Well, they say 24 hrs and inclusive of pub ok holidays, and here I am, calling the mobile off the website and it’s switched off. After all the reviews I’m glad I didn’t get through

If I could rate zero stars I would. A complete rip off and bunch of scumbags. Totally prey on vulnerable people in need of help. Should be shut down. Disgrace of a company

Completely dodgy - do not use them.
We had an emergency power outage due to a broken safety switch so called Mr Emergency rather than our regular electrician (on a Sunday). What a mistake.
Was given 3 quotes ranging from $2300 to $7700. ONE HOUR OF INVESTIGATION $1090! Total joke.
Sent them packing and waited for our regular electrician and paid a normal price.

I would never use them again. Got Mremergency to come and fix a leaking kitchen tap had to pay $1,100 for a new tap (the cheapest one) and it is of very light weight, looks almost identical to a $35 tap at Bunning. My old Mondo tap was heavy and felt sturdier in the sink. I only went through with it as I had to get it fixed as I could not get any other plumbers in time. It took most of the day to get it done.

I called Metropolitan Plumbing once - what a joke. They significantly overcharge by around 4 - 5 times the price of a genuine plumber.

These morons are the same people using a different company name. They are now spamming my mobile number.

One more text and I'm reporting them for harassment.

What an absolute joke this company is. My husband rang, he had to pay a $141 call out fee and was told that they would be out between 12pm and 3pm. After numerous phone calls and constantly being told they would be another 1 to 2hrs we finally asked them to cancel our appointment and to refund our money. Now they’re telling us that it will take 7 days to refund our money.

This lot have shocking reviews and I'm not surprised. The website says: "Our team at Mr Emergency is made up of certified plumbers, heating and cooling specialists, gas fitters and electricians available near you—our services will cover all of your emergencies".
We were having trouble with our gas fireplace (in Sydney). I wasn't asking for emergency service. I just wanted someone to come and do some maintenance. I rang them. After being on hold for a time, the disinterested person on the phone said "Ah, we only have one person and he's pretty busy so maybe go and find someone else." Just in case he thought I was wanting someone immediately, I said, "you mean, you can't send someone at any time?", to which he replied "ah yeah, that's right, sorry". In other words, go away.
That's just fine, but why the BS on the website, with all the stuff about 24/7 service? ? It's 15 minutes of my time I won't get back.
And here's something very strange: almost all the reviews here are 1 star except for a group of 5 star reviews between September and November 2024. All of them are reviewers who have only left one review – that one! Draw your own conclusion.
Further point – this is just one more of the business names of Metropolitan Plumbing and Electrical, who were exposed on A Current Affair last week. You can see it on the Channel 9 website.

Ridiculously expensive. Call out fee $140 and then $ 1200 for a 5 minute inspection of switchboard and diagnosis of minor fault. All up 15 minutes. If you can ,
find another option!

Shouldve seen these reviews before proceeding, guess I was desperate.

Absolute rip-off. They sent a electrician to quote a roof leak after I specifically asked for a roof plumber - charged $141 and he did not even look at the leak, don't use them.

I had an electrical fault after 9pm on a Sunday. These guys were the third I called, first 2 did not answer. Firstly they could not provide anyone that night. They charged $140 on the spot to book someone the next day. Then they told me the guy would be at mine between 7-11 on Monday, I took a day off work, he did not arrive until 3pm. They get U to sign Thier uote before they have even looked at what needed doing, $1180.. . Expensive but in my mind this could have been serious. The guy was done within an hour, didnt need to fix anything just made sure every thing was safe and turned the power back on... I'm a single mum who has zero knowledge on electrical faults... not even a doctor earns this much per hour, and to just check? Not to provide anything? DO NOT USE THEM . Absolutely Shameful. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE Someone With IN 3O MINUTES LIKE THEY CLAIM ON THIER WEBSITE and then to charge before even looking at the problem, very misleading and not honest business ethics... Disgraceful $1320 ALL U just to check and flick the safety switch back on!! What a joke!

They took advantage of an elderly lady with dementia. Charged $849 to cap a tap which shoukdve been around $150. She paid cash . The next day they sent her $1600 invoice

Total scammers. I wish we had read the reviews before contacting them. We rang Mr Emergency to service our split system aircon. We were asked to pay an upfront call out fee of $140 which we stupidly did. They sent someone from Metropolitan air conditioning, who walked in, took two photos of the unit and simply left saying we would get a quote for $1250. He didn't turn on the unit, ask any questions, look at any parts - just took 2 photos. When questioned he got very defensive and said we clients have no idea what the system needs.
Please stay away from these guys. We ended up going with a reputable plumber at a quarter of the price.

The biggest scam in Australia are these guys , the owner runs a bunch of the same services under different company names. Metropolitan Plumbing are these guys too, A water heater that costs $900 they tried to fleece us for $10,000

Mr Emergency prey on the elderly. We were charged $7,000 for a $1,200 job. Do not go near them. Bunch of a damn crooks

Paid $141 Call Out fee at 3am. 7 hours later technician arrived and quoted $1149 for one hours investigation work. He did not even get out of his van. This company is ripping people off in an emergency. Disgusting. DO NOT USE.

Waited all day for them to arrive for our “emergency”.
When they arrived late on a Saturday afternoon we had no choice but to accept their ridiculously expensive quote. Work was done well, but the cost was outrageous!

I contacted this company to look at a leaking roof. I was told that there was a $140 call-out fee and that fee would be deducted if I accepted the quote. When the guy eventually turned up, he refused to go on the roof to provide a quote and said he needed me to pay $1,800 before assessing the work. Absolutely disgraceful - don't touch them with a bargepole!!!
