Guildford
Since opening, the Guildford gym has become significantly busier. At peak times the functional fitness area and C2 machines are often taken out of use for classes, which can make it difficult for members who want to use that equipment. In other gyms I've belonged to, instructors typically work with members to find a balance so everyone can still access what they need.
There have also been occasions when the air conditioning hasn't been working and the windows were heavily condensed. When this was mentioned, it didn't seem to be acknowledged as an issue, despite similar comments appearing in other reviews.
I recently completed a member survey and, rather than simply taking the feedback on board, I was approached about my comments in a way that felt somewhat defensive and it happened in front of other members, which was inappropriate.
During the 18 months I've been a member l've lost 25kg and made a huge lifestyle change, which I'm really proud of. However, my recent interactions have left me feeling less welcome at the gym, and as an LGBT member that feeling has been particularly disappointing. I simply want to be able to come in, train, and feel comfortable like any other member.

Air con felt inadequate for summer gym…
Air con felt inadequate for summer gym workout, no sanitiser or paper towels to clean equipment down, and during busy hours not a big selection of cardio equipment.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to leave us this review.
We have recently made slight changes to this area, looking at improving energy efficiency. By law, we have a requirement to provide a certain amount of fresh air based on occupancy levels, and our ventilation system increases and decreases at different times throughout the day and night, making sure we meet these requirements and provide good air movement around the gyms.
These levels are based on size of the gym, and occupancy levels, and are regularly monitored.
All member feedback is reviewed, and brought to the attention of our Facilities team, who regularly review any changes we make to our gym facilities and all feedback is taken into account when making any future changes.
If you have any specific concerns relating to this feedback, please speak with the Gym Manager or a member of the gym team where they will be able to assist further.

From Zero to 130kg Deadlift – Thanks to PureGym!
I’ve had such a great experience at PureGym Guildford! The staff are super friendly and always happy to help whenever I have a question. I really appreciate how supportive they are — they don’t just answer your questions, they actually take time to give proper advice.
There’s one guy in particular (I wish I remembered his name!) who did my induction. He’ll definitely recognise me! He gave me so much helpful advice on how to train towards deadlifting 130kg in just 2 months, even though I’ve never done lifting before and only weigh 65kg. His guidance really motivated me and made me feel confident about getting stronger.
Thanks to the whole team for being so encouraging and creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this gym!

Great gym
It was a nice gym, easy to navigate, and the equipment was in good condition and well kept. There was plenty of room And equipment to participate in which ever sort of exercise program one wanted to do.
Although we were just visiting for the week, I won’t hesitate to return if we’re in the area again
I would’ve given it five stars, but that implies perfection. And there’s always room for improvement somewhere.
