It is just plain boring. You can't list anything fun on there like your art, music, or writing or they get bent out of shape and treat it like SPAM. I guess maybe I missed it in the TOS, but they jumped all over me for putting a link to my short stories and said I had agreed not to do that when I signed up.. How can you learn anything about people and find the correct ones to socialize with if you are so restricted? I got bombarded with emails about it excoriating me after being there maybe 10 years and not doing anything against the TOS and I guess I forgot that clause. But now it makes sense why there isn't much to do or talk about on there. Trying to delete my account, but finding no place to do that.

What a nightmare. All I was doing was looking for an online social group in my age range. Good gawd. I get there and its basically profiles of older guys and online sex workers. I have nothing against sex workers. But this was not a good fit for an older woman just looking for a social outlet. And trying to delete your profile and close your account is almost impossible. They make it hard on purpose. Unless you're an old guy with a healthy libido and money to burn, you might want to think twice about My Boomer Place.

THIS place is a joke...i mean like you forget your password and in 4 years my email id has changed can't send old one nothing comming to me there.. try logging in no go.. then sign up as new account.. still anything you say comes back as FAIL... i don't even want to be there.. seems like phony site to me..i read the other reviews and now i get it!!! must be miserable to be so fake!!!!!!!

It used to be good years back, now days they got too many admins and greeters who actually spy on you or /and what you send as comments or message other members!! Also they have snitch members who follow people around, gang up on them and eventually delete whomever they don't like!! Also most members don't show their real face and have no real names, it's like a fantasy land with bunch of residing ghosts rather than angels!! LOL...I was a member for 10 years and finally out and aboutm away from all the drama, jealousy and negativity this site will bring into your daily life. Save yourself time and join a real social site instead.

It is not a good place to socialize and it is not a place to have a great time .... If you try to be honest they will delete your profile. Find something better.

A broken, run down, malicious site. You cannot call myboomerplace a social network as you are told by the staff and admin they do not allow being social. They do not want an honest opinion, thought or idea, as they are self proclaimed god's in their own minds. They lie, blame anyone and everyone but themselves for everything. I now believe the admin is no longer there. It seems that staff you speak of is running, or should I say, running down the site with admin not to be found. Everyone knew what she was, what she is. The great site myboomerplace was is gone and the scared members that are left are quite, hiding, and watching. They know it is going down but they will ride it out as long as they can either hold their tongue or finally find a home so they can put this sad place behind them. Join myboomerplace at your own risk.

& the "Greeter" folks are mostly cool
the best one died :-(
& the most active one is an overly zealous "Mother Hen"
"Natures Ally" as a previous post points out is on the Hypocrite side
Monitors your correspondence ridiculously
breathing down your neck if you go outside her ideology, parameters she's set & the sites become the Haves & Have Nots
Features once open to everyone, now only operate for "The Haves"
ie; the activity section that once informed others you maybe changed you status or posted a Blog or something, now only a select few, does it show did something
The Sites become much "a Clique" :-(
Then favorite features I liked discontinued or hidden out of site,
eg: The once front page "Breaking News" & the Polls you could post that was fun, hardly if ever allowed anymore. (That was a fun feature)
Like someone else here said, it's been reduced to page design contest & though I think it's a fine activity, some of us just weren't into that feature
THe #1 thing that got me (after i'd been there over 10yrs) w/ no problem whatsoever
They announced NO MORE CHRISTIAN(Religious) Blogs
I made my nicely put grievance on the matter
& POOF ~ MY ACCOUNT BLOCKED By NaturesAlly after I spent years on good faith building friendship & relationships there :-(
No "redress of grievance" option anywhere unless you count here.
You can't sue, because of clauses in the "agreement"
I Hope they go by the wayside, it looks like it is.
No Fun anyways w/ the Mother Hen Greeter ruining it, for so many

I also note it's comment section is Mass Send inundated
so (IF) someone's sends something intended "Just for you" personalized, you really have no way of knowing, & beings flooded w/ Mass sends, it becomes to much like work, going through them, trying to be polite to folks who care lil' about you :-(

You could set your setting to not receive mass send/spam like comments
i'd rather see a separate column for the Mass Sends
or eliminate it all together
sites that require you post each comment individually are better
because it's more special

MyBoomerPlace started feeling like living under a "Big Brother" situation, way to much
& it's moratorium on Religious Blogs, most disturbing
I'm sure Satan was happy about that
but no one else but his puppet/servants
The site "WAS" Christian strong
but that's being suppressed :-(

I love the site , so much to offer and some great people they communicate with you and help ,. Love the status feed and the design contest.

Well, where should I begin! If you PM anyone...it's monitored! They read them and they also dictate what you should write in a blog! They delete the honest people there and keep the generic ones because they are afraid to stand up for themselves! All they do is send generic comments and design their page for all those contests they have for designing! Either you do that and vote or you don't fit in! Is this a social site! I think not...it's more of a cult setting with John being God...at least he thinks he is! He soon will be shoveling coal and so will some of his greeters! The cancer is in them! He hates a site called NOTH! If you mention it...you will be deleted! How pathetic is that? Stay clear or you will be the next victim! Don't get me wrong...there are some good people there and that I called friends! I certainly will miss them! But I'm never going back! Life's too short! Many people have multiple pages so you lose track on who the real person is! After having my last blog deleted for no reason except that he could...I told him to delete my account! I've had enough of wasting my time there! An honest review from a person that's been there for a few years! P.S. I bet John would love to delete this post, but alas...he is not in charge of the real world!

I enjoyed the site till recently when I was letting some of my friends know that I was leaving myboomerplace in a message, due to need of cutting back of time online & referring them to another site to join me if they wanted to request my work, not that I was trying to take them away from their site (myboomerplace), was just wanting them to know why I was leaving in case they wondered what happened to me & while in the process, my profile was deleted, & once it's deleted, so is all of your messages, etc., so the ones you were trying to let know, will be unaware, so be careful what you share, as you never know if it's being read by them or if they have someone working for them undercover supposedly being on your friends list, just so they can turn on you & be a snitch, so they must feel threatened to take such action...., I have since contacted them several times about this with no reply, so I believe it's childish on there part, as they can't even face it & deal with it in a grown up manner. Also what a way to treat your members, don't they think that friends talk, for which I have shared what happened with alot of my friends that are on that site & are already on the other site that I was referring some of my other friends too, so I wouldn't be a bit surprized if they leave there cuz of it, as noone should be treated that way even if they were referring their friends to other hosts, it's a free country & if that's how they are going to be, then I have no interest in ever returning, so I say good riddens....& God help them, so there you have it. My other friends that are already on my referred site, have shared that they will spread the word....& I wouldn't of posted this if they would've just gotten back with me in the first place, so there loss... & what a loss it's going to be, especially if alot of my friends leave there & if they tell there friends & so on....as word spreads like wild fire...just like any other social networking site out there....Thanks for taking the time to read this & hope this doesn't happen to you & if so, just know you've been warned, thanks again....
