Alloa gym does not even deserve 1 star…
Alloa gym does not even deserve 1 star 😤 manager has no managerial skills does not want to deal with any issues at this gym doesn't address issues within the gym hoping the problem will disappear. The gym is not clean equipment all over the place . Myself have had the worst experience at this gym with a member of staff and the manager has never addressed this with me personally I will never step inside purgym ever again I can only say from my experience and others that have also left this gym I would never recommend ALLOA gym very sad really because I was doing so well however there are a few members of staff that have been very supportive . I can only describe my experience as bullying.

Equipment is disgustingly sweaty and there’s no cleaning stations
The gym is so small, so it’s sometimes difficult to get on machines but the worst part is how disgusting and sweaty the equipment is. There’s no cleaning solution or paper towels so I couldn’t even do this myself before and after using the stair machine. Before even starting, the steps were wet, the screen was wet, everything was absolutely covered in sweat and I was trying not to freak out and leave at the thought of touching the handles. The first thing I did after using it was immediately go to the bathroom to wash my hands and look for cleaning stuff. Nothing. I then looked for a member of staff to ask. No one. Whose responsibility is it? Because if it’s staff’s responsibility, it’s not being done. It also cannot be done during unstaffed hours if that’s the case. For example, the gym is unstaffed 12am to 12am on a Sunday. All of those machines being used in that 24 hour period and not once are they being cleaned? There’s a response to a review below which states ‘We’re proud to say that many of the protocols implemented during lockdown, such as frequent and regular cleaning, and improvements to our air ventilation systems, will continue to be a core part of our TrainSafe Commitment.’ This simply cannot be true if there are no cleaning stations. How can they be regularly cleaned with no one to do it and nothing to enable us to do it ourselves. It’s unhygienic, unsanitary and disgusting.
Also, make sure you know how to gain access during unstaffed hours as the automatic doors are locked from the outside during those times seemingly. I wasn’t aware of this and it wasn’t the case the previous Sunday when the automatic doors were functioning without doing anything, so I looked like a bit of a plum trying to get in and assumed it was closed when it wouldn’t open.
I’ve cancelled my membership now as it’s honestly just not worth the money.

We pump over 2,000 litres of fresh air into our gyms every second though our ventilation systems. This helps to dilute airborne virus particles and ensure members have clean fresh air to workout.
Our gyms are also deep cleaned every night with high-grade anti-viral disinfectant. The team also cleans every piece of kit and surface throughout the day during staffed hours, from dumbbells to treadmills and everything in between, so you can train with confidence. For those unstaffed hours like you have mentioned too, we've also installed new self-cleaning stations so you can clean your kit before and after use, for added peace of mind. Cleaning stations are located in all key areas of the gym to make it as easy as possible. Thanks, PureGym.

Our gyms are indeed very popular and so can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate throughout the day. Members can also use the members area via the PureGym app or website to see how many people are in the gym.
Please also feel free to ask to switch in with a member while they rest between sets, this can also help you keep an even pace between sets. Thanks, PureGym.

Each day pass expires at midnight. If you buy a day pass at 2pm, you have until midnight on the same day to use the gym. Please note that day passes do not last 24 hours.
There’s an option to delay your day pass start date for up to one month.

New to Puregym
I am a plus size woman and I felt completely out of my comfort zone but the second I set foot in the Alloa puregym I felt at ease seeing there were gym goers there of all shapes and sizes. A great environment and an awesome place to release pent up energies and frustrations.
