From initial contact, to a site visit and then finishing with the install we were thoroughly impressed. Installation team were brilliant, explaining everything we needed, and ensuring that we were left with a driveway to be proud of!

Fantastic service and first class install for my drive. So good I’ve just had them back to complete my patio in my back garden.

The finished driveway looks fantastic, but getting there was an exhausting and frustrating experience.

R (Bournemouth franchise) initially surveyed the project and I clearly explained what I wanted: removal of the hedge, widening the driveway entrance, removing the flower bed to increase parking space, and eliminating ongoing weed issues. Oltco wasn’t the cheapest quote, but I chose them because I believed the attention to detail would justify the premium.

Prior to the project starting, the head of the Bournemouth franchise informed me he would be taking over the project from the original site inspector.

Day one was chaotic. Contractors arrived with no manager on site. One spoke no English and the other very little, so I had to repeatedly explain the scope of the work myself. That same afternoon, they either caused or exposed damage to the water main. Despite water pouring out, they continued digging with the JCB.

Unfortunately, the lack of supervision continued throughout. The contractors constantly interrupted my working day with questions because they hadn’t been properly briefed. I work from home, otherwise, this would have been impossible to manage.

I also had to repeatedly explain that the hedge was to be fully removed, as only half had initially been dug out. When the head of the Bournemouth franchise visited, he appeared unfamiliar with the agreed scope and even suggested creating a new flower bed, seemingly to reduce resin costs, despite this being the exact opposite of what I had requested. He admitted he should have carried out his own site survey when taking over the project, but later made it worse by saying he was too busy to bother...

When the groundworks were supposedly complete, I withheld the next payment instalment until multiple issues were addressed: poorly finished cement edging, rubbish left behind, a white stain on my wall, and jagged wooden posts left exposed.

Some issues were never properly resolved. Fence panels were installed inside my boundary rather than on it, and a rose tree was unnecessarily removed because the contractors didn’t understand where the property line was.

For a project costing over £20,000, this was nowhere near the level of professionalism, organisation, or communication I expected.

From start to finish they have been superb. Kristian gave us the quote in a polite, friendly and efficient manner. The installation took two full days and the four installers were superb - friendly, polite, courteous and they just got on with the job with no idle chatter, which seems to be the norm these days!! If I could give them ten stars I would. I can’t fault the office staff either. The 20 year guarantee is a great incentive but everything looks so good hopefully I won’t need to use it. Well done to all at Oltco Service such as yours is very rare now.

I recently had my garden transformed with Oltco and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results. I had no back gate, so materials had to be carried through house. With this in mind, the carpet was protected and I was impressed with the care taken to keep it tidy. The resin is a beautiful finish. I would highly recommend Oltco. What a transformation 👏 Thank you to Scott and his team.

Well they did ask for a review... Generally an all round traumatic and incredibly expensive experience, far too many issues to list all starting with the inexperienced sales proposal that increased day 1 into the job. Ultimately you are not dealing with Oltco. You're dealing with a franchise who subsequently sub-contract the work to local trades. The drive resembles the surface of the moon (with installer footprints). I'd suggest researching and instructing a locally experienced company. Despite complaints direct to Oltco they just point you to their guarantee and advise the finish is within their tolerances, which sadly doesn't cover the overall finish / quality of the drive just the structural integrity.

UPDATE: Appreciate the Marketing response from Oltco to attempt to put them in the best light but this is just factually inaccurate. Anyone reading this I suggest just take note of the volume of 1 star reviews... we can't all be wrong.

The Oltco Devon team of Scott, Cam, Declan and Harvey recently completed widening and re-laying our drive. It included a lot of preparatory groundwork before the resin layer was added, that was done efficiently and tidily and care was taken to minimise disruption to us and our neighbours. From our first meeting with Scott to the completion of the work we were very impressed by the team whose attention to detail deserves special mention. The new drive has completely transformed the front of our house, enabled us to park our cars side by side and made access to the front door much easier. The team worked very hard and finished exactly on schedule. They were a pleasure to deal with and we would recommend anyone who is planning to have their drive re-laid to contact Oltco. Several of our neighbours said how impressed they were by the team’s hard work and on the quality of our new drive. Some asked for Oltco’s contact details at the time.

From the initial contact with Oltco, Jon has always been polite, courteous and knowledgeable. His experience ensured that the drive renewal went without any problems. The completed drive displays his teams competence perfectly. Highly recommend this company.

We had our court yard and driveway done by Oltco a couple of weeks ago and we can’t recommend them highly enough. They turned up when they said they would did a fantastic job, cleared away any mess and it looks amazing. The two guys doing the job worked very hard they were extremely polite and professional. Yes there was the odd issue that arose along the way but both Rob and Warren moved quickly and efficiently to resolve said issues.

Our project was a bit different as it is a ceramic tiled balcony however the information we got was positive and queries were answered straight away. The office team of Carys and Steve were very helpful throughout the initial process. The install team of Wayne and Arnie were fantastic, at all times friendly but professional. The end result was amazing and we are very happy and would highly recommend this company.

We have had our patio and driveway laid to resin with a year gap between the two, this was to determine how good it’s usability and how effective it’s draining qualities were. Both were excellent hence why we decided to go for the driveway as well.
