I bought 2 trees from this seller. They have now grown for 3 years. 1 was a Denniston Superb plum which this year has born fruit but definitely not what I ordered as they are purple in colour. I hav... Voir plus

A highly recommend company!
I have bought plants and items from Pomona Fruits over a number years and have always found things to be of good quality and their service very efficient. I had problems with a recent delivery (not due to Pomona Fruits) and was impressed with their prompt contact and helpful intervention which resolved my issues - I would unhesitatingly recommend this company

Excellent customer service received my replacement today that I had actually forgot about , true to they're word thank you

Thank you,
I will definitely buy more trees from you!
Substandard cordon apple trees - but some recompense later
Pomona Fruits tempt the customer with their glossy brochure and enticing website, but the actual quality of the goods can fail to match up to expectations. I ordered three cordon apple trees at a total cost of some £82 and was most disappointed with the trees received, which were supposed to measure around 1.2 meters. One measured 97 cm, one 95 cm and one 85 cm - very thin and spindly and more akin to a twig than a tree. None of the cordons bore laterals and I fear that I shall have a long wait for any fruit to be borne. I have ordered cordon apples in the past from another supplier so I know what an acceptable tree should look like and these Pomona trees certainly did not measure up.
I emailed Pomona to detail my dissatisfaction with the goods received and was informed by phone that the inferior quality of the trees was due to the drought. I suggested that they might like to provide me with a tree in recompense and this was agreed to. This conversation took place three weeks ago since when I have heard nothing from Pomona so I must assume that they have withdrawn the offer without informing me. This is no way to treat a customer and I would certainly not recommend this company.
Addendum: Since submitting this review I have been contacted by Pomona's knowledgeable horticulturalist, Ming Yang, who expedited the despatch of a replacement apple tree. As far as customer service is concerned I would therefore raise the rating I would give the company from one to three stars.
Wonderful customer service and after sales care
I purchased both bare fruit raspberry canes and bare root almond and apricot trees back in Autumn 2021 after moving to a new house and trying to establish a small orchard and soft fruit patch.
The majority of the items grew very well once planted out however a couple of the raspberry canes and one of the trees really struggled to get going and subsequently died. I contacted Pomona fruit who were fantastic and promised to send replacement items for those that died this autumn when dormant and ready for lifting. I have just received my replacement items and am incredibly impressed by the great service from this company. They could not have done more!
Pomona Fruits
Pomona Fruits. I've bought from this company on a few occasions. Products to turn my garden into a small Orchard. Bare root Fruit trees and bushes are generally of a decent size and quality upon arrival with secure inserts to ensure the plants aren't damaged too much in transit. Only one Plum tree failed to survive its dormant winter planting in 2021. So I contacted Pomona customer services who were polite and asked for a few photos of bark scrapings to ensure the tree was dead. Very soon after they'd received the brown stem photos they offered to replace the plum tree when they next lift them for 'Bare Root' posting. This would have been quite a few months away. But I accepted and in early November 2022, just as promised, the new tree arrived and of a decent size. I did a small bark scraping which proved to me that it was healthy. So good that they had actually remembered to send it without me having to remind them. When I find more garden space? I'll give Pomona another perusal. As they often seem to have fresh new products and variants which tempt me into increasing my fruit collection. Especially, now that I've tested and appreciated their genuine customer services.
What a fantastic company
What a fantastic company. Every type of fruit you could possibly want to grow, with great customer service.
super service
Ordered 2 Kiwis, came quicker than expected, very quick to respond to my queries and most importantly the plants are in beautiful condition, so so pleased
Flourishing fruit trees! A lovely company.
I bought for the first time from Pomona in 2020. While the Pomegranate Provence may never bear fruit in my garden in Fife, it is rudely healthy and brings oodles of pleasure while the blueberries 'Aurora' and 'Brigitta' have been heavy with fruit. I recently bought Pear Beth and a Mirabelle plum. The pear tree is flourishing. Sadly the Mirabelle is less happy but the after-sales service has been excellent and so I am sneaking off to see if I can fit in a cherry or possibly a greengage... A really lovely company who respond quickly to any questions or concerns.
Healthy Standard Fig Tree.
We received a brown turkey fig tree grown as a standard from Pomona last week.
The tree was boxed in an upright position no chance of damage unless the carrier was particularly rough in handling, the tree was four foot plus tall in a 4.5 L pot, had a healthy 'mop' of foliage and we are so pleased with it, we received a booklet with lots of useful growing and caring information and now we will await our fruit! Thanks Pomona fruits.
First class
I ordered a grape vine which arrived well within the quoted dispatch time and in perfect condition. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase.
Great customer service!
I bought some strawberries, planted them and some grew and some didn’t. I emailed Pomona Fruits and sent photos, explaining what had happened. They sent me a lot of really valuable advice and also some strawberries to replace the ones that hadn’t thrived. So I am very happy. I also bought rhubarb crowns which look like they’re not growing, but it turns out they might be… again Pomona have been great with advice and have said that I’d they don’t grow they will replace these too. I couldn’t have asked for any more. Claire has been especially helpful, a big thank you to her.
So far an exemplary response
I am 75 years old and It has been a lifelong lesson the quality of support you get when you are buying goods it is usually an indication of the attention you get on after sales service.
Pomona has proved this to be the case when three out of 11 trees died back. In an exemplary response Pomona examined the photos I send and confirmed the case but more importantly offered replacement without me even having a chance to ask for it. Well done POMONA.
I searched for quality “cordon” form fruit trees for my urban garden makeover. Pomona appeared as the only supplier that would provide all the information I needed to buy the trees for the first phase of my garden revamp. I was very impressed that the information provided was complete and in great detail about root stock and tree characteristics and origins. But as things don’t always go to plan when dealing with “live” items Pomona delivered and even offered to by-pass the system and send replacements at an earlier date. Great show
Well no guessing where my and my sons orders are going to. Theo
The ordering and dispatch was…
The ordering and dispatch was straightforward and quality of plants excellent. Two that did not thrive were replaced without fuss. Contact with the people by phone and email was a pleasure!
Fabulous!
Great communication, an amazing selection of unusual fruits (think kiwi berries!) and everything I have ordered has arrived in the Outer Hebrides in perfect condition. Good strong plants that have settled into the garden beautifully. I will be buying from Pomona Fruits again!
Bought a bare root cherry tree and a peach tree from Pamona..
Bought a bare root cherry tree from Pamona.
Compared to others, delivery was slow, in the region of 10-12 days. Which is still something you can grin and bear.
However, on opening the package, it seemed very tiny and dead. Even Pamona knew it was weak, as they sent it attached to a stake, to keep it upright Besides, the roots were very small.
Overall was unimpressed and felt let down for something that cost me nearly 30 quid ( 24 + 8 quid postage). Thankfully, it did sprout green shoots and leaves after 2 weeks, so wasn't dead after all
Also bought a Peachtree for 35 quid and it was a monster, a huge 5-foot tree, with a thick root ball.
So overall my experience with Pamona has been neutral..they could try and do a little better, for the price they charge and the competition out there
Thanks for the free stake though
Regards
Mel
Customer service
One of the two patio trees I bought from Pomona fruits in February failed to grow.I emailed Pomona about the problem and attached a photo. The response was immediate.Ireceived an apology and the offer of a replacement.Having had shabby treatment from unscrupulous nurseries in the past I was stunned to receive such superb service.I would advise anyone about to buy from a fruit nursery to seriously think Pomona! R.Wain.
Misadvertised product and poor customer service
Selling product that's been misadvertised. Purchased a fruit tree described as being "supplied with a bushy head", but instead I received what looked like a doormant twig without any leaves whatsoever. Extremely disappointing! I'm sure misadvertising is against the law. On top of that no apology. Just asked to wait till it does grow leaves! I've received multiple fruit trees with bushy heads from other sellers that cost half the price! Won't be buying from Pomona again!
UPDATE: Pomona's response goes into essay mode with unnecessary fluff and addresses everything but the main concern: literally misadvertised tree as "being supplied with a bushy head". It was not by any standards even close to a bushy head. In fact in doing so they make a glaring error. A bushy head in English is one with lots of leaves yet Pomona thinks a bushy head has no leaves! Just brilliant!
Your response is the very definition of poor customer service! Let the consumers be the judge!

Quality plants. Good service.
The plants arrived in good time. They were in excellent condition and well packed. One plant was missing. This was sorted out quickly and simply by email. Anyone can make mistakes. I think that how a company deals with errors is a significant pointer to the quality of their business. I would be happy to buy again from this company.

I purchased a peach and plum late last year specifying I need them for fan training this year.
Two arrived in excellent condition and suitable for what I required.
Both have burst into life this spring, and it looks like peaches have set already. This was a surprise as I was not expecting any this year.
Both trees growth is healthy with good root stocks.
This is my first time buying bare root trees and I would certainly use this company again after this.
