PennyMac Loan Services
PennyMac Loan Services, LLC is a FAKE company whose name is used by various investment banks, hedge funds and fintech Servicers to defraud homeowners. After PennyMac Financial, Inc allegedly "sold" its Mortgage Servicing Rights to hedge fund Annaly Capital Management, I keep getting false and misleading "billing statements" from fintech Servicer Venture Solutions, Inc which do not reflect amounts I paid and false "quotes" from fintech Servicer Nordis, LLC - who impersonate as "PennyMac Loan Services, LLC". When I speak with call centers employees - they have no clue about any amounts - because they read all information from master fintech Servicer Fidelity National Financial, Inc MSP platform
Loyal PennyMac customers since 2014
We have used PennyMac exclusively since 2014 through three purchases and one refinance. While there were always moments of frustration, they were few and far between, and the loan officers and team leaders never treated my wife and I like just a (loan) number. So whatever 2-3 star ratings or less are out there, sorry - but we haven’t used them for 11 years because they didn’t care or weren’t professional. This go around (purchase of our - hopefully - “Forever” home), Nick B. and Grace S. were simply incredible. We started the initial loan process on March 5th, and by yesterday (April 3rd) our loan was FULLY FUNDED! Our advice to the naysayers out there: research EVERY possible document you may need to provide and the ones you already have or can access lined up and ready to go as best you can. Create PDFs, files, lists of phone contacts for employment and financials, etc. The more you already know and prepare for, the less you will feel like PennyMac is the problem along the way!

It was a very nice start, then I was having to provide information to multiple people multiple times. They were asking for the same information that was already provided. Felt like they have made it impossible to get a loan from them.
During government shutdown
During government shutdown, they offered a payment plan which was wonderful at first. However, simultaneously they did credit reporting which affects the credit scores. This is never discussed during the planning by the agents; however, seems to be written in their policy. No one reads it! They don’t have a good customer support and are not willing to really help.

STAY AWAY HORRIBLE LENDERS
Penny Mac was an awful mortgage lender from the start! The agent they set me up with was not timely with responses at all it would take days for him to respond to me! I eventually got in touch with his manager who then told me my agent was approving me for homes $50,000 out of my actual approval range AND he wasn’t even licensed in the state that I was sending him house for! The manager had nothing to even say about how awful that is to do to someone! What if I got an offer accepted on a home in the price that he was writing me preapprovals for and then it came down to closing and they said these numbers don’t work for you after all?! absolutely insane! I would NEVER recommend them to anybody!

Worst mortgage lender ever
Worst mortgage lender ever. Customer service agents are hard to understand with very thick accents. The system automatically moves money from suspense accounts to principal reductions even though the agents are applying the money to the suspense account. No process for customer to setup anything but a monthly auto-pay...no bi-monthly or weekly payments. No process for customer to setup custom auto-pay payments...paying extra towards escrow or principal. After 4 months, I'm still working with agents and supervisors to fix bi-monthly auto-payments.

Awful
Awful. It’s nearly impossible to get a real person on the line. It took me 10 minutes to speak with a real representative. The AI agents they’re using is garbage. Then when I finally did get a real agent. I could barely understand them. I don’t recommend this company.

I’d give a negative star if I could
I’d give a negative star if I could. Pennymac is the worse company to ever deal with. My wife’s parents passed away in June. Since then she’s been paying the mortgage by phone due to we don’t have a loan number in order to get a payoff and sell the house. They keep giving her the runaround. DO NOT GIVE PENNYMAC ANY BUSINESS!!!!!!!

They can't get their customer portal to work
My loan got purchased by PennyMac. As I am trying to do my 2025 tax return I need to get information for my accountant. I am only able to log into the portal about 10% of the time(it tries to create a new account for me when I already have one). When I do log in, none of my documents are available. I then call into customer support and finally get to someone who can only help me try to get logged in by resetting my password every time but can't tell me why my documents are not showing up and telling me that they can't email them to me. Awful experience all around. Avid them if you can

My experience with Penny Mac was so good I am still kind of surprised
My experience with Penny Mac was exceptional. From start to finish it was the smoothest part of my first home buying experience which was very unexpected. I actually felt heard and advocated for and had very open communication at all times. Ayman Botros brought me in and Grace Sparks took me across the finish line to my forever home. I had difficulty with my poor choice in realtor, but everything I wanted to know, Grace backed me up. What was important to PM for the VA requirements was also important me to ensure a sound and safe home. Grace kept me well informed as to what was expected, required, and always answered my many questions with patience and professionalism. She made follow up phone calls to check status and keep me on track to success. While too often I got her documents last minute she ensured they were addressed quickly and properly. The website was a very convenient and easy to use tool to assist in communication, signing, and uploading documentation with ease. I so grateful to the entire team that facilitated me during this crazy adventure.

I have not received my 2025 mortgage…
I have not received my 2025 mortgage interest statement. I attempted to get onto their website and register but since I originally used my Gmail username which had a@ character in it it wouldn't accept. I tried to simplify without the @ character to simple alphanumerics but every time it would repeat the same Gmail username.
I attempted to call the company but there's an automated loop with they send you to their automated response which basically tells you to go on the website it does not allow you to speak to a representative. I spent about 20 to 30 minutes doing this before giving up.
My experience with them in the past is also been very poor–give me a government agency anytime over a lot of these private Enterprises where no one seems to give a crap about customer service–the service economy without any service

Not trust worthy
My loans got sold to PennyMac. I attempted 3 times to set up auto pay and it didn’t go through. They charged me for a late fee and said nothing wrong on their end. I think it is a trap that they made it so difficult to set up automatic payments to get you with the late fee. They did not earn my trust. I’ll try to refinance to another company when it’s time

Poor Communication: Inaccessible customer service,, lack of response to inquiries, and unreturned management calls. Dismissive, won't help my boyfriend with his late payments due to his primary care Dr not releasing him to return to work for a mo th after his afib ,heart attack in which he had to have 3 stints put in. Putting him behind on his mortgage payments. Now , after making his current due payments, placing the late fees and payments on the end, he finds out they sold his loan back to VRM and placed it in forclosure. He retained a lawyer Tim Bible. But this company is BS . They assured him him va loan would not default. They lie. Obviously obtaining a mortgage is never fun, but I appreciated the helpful agents at PennyMac and their consistent follow up. I had no issues at closing and their app makes monthly payments easy.

The communication and chain of people…
The communication and chain of people you have to work with to fund out anything has to be the worse experiences ive ever had. Zero communication. How they operate as a functional company boggles my mind. They have 3 people doing the job of one person. And if they dont communicate with each other the chain fails becuase of one weak link providing an awful experience.
