We have been to lots of lego wvents with our 10 year old who loves lego and i am sorry to say this was the poorest. I felt as though we paid to see lots of stall of people selling lego at inflated prices as opposed to lots of displays that we usually see. Very disappointing.

I recently found myself in need of a wheelchair. I’m still getting used to it and, long story short, I’d rather stay in the car than inconvenience people.

However, I cannot overstate how welcoming and accommodating the staff and vendors at Newcastle’s National Brick Event were. The stalls were well spaced out with plenty of room to get around and I didn’t once feel like I was in the way or causing people bother.

If all companies planned and executed events like this, I would be more amicable to the idea of attending and it would curb my anxiety massively.

There were so many different vendors and plenty for my four year old to get stuck into. I was worried we’d be in and out in half an hour but, before we knew it’d we’d been there almost 2 hours!

There were nowhere near the number of exhibits there was at the last event we attended. We basically paid for the privilege if having a load of stalls trying to sell us stuff. Not worth the entrance fee

Plenty to see, lots of Lego to buy and friendly, warm and welcoming Lego traders. my son and I had a great time !

Went to the Newcastle one in June 26

Pros: More to do for kids this year compared to previous years. The free play tables were really popular.

Some AMAZING displays and really nice chatty exhibitors.

Cons: essentially paid £25+ to access a marketplace where the vast majority of sets are way outside of the affordability of kids savings. The ‘event’ was getting access to buy stuff. Far more busy at the free play tables.

Noticed a few prices change through the day (going up) when some stalls had seen what other people were charging.

Some exhibitors charging a £35 premium for AI slop images in an £5 ikea frame.

It was our first time there and honestly, we expected a bit more of a buzz. Tables with inflated prices for little things like figures for £10 each. It’s Lego. Let’s not let this turn in to Pokemon, guys…
I was told there were characters for kids to meet but there were none in the 2 hours we were there. My son enjoyed the race table most and the large build pieces were good.
We likely won’t reattend future events as my son was a bit underwhelmed.

My grandson loves Lego and was so impressed with everything that was there. Bought a couple of examples as well

I cannot believe I was charged £10:50 each, so group total £42 to enter a poor car boot sale only selling lego.
Not worth the money stay at home.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this event was a very disappointing experience.

The event was advertised as featuring 70+ tables, dressed-up characters and a range of activities. However, the event we attended in Ware felt significantly smaller than expected. We were able to walk around the entire venue in just a few minutes, there appeared to be far fewer vendors than we had anticipated from the advertising, and some of the advertised attractions were not present during our visit.

My group spent £36 on tickets and, despite being keen LEGO fans, we left having purchased only a single polybag. We also found many items to be priced much higher than expected.

What disappointed me most, however, was the response when I contacted the organisers afterwards. I raised my concerns politely and asked whether a refund could be considered. Rather than addressing the specific points I raised about the event itself, the responses focused on the company's no-refunds policy. When I asked further questions about the differences between the advertising and our experience, the conversation was simply closed with a one-line response stating that their position remained unchanged.

I appreciate that not every event will suit every visitor, but I would have expected a more constructive response to genuine customer feedback. Based on my experience, I would not attend another event organised by this company and hopefully I don't have to deal with Kate again.

Terrible events - both for visitors and displayers. NBE are mainly an overpriced reseller who run the events to make more money and have a captive (the venues are small and packed) audience for the severely overpriced lego sets. Most tabels are sellers with very few lego displays.

They are also badly organised, barely any staff and don't treat any lego fan displaying well (i guess one of the reasons they have so few) their one displays are always the same so once you seen one you have seen them all for several years...
Also not accessible or disability friendly

There are other, much better lego shows out there

Went to event at Bracknell sports centre. Overpriced to a ridiculous amount. Paying to get into the event is an absolute rip off as event is 95% retail sellers and lots of the lego on sale is over priced and for double what you can pay online. The organiser has to be accountable for the ridiculous sellers and their asking prices.

Be warned - 95% of this event is retail stands, and just about everything they are selling is overpriced. I price-checked a few things for reference - an older Star Wars set at £1500 which you can easily get online for £750. A new Ninjago set at £80 that we had bought from Argos recently for £50. Everything was labelled "brand new" regardless of the age or the condition of the box.
Very little in the way of family activities, and the custom builds on show were very underwhelming. I've seen far better at free events.
I felt terrible taking my 10-year-old and spending an hour walking around saying No to just about everything he asked for.

We went along to the event at ravenscraig and although my son bought a few Lego sets and enjoyed finding some Minecraft ones he didn't have already I feel the advertising was very misleading it was advertised as a day out for families with Lego displays and activities, and alot more. There was a very small play area crammed full of toddlers, a few tables with Legos to play with but they were all very crowded. There wasn't many Lego displays we didn't feel, compared to a local smaller event in our area that had alot more on display in recent years it was quite disappointing, it was 90% people selling sets which yes I knew there would be but I thought it would have had more displays and things to do/look at, my son still had a great 30 minutes walking round and bought some sets but ultimately we could go to the Lego store and do that, I think the adverting needs edited or there needs to be more to see and do alongside the sellers.

Like many of the other reviews here, this was a very disappointing event.

The marketing was clearly misleading. It was advertised as a fun, interactive day out for families, with activities, play areas, and LEGO displays. In reality, it was almost entirely sellers (around 95%), with barely anything for children to actually do.

We attended the Brighton event with our two young boys and it was a complete let-down. The only activity area (a small animation setup) was overcrowded to the point of being unusable, so the children left having done essentially nothing.

This felt far more like a marketplace than a family event, and it did not deliver what was advertised.

I have contacted National Bricks directly and expect a response regarding a refund. At present, this was a poor experience and not value for money.

Inverness event was well organised but the positives end there.

Not inpressed with the Guildford venue. From the time of entering the carpark to leaving was 1hr 10 mins. This included faffing trying to find a carparking space then waiting to get into the hall. So i would say from walking in to leaving was approximatley 40 minutes. Not enough Lego displays, only a number of vendors selling kits that were way over the market value. There was some interesting fighter jet kits made by a young chap.
Interesting over hearing one of the vendors state that they only had some of their stock at Guildford and the rest was in Aberdeen at the other venue. Sorry but that says everything.
NBE should stop trying to saturate the market with these events. A waste of money!!!!

Only a few lego displays, the rest are private people selling their lego sets. Waist of money.

Quite disappointed really. There were 2 decent stalls selling some moc kits and an exhibition of an amazing f15 fighter with multiple electronic controls. This made up 10% of the stalls. The other 90% was made up of stalls with overpriced models you can get for half the price in Smiths toys. Example f1 racers £23 Smiths were £35. C-3PO £120 Smiths for £190. Also retired models you can find cheaper on ebay.
It's like they went and brought a load of models from a store to sell to ticket paying customers for much more.
Just about managed to park as I had early bird tickets. Wouldn't have like to be parking at the normal time.

I'd say the Aberdeen was at least 3/4 vendors selling stuff - a few makers with their built sets but very very little MOCs or even modified sets, heck even the B models were lacking!
I didn't look to closely at all the prices but from looking at that big auction site by the bay - they were higher

We booked to attend the NBE Ware 'event' thinking that for the price paid and advertising as a special lego event there would be something good / interactive on offer to engage our grandkid's interest for a couple of hours at least on a Saturday afternoon but, personally I couldn't have been more underwhelmed after walking through the door of the sports hall at Ware's Wodson Park today (9Aug). Clearly this supposed 'event' was merely nothing more than a market place for traders to display and sell (some very expensive) lego kits; with plenty of look but don't touch signs and, disappointingly just one small table for kids to have a play with some unimpressive lego bits and bobs. The obscene part of all this in my view is that we had to buy an £8.50 ticket per person to get into the 'event'. As soon as we got in to the hall I realised that we'd been suckered and within five minutes of seeing what little was on offer I walked straight back out again and waited in the centre's cafe, followed by the grandkids half an hour later (I'm amazed that they were even engaged for that long). I spent £6 in the sport centre's cafe for a coffee and a decent freshly prepared sandwich, as least I got some value for my money during my visit! I'm just glad that we didn't go for the 'event' early bird tickets!
