Since the Pure Gym took this place over after LA Fitness it doesn't look there was some equipment replacement nor maintained. Some handle bars for Lats would need replacing, leather seats needs attent... Voir plus

water dispenser does not come out cold water! The cleanliness of the locker room is still very bad in the morning. Entrance door to the street should also have a QR code to enter this would fail... Voir plus

Great gym

This gym ticks all the boxes for convenience and value for money! There's a good range of classes at different times of day. I'd like to give a special recommendation for the three fabulous ladies, PTs Becca, Noemie and Immie - all of whom are exceptionally friendly and encouraging. My only wish for improvement is that we could have better music in the gym - something fast with a beat (and please not just contemporary stuff, which to my mind doesn't have a beat, or rarely). Working out is basically too much like hard work - if there was some entertainment, it wouldn't seem so much like work! Also, it could be a little brighter - colours such as grey, charcoal, and the ubiquitous turquoise are too downbeat. I know it's your corporate design, but I'd like to see less stereotypical gyms, full of red or yellow or even, dare I say it, pink!

I love this gym

I love this gym. So chilled and friendly - great equipment and always clean. I have only been coming since Jan and love it. mostly thanks to Duncan who has been my PT and has helped me so much with confidence and enjoyment in a space which was previously totally foreign to me.

Excellent circuit class and core

Excellent circuit class and core. Very good trainer.

I can never get over the value for money with all the classes included.

Love the new manager as well.

Clean and well equipped

I have only been once but was clean and well equipped. My partner goes all the time and it's perfect for him. I am yet to try classes but they have a fair range to choose from.

I can't access to the gym even though ir says when you cancell your membership you still have access until the day before your payment

Disappointing experience

Very bad we tried to use the bring my buddy service. After getting charged and going in the gym we were kicked out of the gym for an error that occurred that wasn’t our fault but PureGym’s fault.not a good experience at all. Won’t go back.

Noemi Leto what a breath of fresh air!

I wanted to go out of my way to write a review for Noemi Leto, who is one of the PTs there and also does some classes (I did HITT with her today) she’s just everything you would want it a teacher & PT, encouraging, really friendly goes out of her way to engage and is always so positive, talks about her own fitness journey and really is an asset to the gym. I love the class GLC with Neomi

I love the class GLC with Neomi. She really is very friendly and approachable. I hope she stays for a long time.
I wish there was a sauna in this gym but the location is great for me.

I love pure Gym

I love pure Gym. It has all the equipment I need and is clean andd a safe and secure environment for people to train in.
I love that you can bring a friend along on a guest code as well as.... EXCELLENT 👍🏾

So I've been a member of pure gym for a…

So I've been a member of pure gym for a long time use frequently but what can I say well. Ive been trying for over 3 weeks to get in contact with customer service to change pay date on membership its none existence the showers in the London road gym barley work and the toilets smell of fermentation pi#s on a constant basis and its strong. I was also trying to be charged 53.99 to try to rejoin the gym this week due to not being able to get hold of customer service to change dates of pay which stung me with rejoining fees and readmission fees I have been going for a long time but to be stung in a way its not on.

It was crowded and smelly

It was crowded and smelly. Also, going the security doors is ridiculous.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms are very popular and so can become busy, especially at peak times. The busyness of the gym does fluctuate throughout the day, or depending on the day of the week and you can check how busy the gym is before attending on your PureGym app.

Overcrowding Alert

It’s becoming so busy since Fitness First closed within a short notice . It’s like children playground . Toilets dirty not enough toilet papers and long waiting times for any machines. Please consider the comfort of existing members and not take too many new members that will make the overcrowding worst.

Visit 29th January 2025. We were impressed by the equipment in…

We were impressed by the equipment in the gym, the cleanliness of all areas and were shown round by a very pleasant young man (sorry didn’t get his name) who explained how things were run and seemed very friendly. All these things very important to us. We will see how we get on , we belong to the older age group!, so important we do not feel out of place.

I could not use the code or the QR code…

I could not use the code or the QR code , I clicked on the assistance bottom so many time waited for more than 20 min . I was so disappointed.

If you could get in touch with us directly with the Gym Manager/Member Services to provide more information (which gym, what date/time etc.) we can look into assisting you with this.

As you mentioned, there is also an Assist button at the gym entrance you can press but please bear in mind this will only be active during staffed hours. When pressed a local member of staff will come to the door to assist you. Thanks, PureGym.

The gym has gone downhill

The gym has gone downhill - the past two years the classes are still only half an hr with some being 45 mins (yippee!!) There are now no classes that I enjoy or if they are, they are on at a time that is not suitable and because I'm not the only one who can't attend, low numbers go and thus class is taken off. What is the point of going to a class for only 30 mins with maybe a wait of an hr for the next class that might be of interest. We need good classes at core times ie after 5pm and not in the afternoons. We need high fast class like combat or other aerobic type, some yoga or pilates again not in the afternoons and not at 5.30 as ideally these classes as perfect after a fast class or later in the eve. We need more fun classes as other gyms have and if not, then I think you will be losing another member.

Often cold, no atmosphere

Don't understand why after having no TV screens on for weeks, there is suddenly one on for a couple of days. Then off again. There's frequently no music (or the volume is too low) - so zero atmosphere. Gym is convenient, has lots of equipment. But not a particularly enjoyable place to work out.

Staff do undertake regular maintenance checks and work hard with our equipment providers to ensure that our equipment are fixed as soon as possible, if any should be broken. We are equally as disappointed when this happens and sometimes need to wait on engineers but will have all equipment in full working order as soon as is safely possible. If you have any concerns about equipment, please notify staff on site as soon as you can. Thanks, PureGym.

Lack of equipment. Music playing so low it’s like listening through someone else’s headphones from a distance.

Poor quality barbells (Jordan) and changing rooms stink of piss

Also vending machines don’t work properly.
