It is a nice environment to be in. There is a buzz about the place where people of all shapes and sizes can mix comfortably. Plently of equipment and support is there when needed. Great value for money.

Visit to Pure Gym Dunfermline
Visit to Pure Gym Dunfermline. Gym was not too busy today and so good availability of kit. Gym was clean and with classes in full swing, better atmosphere than in evening when kit availability and ‘busy-ness’ can make it difficult to have a concentrated workout. Dunfermline can suffer from those who ‘hog’ the machines for hours and is not helped by lack of ‘policing’ by Gym staff of those who sit on phones while others wait for kit to become available- a cultural change would improve availability and improve workouts. Still believe these types of gyms miss out by not asking their gym trainers to engage more with general members to correct poor technique or advising on more beneficial exercises. Would benefit both the members and the gym… opportunity missed! Otherwise, Pure Gym Dunfermline represents good value for money 🏋️♂️👍

Not impressed with front of house staff
I came to the gym to view your facilities so I could join but was denied entry for health and safety reasons ? This has given me a bad taste to begin with as I feel I’m joining blind. I’ve paid the first month so I can just see your facilities and the attitude of the staff before I make my decision within the 14 days.

As an online company, we don't have receptions. However, we have the cylinder POD doors that act as both an entrance and security system.
The POD doors monitor entrance with individual 8 digit code. As well as this, we have staff monitoring the gym, as well as a CCTV team.
If looking to view the gym prior to signing up you can press the assist button during staffed hours or you can book in a tour direct with the club via email.
Now signed up you can trial out the gym and if not for you can cancel via Member Services within the first 14 days. You will receive a refund for the remaining time left alongside any joining fee paid.

Good but could be better
Gym is genuinely very good. Equipment can do with a fresh up. A lot of attachment are badly worn or damaged. Free weights in Greta condition

We are equally as disappointed when, from time to time, things go wrong and equipment has to be placed out of order. Regular maintenance checks are undertaken, and any issues identified are escalated to engineers straight away. Sometimes, there may be a small wait whilst engineers attend to fix any issues, but we endeavour to resolve these as soon as possible.
If you have any concerns about specific pieces of equipment in your gym, please notify staff on site as soon as you can.

equipment excellent, availability dreadful
i have signed up for the 3 day trial in the first instance. The website was easy to use and the app was easy to download. i took advantage of the delayed start until monday when i attended.
the upside was that all the equipment was absolutely fantastic. the downside is that there was easily over 150 people in the gym, all waiting to use machines, benches and free weights and i spent the majority of my time looking about and waiting, which is obviously pointless.
in summary, you could have the best equipment in the works, made of solid gold, but when you can’t get to use it, it’s completely pointless.
i didn’t return for my other two days and i won’t be back.

I am so glad to be a member of PureGym again!
I briefly left when there was a drainage problem at PureGym Kirkcaldy. I joined Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre. The equipment was better. Hygiene better. BUT! They are a massive let down where staff are concerned - the minority do not adhere to boundaries and duty of care properly. The few spoil it for the many!
PureGym definitely excels in the people they hire! People who genuinely want to help you be at your very best. The only thing you have to do is ask for the help!

Gym is a bit small to accommodate the volume of people who come in.
I like the gym overally but it’s always packed and I guess it’s a bit small.

For what is worth, the kit and gym equipment are quite good and plenty of it, apart from treadmills, there is not enough of them. The main issue that I have with all of your gyms is the hot water. I want to take a shower, not to par-boil myself. The gym I currently go to because of my job location has a female cleaner for the men’s locker room. While this doesn’t bother me much for her to be mopping the floors at 07:30 in the morning is just ridiculous. I understand it is a busy place and may need more attention but this is just too much.

Temperatures and air conditioning in our gyms are automatically regulated by Smart machines, but if there is a persistent issue staff may be able to override it and can certainly report it to be checked by engineers.
