It’s a site created to promote the Sony brand. PlayStation users are treated differently by the forum administrators and are almost never banned, even when they 'violently' target other users or those who use non-Sony products. It’s been this way for years and has never changed. A terrible site.

NeoGaf even all these years later is still a terrible site, even after trying to recover from being run by a pedophile. The remaining dwindling userbase consists of unhinged immature fanboys who are aged 30+. As per usual, they still hate anything Nintendo and will ban you if you merely point out the fact that Zelda Tears of the Kingdom sold more copies than Baldur's Gate 3 or any of their other favourite games of 2023.

The moderators are still the same old creeps who are weirdly obsessed with transgender pornography and will ban any discussion that goes against their worldviews.

The place is as toxic still as its successor, ResetEra but the difference is, NeoGaf is declining into nothing but obscurity nowadays much like GameFaqs. The discussions that exist on the forum have the same level of quality as a discussion on the Steam Forums, which is to say, the quality of teenagers screeching at each other and making lame jokes.

Good stuff... My favourite hardcore gaming & PC hardware forum. Superior to all stuff like IGN or Facebook groups...

...not really. NeoGAF is like any other gaming community on the internet; full of conflicting opinions, fan boys, and flame wars.

But it's also so much more. The sheer number of active users on GAF is staggering, which means that there are reams of new content and discussion appearing on a minute by minute basis. While this can initially be overwhelming, as less popular threads sink from view very quickly, there are useful search tools built in to the forums (though these aren't accessible for guests - you must be logged in).

NeoGAF is probably the most influential gaming community out there, with devs and publishers regularly appearing to respond to criticism, or to announce new games or content. While the attitude of some users can be a little heated at times, the strict moderation rules mean that any user who steps too far out of line is gone pretty quickly. It can seem draconian at times, but this serious approach to moderation means that the valuable discussions can continue free of too many trolls.

The one negative side of GAF is the arduous wait for approval before being allowed to reply to threads (you'll need to wait an equally nebulous amount of time before becoming a full member with posting privileges). This all could be communicated more openly, so that users aren't left for months (really) with no idea of whether or not they will be approved.

Aside from that, if you are looking for the latest gaming news, or discussion on anything from the Atari, to the PS4, GAF's the place to be.

Anyone who's anyone in the industry knows Noegaf, and certainly has an account there, it's the virtual studio 54 of gaming. Conversation is generally more intelligent then the rest of the web and you will really find detailed thoughtful discussions on games / business / sales and Pedo bear .... Don't ask
