouldn't work. Tried to go cancel my membership and to find out that there are no refunds, no returns, and all sales are final. So basically I just bought a year long membership with nothing in return, and their policies are final. Which when signing up they don't make you aware. Will be fighting with Credit Company on Fraudulent activities.

Wish there was an option to leave zero stars. Signed up for movie pass and cancelled it less than 5 minutes after getting it because I didn’t like the feature of not being able to get tickets as in advance as I needed. Seems like you have to get them virtually the day of, and when a new movie is coming out and on a weekend that isn’t realistic getting a seat. Anyways I emailed costumer service and waited over a month saying they had to look into this before they could issue a refund, when I had not even used the account or had it longer than a few minutes. Finally heard back that they could not provide a refund. Clearly they are strapped for $10 and need it more than I do. Save yourself and just get the unlimited subscriptions for Regal or AMC, they are actually worth it. Again, DO NOT GET MOVIE PASS I AM WARNING YOU!
Not worth it
I signed up when they were having a $1 first month special. Tried to use the virtual card and it was declined. Couldn’t get customer service to respond so I purchased my ticket out of pocket. Found out later that virtual doesn’t work for me. Got my card and went to theater again a couple weeks later. Card was declined. Spent an hour on chat with customer service and in the end the only solution was I could try again in a few hours to see if it worked or have them send me another card in 10-15 business days. So far in the first month I’ve had it I haven’t been able to use my MoviePass one single time and customer service had zero solutions to get me a ticket after sitting at the theater for an hour trying to get a ticket. MoviePass is a nice idea but too many technical issues and an almost total lack of customer service. Save yourself the aggravation, time and money and don’t sign up for MoviePass.

I signed up for MOVIEPASS, the Basic plan and the first time I try to use the VIRTUAL CARD option i CAN'T! Everytime I tried to use their Virtual Card I keep getting a notice saying "WE ARE UNABLE TO GET YOUR MOVIEPASS CARD INFORMATION". Why? It's the same card I used to sign up with and that activated my account. Now they tell me the Virtual Card was Not an option when I signed up. This needs to be investigated!
